eBay tat volume 3.

I like Standard 10's for their slightly underdog image, but prices seem to have risen like everything else with a V5 pre-1980. This one looks about right with potential for improvement at £2,500, but needs an owner with an actual garage. It's not had an MOT in years either.

See here's a nice 8 that reeks of austerity, rationing and export led recovery without a boot lid and black upon black interior. But best part of £5k to go very slowly and maybe trundle to the odd local car show.

This is beautiful. 1972 so old enough to be cool in its own right. And even though they are almost exclusively ridden by accountants some harleys look cool, like this one.

Just kick start the litre v twin with hole in bucket carb and ride off into the sunset.  Simples.

If you can’t afford such beauty then I’m finding this much, much uglier sister strangely appealing, it’s proper back street hero’s fodder.  Probably the coolest a gt750 has ever looked.

A turbo would be easy* with that carb and manifold. It doesn’t run, but seller gives the impression of being enthusiastic but not very good so should just be a 5 minute job.*

That appears to have a Vauxhall grille fitted. Most odd. Nevertheless, I used mine as a daily driver and never had any issues, it's basically a Herald engine so reliable enough. They're quite under-geared (55mph cruising speed) but I suspect you could use later Triumph parts to sort that out. Still a few in daily use, so definitely not just for trundling to shows, but I think £2k is about top money really, for any Eight or 10

Christ, I only sold it this morning.  At least wait a few days!  He paid £1,000 and I anticipated a £1,995 flip, but that's just greedy.  Sunroof aperture is rotten btw.  Lovely car otherwise.

He's being hammered on the Rover 800 group. Problem is, the 800 lot don't take kindly to people taking the piss, and word spreads quickly around the close-knit community. I've added my POV for balance, and hope the new owner doesn't get too greedy, and someone gets it at a reasonable price.

@clayts450 - well done that's very fair and balanced. I think a lot people have had a tough year financially, and if someone needs to make a few quid - maybe he's on his uppers - then ok.

But I think we all know there's a classic* car price bubble which isn't helped by this behaviour, and I wouldn't want to be the person holding the 'asset' when the music stops.

As you stated very fairly its good car he can ask what he wants, no guarantee he'll get it but who knows?

Remember the 405 on here for £3600 a few years ago that we nearly all choked over who would pay such a stupid amount but it sold and now doesn't look totally off the wall for one.

Never understand why people get so hung up on others making money out of things, it's basic economics, buy low sell high.

Funny how people always seem happy if he'd bought that for a grand, circumstances changed and he'd sold it for a £500 loss, never an issue then.

Seller was happy with the price, good on him, painless transaction.

Also always amazes me how nobody bat's an eyelid of you make £100-200k on a house but make £50 on a car 😱😱😱😱

I started reading about someone who has /had once of these in the modern section and they are very interesting to me as I do love a berlingo and have experience, albeit in an industrial capacity of dc power /drives etc.

C. B. A worth getting it from Dublin etc but I'm really fancying a play with an electric powered veee-hickkk-le in the near future.

It's back with a slightly less bizarre but still entertaining description. (I can't copy Gumtree pictures now, God alone knows why)

FTFY :)

for whatever reason Gumtree have made it so you cant simply right click and save/copy pictures but if you dig around in the website sources you can often find the direct links to the pictures which you can then just save/copy and paste easy enough :)
