well someone in the UK has one, as the one that was for sale on Car and Classic for about 413 years was flogged via bright wells at some point recently https://classiccars.brightwells.com/viewdetails.php?id=10415 (its an invalidka of course I am going to know about it LOL)

but I could rattle off an entire list of "affordable shite" invalid vehicles that no one here has owned or driven, but that would probably get me shouted at...

I'm not into this type of vehicles but the exception is these SMZ don't know why as they are probably terrible.

And the green one, only 550 pounds hammer value? Glad it wasn't near me as I would have possibly done something stupid if it was.

That is very nice, I love an Invader 3, a friend had one years ago and it was the fastest car I had been in at the time. Another friends father worked in the paint shop at Gilbern. The factory was not far from where my parents live. The factory is still there and I had new tyres fitted and the MOT done on the Panda a few weeks ago there. I was offered an invader 2 for free about 15 years ago, it was stripped for restoration but left in parts, it was too big a job for me to take on at the time so I declined, I would like either an Invader 3 or an estate.

Thread on here?

Nope. Pre internet times I think.

He did post a picture of it up either on TDW or here.

Edit a quick search bought up this reference:

I think it was on TDW he posted the picture.

FFS @ an inva sluthing this way onto the thread. Forum is filled with the blinking things.

As the President said to Forrest Gump about his shrapnel wound to the buttocks "I'd like to see that".

As Mrs6C said when I came out of company cars I needed a stop gap and looked at a few cars including a Giulietta 1.8 but bought a Saab 900i. Mrs6C said but I like Giulietta so I pointed out I thought the Saab would be more reliable. No she said the Giulietta for me, please go and buy it as well as the Saab. Unfortunately it was damaged by a large tree that fell down when it was parked.

Then a further opportunity to own a Giulietta this time a 2.0 came up and I said no because it was non running and Mrs6C bought it anyway! Strangely I do like Giuliettas and for no real reason it has not reached the top of the list yet for return to the road.

@Split_Pinpack your tool kit, head south and drive a Giulietta.

"..... affordable shite that no one here has owned or drive(n)"  needs a tighter definition.  MK1 Escorts were affordable and shite in the 1970s/80s.  Veyrons may be regarded as shite by billionaires who can easily afford the odd £800K for a 2nd hand runabout.

I mean in shite money today, say sub £5k. What I'm getting at is, could you go onto eBay/gumtree/c&c and pick up something which no one here has ever owned or driven that is pre-2001?

That is going to be hard to find as I was in the motor trade 1985-1997 and drove all the mainstream cars so it would have to be very odd ball or expensive.

Fiat Tempra, any shape.  Bonus points for estate ownership.

I actually have a theory that all mid-size Fiats have some kind of curse upon their lineage that dooms them all to be forgotten. The 80s/90s Tipo and Tempra, the Bravo/Brava/Marea, the Stilo, the Bravo again, and although the current Tipo is a reasonable seller, I suspect in time it will go in the same direction.

cant not help but feel for my good friend ash with his thread right on here about his own LOL

I think this forum must have a 100% claim on shite over the years.

I reckon to truly answer the question you need to go to the complete opposite end of the market.

Anyone owned or driven a Phantom 8?

@NorfolkNWeigh may have driven one?

My grandma had a Persona Compact - in purple! - which was later passed to my uncle.  My other uncle meanwhile had a Tempra station wagon when my two cousins were little, and since he sold his I have never ever seen another one in the flesh/metal.

@wuvvum - that Commer van is amazing, does it still exist anywhere? ❤️

Wow looks like most people have owned just about every kind of car that was even remotely attainable.

@Six-cylinder good to see pics of the Gulietta. The reason I love these is because I have the Bburago scale model and apart from spme very vague childhood memories, I cant recall seeing one for decades.

I love the Commer van too, just brilliant.

Unless any of you either worked for the Post Office or gas board or were a Traveller in the 80s or early 90s, I  still think the BMC/Leyland EA is one nobody on here has owned or driven. I'd go as far as saying that they are rarer now than an Isuzu Florian, and the also made these in their thousands whereas I think the Isuzu was uncommon to begin with.

We could talk about stuff like the Panther Rio or Rapport Ritz, but ultimately those were just very obscure variants of reasonably common saloons.

Did any Isuzu Geminis ever come into the country?

I've always wanted a 3 door mk2 cavalier

Eh what you say...

Somewhere in South America they sold the mk2 cavalier as a cheverolet monza and did a 3 door version.  It ran on ethanol too.

No, so far that’s eluded me . S3 Cloud , Shadows, Spirits, a Spur, Corniches, Seraphs, a PhantomV and a Cullinan, can all be ticked off. When I was at the School in Scrubs Lane  there was a Camargue that I was desperate to have a go in but missed out by seconds coming back from lunch in the canteen and went out in a Corniche Coupe for my observation evaluation. So having a go in one of them is on my bucket list, a modern Phantom , not so much.
