it does actually check out KSYxxx is a Midlothian county Council issue from April 1962 to February 1963

but I am not surprised it caught your eye because PSY-YSY where all un-issued in period and later where issued from  June 1996 to Feb 1997 as an age related series

so it does LOOK like an age related plate, but in this case its not :)

curiously however it is registered as a crane, go figure...

I think mobile cranes are exempt from MOT tests which may have been relevant back when it was on the road.

5 door 323F.

Not sure what shape it is. Probably the one that they did for about 3 weeks or something, because everytime someone talks about a Mazda 323 they're all a different shape 🤣

I've got a 323 glxi and it looks bugger all like that. Mine is far more un-noticeable.

That Iv*co (im)mobile library is  a great idea. At least you’d have somewhere to sleep and have a read  whilst you wait for the RAC.

Plus, when the inevitable happens all that lovely paper will help the bastard burn.

Ah, the 323 'Godfreys' edition. A limited dealer special only available to Godfreys IIRC.

I'm amazed you can secure a loan on one at all.

Despite the current 'cost of living crisis' and the 'affordability checks' on new loans/mortgages it would appear that credit is easily available for virtually anything. Currently watching sprog #2 digging a large, dark financial hole and, this time, no bank of grown ups to help (I mean when you're in your thirties it must be just about time to stand on your own two feet?).
One of the contributors to said hole is a PCP agreement funnily enough - like you asked awhile back, is any new car sold outright these days?

I had one of these on LPG that tinworm killed. The 3.2 petrol has permanent 4WD and has a lot of grunt - weirdly though it only had a 2.3 (or maybe 2.6) tonne towing capacity on the plate - probably because they used the 4 cyl petrol or a diesel for the proving tests?
Lot of parts match with early Rexton so it's not that bad to keep running - if you can live with the fuel consumption
