Doesn't look too bad, but the seller states it needs welding and the current engine is junk. He can provide a good engine at extra cost.

My initial thought was that the wheels were from an Fiesta Mk I which prompted me to search for Mk I based kit cars and such, but a. this didn't produce any results that look anything like this and b. the wheels do not seem to be from a Fiesta after all, Fiesta ones have less holes in them. Of course, it doesn't necessarily have to be based on the car the wheels are from...

Very little, I'm afraid. If it was an obvious custom reg or an old style plate/reg I would have noticed I think, but this was just a regular black-characters-on-white-background plate. Besides, there wasn't much time in between this thing passing by on a trailer, me realizing that it wasn't just one of the many classic British roadsters on our roads, and frantically trying to find my camera for some pictures.😁

Yes, we thought that the door and wing looked similar to that of a Ponton. The instrument gauges have roughly the same shape as well, but it was my impression that they were placed in the middle of the dash. Of course, the dashboard may have been altered as well, though I do not really understand why you would do such thing in a car that's clearly meant to be inspired by classic Astons (which didn't have a central cluster afaik). I am absolutely positive it was rhd. The dash in the biggest resolution I have: Regarding the lack of vents, someone suggested that it may be a prop that doesn't need to be driveable. Could be, I guess. Edit: I've dug through my archive and appear to have taken a third photo! Which is a lot blurrier, but imo does make it more obvious that it is, indeed, rhd and has a central instrument cluster.

Something I've spotted last year. The general consensus when I discussed this elsewhere was that it was possibly VW based, but we couldn't find out exactly what it was. It was RHD, had a UK license plate at the front (I cannot remember the reg), a fake "JB-007-SPY" plate at the back, and the front was very Aston DB5/6 like but much cruder.

This picture is perfectly representative for that time imo. Opels everywhere, and things with high roofs were vans and the occassional 4x4, the latter wasn't really a posh lifestyle icon yet, and was usually owned by someone who truly needed one.
