Not particularly unusual, a lot of unsold stock trickled out in the years following MGR's demise. I've seen a 75 on a 57 reg and at least one 08 is known.

62 plate Peugeot 207 hatchback! These finished on a "12"... I actually saw a 13 plate 207 SW a while ago as well (finished on a "62") but I'd probably have to dig up the photo!

Not sure why the photos went on their sides after uploading... As you may gather there were people in the car, and after taking the photos I heard "OI!... OIIIIII!" and ran away. I was shaking!!! They were obviously "surprised" that a late registered car was having its photo taken...

I think I beat you a few pages back, I found a 14 plate 207 CC lurking around my area, to put into perspective, my 208 is a year older than it haha!

For some reason there seems to have been a big overlap between Mark 2 and Mark 3 (or whatever you call the different generation) Mondeos, with Mark 3s appearing on X reg and Mark 2s still being registered as 51 reg.

Ford love doing that. You could buy an Escort after the Focus was on sale, Fiesta Classic was another way of shifting the previous model. I think they just suffer from premature release when they've got a new model.

It's not as daft as it sounds.
For example, it is never any secret that a new model is the way so people stop buying the old model just when they need to flog all the old stock off.
If the new model comes early (stop it) then they don't get the drop off in sales and they can flog the old stock off to stick in the muds who don't want anything new fangled.

The other thing manufacturers do is up-spec the old model - electric windows, air-con etc etc to keep them selling.

I always thought Ford had the crossover with new and outgoing models in case of potential backlash against a new model, such as what happened when the Sierra replaced the Cortina.

In that case they would still be able to sell the older model until the newer one became familiar and more accepted.

Yes, Ledbury and Apple Maestros can be found right up to 51 plate, but they are usually registered as Rovers, or something odd like PPG or TETRover.

This one, however:

Is this the latest registered AUSTIN out there?  A whole decade after the Austin name was officially dropped.
