Another newcomer this week, a freshly restored yet unfinished Skoda rapid which cost £5k!

I saw you had bought that elsewhere. Looks great, I know James did a lot of work on it. Same colour as my Estelle (or at least the colour mine once was).  Superb

Picked up this Marty McFly special last night being sold with a misfire.

Runs like a bag of shit and no compression all over the place with 150, 50, 50, 100 psi. Doesn't appear to be overheating or mixing oil/coolant although the oil did seem to be rather sludgy and black...

Apparently the Toyota 4y engine is still mass produced in China and used in forklifts so if the worst happens I can just buy a new engine...

The Triumph seems to be the most popular one to date even with the videos of it being ragged shitless, loads of people seem to want it. The Hyundai hasn't gathered much interest and the DT is doing quite well. I added the wee QR50 today for Sundays draw so probably be quite a low odds one for that.

I bloody love this. Especially the fact that it has the 4Y in it. Proper survivor. If you do go down the Chinese route please make sure you chuck the old engine engine in the back, you know, just in case.

Got a head gasket set so will get the head skimmed and try changing the head gasket before buying another engine.

Our window cleaner at work had one identical, you could still see the ‘telecom’ bit just from the glue that had never been cleaned off.
The silly sausage pulled up directly right behind a truck I had just jumped into & I promptly reversed it straight into him 😀

Got the GSA running today, we had to winch it onto the truck when collected and spent a bit of time trying to figure out why it wouldn't start. It seemed to be getting fuel and checking the coil with a multimeter there was power there.  Distributor cap and rotor arm seemed a little bit corroded so cleaned them up and checked with a loose spark plug and was getting a spark.

I removed the old spark plugs and tested them, one of 3 seemed to work. New plugs fitted today, charged the battery and fired straight up. A little bit of adjusting the carb and it seems to be running better.

I'm offering it up as a rolling resto project.
