Yep, we've decided that the Rover is the next on the fleet to be replaced, and MrsH isn't sure what to go for. We've got a criteria (who doesn't?) but as usual, we'll bend the rules for the right motor:

- Max of £1000 - ideally around the £800 mark.

- No saloons, we have a spaniel and a baby.

- Petrol or diesel - we prefer older diesels if we had to go that way. Her trip to work is a 24 mile round one and I don't think new fangled common rails are good at that short a distance. Doesn't need to do 60MPG but at the same time can't do 12mpg

- No VAG products. Neither of us like them.

- Bigger than a Rover 200. I suggested a Streetwise but she hit me

- Mildly interesting/shite (that's for me)

- relatively safe in a smash

Any advice? So far I've been looking at Accord estates, Volvo's etc, but don't want to miss the chance of anything decent.

The FatHarris fleet:

'98 BMW 728i (Herman)

'99 Rover 220Di (Herbert)

'98 Mazda MX-5

'92 Honda Beat (Rotten project)

'91 Rover Mini Neon (Long term rotten project

'07 Kia Magentis (MIA)

The Rover /may/ be offered for ROFFLE on here once we have a new motor - we will see how much MOT is left on it by the time we actually replace it.

Rover 400 tourer, or 75 tourer ?

400 tourers only come up every so often as rare, however.

One on Facefart in Scotchland : https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1868797623176111

Or buy a diesel Streetwise anyway - she'll quickly fall in love with it, honest, but too smoll for your needs really (same size as 200)

R8 400 Tourers were definitely in my vision as MrsH loves her Rover, but finding one at a decent price was a challenge.

I'll have a look at that advert thought, ta

I could likely view if needed although there are other shiters closer (assuming it's the black scotchland one)

I bought some wheels off a Russian bloke with an Avensis. He had the seats down and the loadspace was fucking enormous.

The petrols are belting cars, I'd run away from a diesel though.

It is huge, I can get 2 full sized armchairs in the back of it easily and regularly do!
