N Dentressangle
No fuel available here any more, but I spotted this beauty whilst up in Newcastle this week: According to this: http://www.spenceanddower.co.uk/portfolio/dex-garage-newcastle-upon-tyne-1931 It originally included rest and washing facilities for chauffeurs awaiting the conclusion of their employers’ business or entertainment in the city centre; a car lift and turntables to transport these large chauffeur-driven cars to an available parking space; washing, servicing and refuelling facilities as well as a new car showroom. You don't get that at Blue Boar or Clacketts Lane. Amishtat, Asimo, Talbot and 11 others

The best thing about it is that the offices at the front are abandoned and still full of 1950s office equipment....... woodbine, somewhatfoolish and Dick Longbridge

Dick Longbridge
This used to be a place you could buy fuel, so I'd like to share it with you here, even though probably it ought to go into an Architecture thread... I did a bit of digging, and when the place was cleared in the mid 00s, it offered up quite a feast of old tin. I wonder what happened to the contents? tonedepear
My first house when I moved out from my folks was a shared one with mates and I had the front bedroom (smallest), the view from which was this. When I moved away (2002) was still attended service. Can't vouch for if it's still open I'm afraid, but even then it was an oddity. Inside was just a big kitchen worktop with cupboards underneath and you just asked if they had... and they either did or didn't. They used to keep a stash of Rothmans Royals 24s in for me for when I ran out and was too pissed to drive to town. Looking at streetview it looks basically exactly as it did then, so it probably is still going. Good for them. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.9479855,0.0211416,3a,50y,218.91h,88.33t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sNxHMKL6Z2B3DZuki3hb0uQ!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo2.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DNxHMKL6Z2B3DZuki3hb0uQ%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D37.30885%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656 RayMK and puddlethumper

Cord Fourteener
Here's My local petrol station and general play park for Shitters! What's good about this one is not only can you not tell, nor can the proprietor tell you, if the cars are for sale or for the scrap but you get an attendant serve you your fuel! Quirky, but often cheaper than the fake plastic stations up and down. Bryn Saith Marchog, A94 Ruthin to Corwen, North East Wales. puddlethumper
The petrol station in Achiltibuie is more or less the same as when I was there in the 60's.One pump outside Achiltibuie, I like the name, Stores.Don't know how to put a Googly pic but worth a look if only for, probably, one of the most minimalistpetrol stations in the land. Paulinprague
Refuelled in Vimperk in the Czech republic today. The sort of place that you just want to drive through ? Bloke at till was wearing shortie shorts, a cowboy hat on his bald head, a leather waistcoat with nothing underneath but suntan and greying chest hair/medallions, and a Nazi iron cross ring on his hand. Was too scared to take a picture. Dick Longbridge, woodbine, Amishtat and 1 other 1

It became a VW dealership in the late 80’s , then when they built a big showroom just up the road on the A45/A5 roundabout it became a Harley dealership. It’s now an independent used car place . lesapandre
Not so much a petrol station - but I have been photographing the geezer garages and yards in SE London. These are the little places in sheds, under arches or on vacant sites which are rapidly disappearing. Some great stuff - particularly the signage.
