ProgRocker
What you want is some "Veloooor" My Royale My Senator Hmmmm! My parents had a '79 Royale 2.8 saloon in the mid 80s. It had a burgandy interior. Burgandy, blue or beige were the only choices of interior colour iirc from the sales brochure that came with the car. During the 1990s they had a '86 Carlton 2.2i CD with a navy blue interior. Vauxhall did away with the woodwork by then. Soooo comfortable!

flat4alfa
The brill to drive and bodily solid Multipla, but with bargain basic greasy plastics betraying its budget sector pricing Honestly, it all works better than it looks. 2003 Fiat Multipla ELX Magnificent Rustbucket, Sheefag, Skizzer and 1 other
flat4alfa
The nicer to look at, and it would have to be as it cost £10k more than Multipla. But the FR-V was awful to drive in comparison and was rotten underneath (unlike the much older Fiat) and had to be sold quickly 2007 Honda FR-V Sport Buy a Multipla instead, believe me. Spottedlaurel
The 1988 Sunny, a very light and comfortable place to spend time: Sunny Interior 2 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr In searching for that photo I found this shot of the South African Skyline I bought back in 2002, with a similar design theme: 1989 Nissan Skyline 3.0SGL (R31, SA) by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Various ‘80s Nissans I’ve had have been essentially similar. Undoubtedly the best with its red velour was the JDM-spec Laurel hardtop, but I don’t immediately have any photos of that available. The 1200 is probably the most basic car I’ve ever owned, even more than the 1975 Clubman Estate I had for a few weeks. Best shots I can find for now: 1973 Datsun 1200 (B110) dashboard by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr 1973 Datsun 1200 (B110) interior by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Datsun 1200 Rear Seat - After by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr I have left as much of the original interior plastic in place as I can, although what was on the back seat had broken-up and just looked rubbish. Camry V6, quite plain really: Camry V6 GX interior by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr My current Camry Estate is much the same, but grey, manual and with cloth seats. I added the ‘wood’ dashboard trim off a later model to brighten things up slightly. Next-gen Camry Sport which I had a few years ago: 1997 Toyota Camry 2.2 Sport by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Generic late ‘90s Japanese, with everything working well. Shame that the indicators were on the wrong (i.e. left-hand) side of the column though. Being the Sport it had a UK-only Connolly leather retrim. danthecapriman, Six-cylinder, Sigmund Fraud and 9 others

Spottedlaurel
That Camry shifter looks awfully like it's connected to a Jatco 4EAT (Alcyone, Alcyone, Alycone) Me not know, sorry. It still worked OK after 140k miles and several trackdays, and then got weighed-in with a scrap car after I'd sold the V6 engine...... Shades of beige, brown and pretend wood in the current Laurel: Some of the plastics are fading/discolouring at slightly different rates and the 'chrome' trim is peeling off in some places. Contrast it with the inside of my old 240K of similar vintage: Aircraft style. All the instruments started off with their dials at the 9 o'clock position (except the clock, obviously, which was digital). The little drawer above the glovebox was called an idea tray, I suppose it's where you kept your notebook. Laurel and 240K Skyline are the same under the skin, so in theory the dashboards could be swapped over. Found something showing the maroon glory of the JDM Laurel: And surely this is the only way to gain entry to such opulence?
