New POD
I don't know whether to be overjoyed, or just cry. This is very strong money (and un-original engine) but dead rare now. I sold mine years back for about £1500 or something and thought I'd had a right touch. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Cavalier-Calibre-1988-Rare-Classic-Retro-Car-Limited-Edition-/112147529603 Yeah, mine spread most of it's engine along the Runcorn bridge, (including the starter motor which was damaged by a conrod on it's way out through the block. timolloyd
Don't know if it still is.....but this was Jaguar engined. It used to be based at Kingsclere down near Newbury. Be nice to see it spared the ignominy of hen parties etc. Although no reason it couldn't be called out to Shitefest. Tell the strippers to sod off and then enjoy the vehicle. mercrocker
panhard65
Yeah, mine spread most of it's engine along the Runcorn bridge, (including the starter motor which was damaged by a conrod on it's way out through the block.Ahhh the good old 2.0 8 valve from the late '80's I managed to destroy the engine in my dads mk3 Cav sri in the fast lane of the M11. It chucked a rod through the block and took out the starter motor. Which was a shame as it was still running when I got it to the hard shoulder and would of driven the last few miles to get it off the motorway if I could of got it started. It was a weak point in the engines at the time they snapped the con rods just below the small end bearing for no good reason.

Junkman
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1968-vw-beetle-cal-look-/232074728737 The advertiser advertised it as some welding needed... No.... it needs a whole lot more... Well, first bloody n00b mistake in classic car buying, innit? I run a classic prestigue and sports car restoration business so I know what I am talking about. Evidently not. An easy repair but the body has to come off. Easy repair and body off are mutually exclusive. So in total honesty it needs a body off, recommend full floor pans each side of the chassis, both sides heater channels, front outer panel, front inner panel, lower inner front wing repair panels (spare wheel well.) Holy shit! Not a big job Are you sure you have ever tackled somethig of this magnitude? I have fully restored a Beetle before Why am I not convinced? Well, the rest is good then I hope? The roof and bonnet were damaged due to a vandal jumping on it. The bonnet can easily be replaced. I have reshaped the roof as best I can. a couple of skims of filler should do the trick Is this your idea of how a classic prestigue (sic) and sports car restoration business run by someone who knows what he is talking about should operate? Anyway, would that be all then? oil leak an exhaust pipe is detached from a exhaust port Recaro seats although lightly covered in yellow overspray No headlining it will cut out unless you keep your foot on the throttle The handles are different on the doors I think it's a wicked 60's tax exempt Beetle, genuine Cal Look, converted to the earlier style, that's totally worthy of a restoration.
