Some xxx action for the dads. Picture the scene, light jazz, electric guitars making that wah wah sound, dark blue crushed velvet suit, massive lapels and flares, shirt with frills on the front. Huge moustache, aviators.

Husky voice -  'Hi girls' wink, sexy smile, ' can you give me a push, the bloody thing has gone all Italian on me. Again.'

I think this is the man you are describing but he wouldn't be seen dead in a Lancia. Bentley man through and through.

The plane behind the brace of Panhard PL 17's is a Breguet Provence. Note the PL motif on it's nose - could it be a company plane? Seems a bit extravagant to me.

I think the plane is a Bristol 170, it had opening front doors and could swallow cars and take them overseas. Maybe Panhard chartered one to take their cars to motor shows around Europe.

I stand corrected, it's a Bristol. The Provence is a much bigger plane. That doesn't carry cars.

I don’t know whose logo the PL is but Bristol freighter “car ferries” were most famously operated by Silver City Airways from Lydd in Kent over to Le Touquet  in France..

The car carrying ones were probably Super Freighters.

The PL is Panhard Levassor

I always thought an Italian version of Jason King would drive a Fiat 130 coupe, though a Lancia Gamma coupe would be a close second.

Why has that 130 got a NSR flat in a publicity shot?
