May just be the camber, but this rather lopsided looking 25 CVT in 1.8 flava has been on sale on Gumtree for £225 for a week or so with no takers. Poss oil leak as well ?

Might do a 'no contact' drive by as its on the way in to work.

Public thanks to cort16 for viewing this earlier. Saved me from being stupid (and becoming skint again) as it's a bit too much of a heap apparently.

Rather than being properly painted, this looks like it went through a carwash and someone tipped seventeen gallons of Dulux Council Garage Door green in, instead of soap.

As the Astra is kippered I could do with another car. Would this be a really bad idea?

I knew that very car a year ago, it was a good one then although I can't vouch for what it has been up to in the last year!

God knows what's going on with this, it looks like some sort of mobile badger torturing unit

This is an ex-BT light rodding and cabling unit, if you look at the interior pictures there is a caged roll of rods which the machine powered into the BT duct network between two jointing chambers and a rope was pulled in from the distant end back to the unit. Once the rope was installed it was attached to the cable to be draw in and pulled using the capstan mounted at the rear of the vehicle. Normally 2 man operation with the self messing/cleaning facilities to allow reasonable conditions for break periods and the ability to remove the inevitable crap that sticks during this type of work. Usually seen towing a small trailer with the cable to be installed on drum(s).

Don't ask me how I know.

It’s definitely the first time I’ve seen a boot opened by putting the key in the lock and hitting it with a hammer.
