I nearly came away empty handed, but went back to the stall where I'd seen this Scammell transporter He wanted £25 for it & I ended up paying £20 which I thought was ok.It's missing the wheel chocks as usual, also part of one of the hydraulic rams for the middle deck. You can get replicas of these Also, there's no interior in the cab,but I think I've got one somewhere. It does have the ramp though I'll give it a good clean later That Scammell casting is a beauty, it captures the Michelotti cab perfectly. Very nicely done. They could have just used the type they already had for the other Major trucks but made the effort to do these for it. Trucks from that era were so cool though in general. They actually went to some effort to style them and generally did a great job of it. All for a vehicle that was primarily for doing a hard job and then getting thrown away after it wore out. MiniMinorMk3
The Mini projects are done. Vanguards just needed some final touching of the vallences I've made a bit of an arse of the rear, only wish I had thought of the trick I used on the front before bonding it together. On the Corgi I put the bumpers on Then did some silver detail work similar to 1960s Corgi. Next was the headlamps. Yet another raid of the spares department for these. I got these of Ebay about 10 years ago for replacing jewelled lights. They were far cheaper than buying from model suppliers. With a bit of tape on the back of the hole, and a blob of two part epoxy in the hole, the jewels were dropped in. The eagle eyed will notice that the front bumper is off again, it fell off while trial fitting the base. Then after putting the car back together and doing some final paint details they are done. The silver round the headlamps of the Corgi have made them look too big Both cars have had Corgi number plates fitted. A small crowd started to gather, including some paparazzi. And after them there was a small queue of drivers waiting to give the cars a run... including Jackie Stewart in his Elf overalls. SO after his mechanic had give the green car a once over... it was off up into the mountains. The pap had to get some action shots. Then it was the turn of the red car And up and down they went. andrew e, Reluctant Adult, Tenmil Socket and 11 others

danthecapriman
Had to nip out this morning, but did find this. Minichamps 1:43 Mondeo mk1. Never seen one before so had to have it! (I’m aware I’m supposed to be thinning down!). Looks like an older Minichamps model but it’s actually pretty nice. Quite grubby and dusty so I’ve just given it a wash off. One for @egg 😁 Got a bit more done on the D series cement mixer too. Still some little touch ups and things to paint in. Rear mudguards need straightening a bit as they’ve got a bit twisted somehow. Front wheels need altering still. Rear bumper bar still needs doing too. FakeConcern, andrew e, w00dy and 14 others 16
junkyarddog
Some of yesterday's finds. Some boxed Corgi from the 80s. Think these were sold more as "collectables" than toys, but still look like they could withstand being played with. Nice Mercedes convertible. Random,Corgi, matchbox and Hotwheels Mercedes. Majorette Fiero and Datsun. Random bits, from playart matchbox Hotwheels and an unknown cop car. Mk1 Facelift 4-door and Mk2 estate I also checked my old ebay listing description and found that a grey metallic Mondeo Estate has passed through here. Is is described as a Dealer Edition so would have come in a box like this when the car was in the showrooms. bunglebus
Deliveries! Norfolk correspondant @Spottedlaurel found me this rather lovely Majorette Porker These were something I knew existed, I just hadn't ever seen any in this country. Zee Toys branded but 100% Maisto castings within I can see the MADE IN MACAU and FERRARI 308 GTB on the base but not the maker - I have no doubt it will say Maisto or MC Toys though Lastly, this I'm slightly obsessed with copies and knockoffs, this was advertised as possibly being a Lucky (it isn't) Obviously a plastic copy of the earliest iteration of the Dinky MK1 Transit but in plastic. Being used to such things from Lucky, I expected it to be 50-100% larger - but no Absolutely no idea who made it, but it's fantastic, copied the extendable radar gun thing and the roofrack but of course no opening bits, just a friction motor - and the radar gun slips into a recess in the roof unlike the original. Love it. andrew e, morrisoxide, RoadworkUK and 12 others

If so there isn't enough Porsche to go around on @danthecapriman's one so I'm happy to donate an interior to whoever still needs one. Here's my green Porsche that I cut the targa top out off when i was a kid, I got this in a swap with the boot/??? already missing. I already had the blue one in a box from new. danthecapriman
The one in my sale thread has one seat back missing. It might help @eddyramrod if he’s only missing one of course. I didn’t get time to open it up today. Tomorrow is more likely though if you still want it opened up and separated? Suspension is good. Wheels not bad. Glazing not bad. Boot/bonnet present & undamaged. Body itself is ok, no damage to pillars etc. Headlight jewels missing. One seat back missing. Paint not great. Spottedlaurel
Always nice to turn up at work on a Monday morning and find a package that's turned up over the weekend: Thanks to @Datsuncog for this batch. Will be interesting to compare the Land Cruiser with the older Matchbox version, plus ancient Majorettes. Majorette Golf Mk3 is a rather chunky, lumpen thing, even more so than the 1:1. '69' plate is from Rhone department, not a Parisian '75' registration like the older Majorettes often wore. Tailgate doesn't seem to want to open, and I don't want to force it and snap the hinges. Nothing in the boot anyway. Also got this Aoshima kit at a decent price off eBay: andrew e, Richard_FM, bunglebus and 7 others

AndyW201
Birthday today, so a bit of diecast to open. Not sure if @danthecapriman had acquired one of these among his impressive recent partwork jamboree, so apologies if it's already been seen. But I've been after this one for ages! I've got a few of the Vanguards Hillman Avenger saloons, so when I saw the Dodge 1500 Rural from the Argentinian Salvat Inolvidables partwork by Hachette, I've set my sights on one, as it's more or less a Chrysler Avenger estate. Sadly the only ones seemingly available in this country are the ACA automobile club version Nice, but I did just want a standard version, so would have to get rid of the signwriting and the stuff on the roof. Then came this nice plain metallic blue version, but I've only ever seen it previously on eBay from South American based sellers, at around £30 with about another £30 in postage. Nah! So I bided my time, and waited to see if that nice Jumajo in France got hold of them. Which they did. And I'm pretty chuffed with it, it'll make a nice contrast with the Hillman saloons. Not sure who makes it, (my guess was IXO, but there are normal cross head screws on the base, rather than the weird triangular slot ones). Apart from the tiny Dodge badge on the bonnet, it's just like a UK Chrysler one at the front. Not bad at the rear, (although the tower for the rear mounting screw on the inside of the tailgate jars slightly). The flat bit on the roof is a bit odd, probably a hangover from the roof rack of the ACA version. Love the Rostyles though! Interior, such as it is, is pretty good for a cheapie partwork model, especially the odd Alpine-style single spoke wheel. Brings back memories of BYG 745T, my Dads old Avenger DL in brown with all-brown interior Can still smell that hot vinyl! Aye, that's where I got this from, the guy goes under both names of Jumajo and 1:43 man, I've had a few good partwork model deals from them now. The Dodge was slightly more expensive as it seems to be the most sought after out of that collection, but ended up being just over £20 all-in, not too bad considering it came from France. andrew e
