  1. And here’s a WIP from c. 10 years ago where I Dremmeled off the rear spoiler. One day I’ll paint this beige…
  2. …here’s my effort from c. 1987, engine bay filled with Isopon, skinny Corgi wheels fitted then Humbrol enamelled in a suitably miserable hue 😀
  3. Oh Lordy… new Matchbox XR2i for 2024, plus Majorette are doing a “flat front” Escort mk2 - so no need to pay stupid £ for the current Hot Wheels no-one can find 😄
  4. Great to see Majorette will be doing a stock Volvo 240 Estate in ‘24. Fellow Nerds will note the “Lambda Sond” (catalyst) logo on the grille, signifying it as being a late model 😀
  5. This post prompted me to visit my local (colossal) Poundstretcher in Banbury today. There was a huge quantity of both HW & MB, but weirdly in a limited variety of designs - so much so that many were actually named on the peg, e.g “HW LANCIA DELTA INTEGRALE” - never seen this done before; it was even named as an Integrale on the receipt. I’ve also never seen so many met green HW Integrales in the same place - there must have been 50! I left with an MB Subaru SVX (£1.50) & a green Integrale (£1.69) - so it looks like pricing varies by store…
  6. On the MG Maestro prototype in the pics Corgi had got the bumpers right… anyone know why they grew to comedy proportions for the production version?
  7. Wow, that takes me back. I remember getting a 4-pack of these erasers (each a different colour) for Xmas c. 1980. They were in an Avon-type catalogue that was dished out to me & my fellow cub scouts 😀
  8. An unplanned visit to our local M&S (of all places) unexpectedly netted this: I experienced that rush you get when something you’re looking for is staring you in the face 😀
  9. This week’s Vintage Shop finds - a Pilen Fiesta and Guisval R12: Lady on the till only wanted £1 for both when I pointed out the R12 had a door missing, but in recognition of their rarity here in the UK I couldn’t let her, so £2 it was (last of the big spenders, me) I thought the Fiesta was a development of the similar Mira, but turns out it’s a bit smaller (both are @ Matchbox size). Lack of overriders means the R12 is perfect to metamorphose into a Dacia Denem… watch this space (but don’t hold your breath!)
  10. Have we had this one yet? Spotted in Brizzle a month or so back
  11. Visited Cloverlands Model Car Museum on Sunday & saw these (among many others) 😀More photos to follow!
  12. Check out this official Mattel press release (from the Lamley Group site)…
