when are you planning on heading down there?

The train leaves 12:45. Google says it takes 10mins to do the 3.1 miles because of road works.

Car park is pay and is play display £5 for 2 hours so car sharing may be beneficial.

I am planning to leave the camp ground around 12 noon.

I would be interested in the re-gas but don't know if I have a leak. Every car I've bought with aircon has always had a leak somewhere.

A vac-test will confirm if you have a hole in the system anywhere.  Whilst I can't nitrogen pressure-test a system, if the car holds vacuum for several hours, then it's a fairly good indicator that it's good-to-go.  No charge for that!

I guess at this stage I will be able to book a 3rd compartment on the train if we exceed 8. So please give me an idea of numbers, who is planning to join me.

I'm up for the train ride, count me in.

I haven't decided which car to bring yet but it'll be either the Rover or the 205.

In that case, you might as well take the SMR to the summit of  ¾ of the way up Yr Wyddfa. (Because apparently it takes years to replace a short length of single narrow-gauge track)

Perhaps @Mrs6C could bring some track with her to lend them for the weekend so the train can go all the way up.

Also, yes please for the train ride.  One cannot visit north Wales without having a ride on at least one narrow gauge railway.

Please - please, could there be a sticky made of crucial details?

Breakfast times,  postcode, extra activities - having to painstakingly comb through a 21 page thread for basic information is getting time consuming.

Co-incidentally, the collection does include an ex-Maenofferen slate quarry 'manrider', a wagon with angled seats (now long gone) designed to carry  a team of slate quarry workers up and down inclines to access worksites, but it's 22" gauge and the Snowdon line is 600mm, so it won't quite fit! :-)

If no-one has done this by the time I get home and have opportunity to do it, I'll do so.  I've had to look through the thread a few times too.

Ditto, I'm rammed at the moment but I'm sure one of us can do it.

It is with a heavy heart that I may have to withdraw. Been working on the R14 for the past 3 weeks and had it all running sweet. Drive it out and front left and rear right brakes are binding. Master cylinder, bugger!

My friend who's coming would like a place, please. He is a member here but rarely seen

Him alone or 2 for both of you?

One for him unless there ends up being one spare. I don't want to take a place that could go to someone who might appreciate it more, although I'd like to go

Is there a limit on how late we can arrive on Friday? I'm hoping to get there before 20:00, but my plans usually get shat on from a great height.

Haven't you got time to fix it?

good question - I'm coming after work and wont be there til around 9pm -later if I forget to buy beer.

Typically the CRX has a/c that needs pressure testing but there's no way in hell I'll get it a ticket this week.

@MrDuke@Ghosty there's no time you have to arrive by on Friday. I'll be there until about 11pm, if you're later than that just drive on to the field quietly and we'll see you in the morning.
