Chumly 2024 - 8th September *EVERYONE IS STILL DRYING OUT*

Maaaaybe. Depending on personal life events.

Is there any age requirements? I'll probably go up in my Z4 or something like that.

We can't do the day of the show, but keen for the camp at the Shady Oak the night before (if that's on?)

Any recommendations for cheap accommodation on the Saturday? I don't fancy leaving at 5:30AM on the Sunday only to have to drive back again at 4PM.

I'll put my name down as well as a couple of others I know intend coming. I also intend staying at The Shady the night before.

Not sure about Mr @juular though...

@brownnova did the organisers ever get back to you or should we all buy tickets and throw tomatoes at them on the day?

Funny you should say this @rml2345 as they literally emailed me this afternoon!!

There will be an update with how to sort tickets to follow.

Afternoon all,

I have been in cahoots with Mr @brownnova about organising the Shitefest return to Chumly this year. In years past someone would get a list of peeps from here and then contact the organisers to bulk buy club stand tickets and send them out. This year it appears that everyone just books their own ticket online and enters the club stand name on the booking so here's where to do it.

Go here to start booking:
https://classicshows.seetickets.com/event/festival-of-1-000-classic-cars/cholmondeley-castle/2929879
If you want to be on the AS Club stand, select "Club Classic Car Exhibitor (from 1-4-2024)" - (£8.06). Do not select Individual Exhibitor.
Go through the booking process.
On the very last page where you put in your address etc, there is a box to enter the club name - put in "Autoshambles". This is our non-sweary alter ego.
An exhibitor ticket will get one car, a driver and one passenger. Any extra passengers will need a separate Adult Visitor ticket (£10.75).

Club stand exhibitors must be in the show by 1100. Exhibiting cars must be 2008 or older but we are allowed 25% of the stand to be newer than this.

Can anyone who is attending please also add their name to the list (I will repost below) so that we can send them numbers in advance so that they can allocate us enough space at the show. After buying your ticket, you will be sent a download link approx one week before the show, can we have as many people booked and numbers by around that time just so Mr brownnova can send a message back to give them the number by then. There's usually plenty space though if we end up with more cars turning up than what we mention.

Just bought my ticket and got the email with the download link for the ticket within a few minutes.

Thanks @davidfowler2000 and @brownnova for organising this.

Is there a deadline to purchase tickets, and are dogs allowed in? I'm planning a trip to London that week, assuming there's no more riots, but depends how one of said dogs responds to treatment whether I'm flying down or driving down. If I need to take him with me then it'll be the latter. I'll know by the 1st Sept which I'm doing as I need to cancel my hotel by then, if I don't need it.

Booked for myself in either :

330Ci MSport

Forester Mk1 S Turbo

320CLK

Not sure which I'll bring as of this moment.

See y'all there

Only just seen this. I'm interested, just got to check with Mrs auntiemaryscanary.

Can we leave sooner if on the club stand? Or are we locked in until closing time?

Last time I went half the show had buggered off before closing time which was handy as it left us plenty of space to piss about in each others cars.  I think I drove about 10 cars and came back in one of them to the slightly worrying sight of @KruJoe giving my son a driving lesson in the Pleasure wagon that was towing a BX on a trailer.

Last time I went there was plenty of car movement to and from the judging arena so unless they've gone health and safety mad, I'm pretty sure you can get out early if you need to @SiC

With Classic shows events you can generally  leave earlier than closing. Certainly how it has been in the past.
