I remember my mate doing that. We did get the hood to close. Luckily the Mx5 had a good heater. Pulled hood over as far as it would go, whacked heater up full and threw a blanket over the gap at the front to keep the heat in. It didn't take too long to warm the vinyl and get it pliable.

When I fitted a new hood, I tightened up the bolts around the back before putting the hood up.

When I phoned the supplier, they laughed at my simple error.

Undid the bolts a bit. Put hood up. And then tighten the bolts again.

Jumped into the Rover this morning to head to work, got a few yards up the road and noticed a strange grinding noise coming from the front.  Pulled over and smelled burning rubber.  A brief investigation ascertained that the nearside front spring has snapped and the top half is digging into the tread of the shiny new* tyre I just had fitted.

Testicles.

Why are most radio adverts now voiced by blokes who can't speak properly? I'd have assumed a basic understanding of English grammar would be a prerequisite.

A prime example is the latest Go Daddy radio advert.

The very second I hear the words, 'Yeah fam' I change the station. Seriously, who rubber stamps this shite?

Bought a battery from Tayna on ebay, use them often.

Somehow I had a discount code for  £8-34, so used it and got the reduction.

Credit card bill shows charged full price.

Complained, reply was, 'thank you for your message you will receive a refund of £8-34'.

No apology whatsoever.

Check your statements with Tayna.

Got some new specs on Monday. First time with varifocals, lady says it's possible you won't get used to them. They're sort of ok walking about, but can't drive in them as looking over my shoulder to change lanes or reversing I end up looking thru the mid distance bit. Went back to opticians and he's trying to give me spiel about you'll get used to them. Er, no thanks, don't want to have crashes trying. I'll have normal specs n continue looking over the top for close work.

This wheelarch is the contact point for the driver's door of cars parked next to mine and it's starting to show some scars... (Ignore the rust, that's just some HERITAGE showing through).

Due to the diagonal parking angle..

I was exactly the same. It felt dangerous driving with them. I was told I needed larger frames to get the proper effect of the varifocal. I went back to distance and readers after that.

I bought some varifocals from Costco £380 , no problems from day one , when they needed changing I went to Specsavers , couldn't see with them , , they tried again just as bad

Then he asked to see the Costco glasses , ah right, these are essilor lenses , we can get those but they're expensive , I can't remember how much but it was considerably more that Costco

Went back to Costco , new varifocal glasses , no issues from day one.

Not all varifocals are the same

Communications between Britain and Ireland have gone back to the 16th century. I thought it was bad enwhen a small parcel took nearly 3 weeks to get here, but I just received a letter from the lady who owns the house next door but lives in Cambridge. Postmarked 13th December in Peterborough.

It seems that Norwegian Post has lost the package with the parts for the Vivaro. This is the first time something like this has happened to me. And it is impossible to get through to Norway Post by phone, I have talked to those I have bought the parts from and they have opened a case on this with Norway Post. But this can take time and is a big problem as I have to have the parts before next weekend. I can buy the parts again or another place but I can not afford it but may look like I have to.

Yesterday was the second day of doing diggering work on my drive. Removed a recent windfall tree and it uncovered the phone cable to my house which was never buried when installed about 60 years ago but just run along the side of the road. Carefully moved it to one side but noticed 7 historic repairs in the 3 or 4 metre section. Phone and internet stopped working. Reported and told it will be fixed by midnight Tuesday. This morning it came back on for about 20 mins but was sloooooow. Off all day. Been back on now for a couple of hours. Works the landline enough to ring, but nothing more and still no dial tone. Internet is working, but a download speed of 8kB. Roll on Tuesday.....

I've got a trailer that originally  had 10" BL Mini wheels on, which were crap so I replaced them with MG Midget Rostyles which fitted fine but turned out were buckled... apparently they all buckle. I bought 12" Rover Mini Minilites and they won't fit because the centre bore is too small! How on earth the 10" wheels fit but the 12" don't I have no idea. I'll have to find out how to drill out the centre so they fit.
