tell cops about it and station gadge will have to - couldnt k speak to ha about m also?

I don’t know how the law works exactly in relation to this sort of offence vis a vis deciding whether to prosecute or not.

The housing association are aware of M, and have at least blocked a request by him to get a bigger house on another estate at the other end of the village as this is where K lives. I am surprised they haven’t taken steps in respect of an employee being verbally abused whilst carrying out their job though. Hopefully they will consider turfing him out.

Last night, whilst at work, a fellow shiter text me and asked if I owned a Jag parked on a road nearby my house. Someone had posted up on social media about its alarm going off.

Ok, fair enough, first part of the night at work is slow so I had time to go and sort it. I got to the car and disconnected the battery, a couple of residents on the road approached me and I apologised for the inconvenience. They were quite happy that something was being sorted.

No worries. I head back to work, but before I did, I made the mistake of posting up that it was mine and I had sorted it.

Later on, I saw a reply from some racist arsehole accusing me of being "one of those entitled lot" posting up a picture of a visibly identifiable Muslim man.

He also mentioned that a "brick through the window should sort it", which of course worried me slightly on day where I just honestly couldn't be bothered. The Jag is my baby, I love that car.

Checking out his profile, I can see he is a raving loony racist, every picture is an anti brown, anti Muslim, anti immigrant image, one image even had an AI created image of a visibly brown man with a moustache in a rubber dinghy clutching a knife and a load of cash. He's clearly someone with a real hatred of anyone brown or anyone with an identifiable 'foreigner' identity. Anyone who thinks like that is an absolute fucking jeb end.

As I said before, many people these days just seem to want to act shit. Not everyone, but there does seem to be a lot.

They really do have to crack down on people who racially abuse others, it’s fucking horrible and quite affecting if you’re ever on the receiving end.

Platforms like Facebook or obviously X which will take absolutely no action about posts from racists are a big part of the problem nowadays as are the associated algorithms where people’s views are legitimated.

Do they? Aren't half the population thinking of voting for them?

As it stands it’s illegal as well as unacceptable (no idea if the law will be changed if Reform ever get in).

I shouldn’t like to live here if it becomes legal.

Facebook Muppetplace.

I think I've been lucky, until now. Just bought a working* Android stereo for the Transporter. Got home, plugged it in, and it's dead. Changed the fuse and still nothing. Reset the unit and checked all the cables numerous times to no avail.

I've messaged the seller and he's not read my message, obviously. Part of me wants to head over with the stereo later on for a refund. On the flipside, it's £40, and I teach close to the fella's home and it's probably not worth the agg.

Why do these people take the piss?

A mate had his moped nicked overnight Friday/Saturday. Cut through the big chain securing it to a metal staircase on his driveway, ignored the 2 other locks and alarm. Cops issued a crime number and closed the case.

Wasted a whole day and around £100 in travel tickets for a car on here that had a fucked auto box. Very pissed off, but I don’t part blame out to the seller as he was only a go between. Absolute shit day.  Car wasn’t even for me.

Decent outcome on this one. The seller replied to me an hour back stating he had only just had chance to reply to my message as he'd been out for footie all day. He seemed genuinely surprised that it wasn't working and offered me a refund. He then drove over to  collect it and reimburse me.

Whatever the reason for the stereo not working, I couldn't really fault the bloke's efforts at sorting the situation.

Result.

They're** being actively encouraged  to behave like this.

And yes, I have been offered money so I can get back on that small boat and go back home.

**The ignorant.

Still, when I wear my tweed\corduroy combo, it confuses the shit out of these cunts.

Yep that's another ripoff you have the indignity plod not giving a shit then your charged for the privilege of it being found.

If you complain it's "your insurance will pay it". Yep & my premium will go up to cover it all.

Father had his insurance renewal through on Saturday,

£370.

Not bad thought I given his age.

Per month…… 400% uplift

so long Aviva, Hello LV at a third of the cost which is a bit more reasonable.

I've had this, as a " valued customer" they're hoping you'll just auto renew, and not check anyone else.

Thieving bastards, it was admiral with me 🤬

My house insurance with Tesco went up 50%. Told them I’d not renew, and remove auto renew from the policy. Oh, we’re see if we can be more competitive.” Yeh right, £90 off, still way more than last year, with such a big excess, I’d only claim if the house burnt down. No thanks.

A few days later, new quote, will auto renew on xxxx. Great have to phone them again. Probably end up with it on my credit card for a month.

Sorry to hear that.

What you say about them being actively encouraged to act this is 110% truth.

The media here seem to be quite on par with creating news to keep themselves on business. This affects communities. The stupid and ignorant act like this because they have nothing else going on on their sad lives. Thus affecting people like us who have nothing to do with  whatever they think we're doing.

It's a shame that I honestly have to think twice about posting up on social media for fear of inviting such comments. I've had it before.

It was Adrian Fucks that got me.  Right around when my mum died, so understandably had other things on my mind.  Didn't even know it was set to auto renew until I noticed the money was missing from my account a few months later.  Had gone from ~£250 a year to £1200.  Same scamming idiots managed to lose me nearly ten years of NCD.  I took the car it was on off cover because I'd sold it (I had I think five cars with them at the time on a multi car policy), and rather than just transfer it to another vehicle (or ask me), or indeed put it on the NEW car I'd just added to the policy replacing the sold one, they just left it floating in the aether.  Didn't notice that until considerably later when I was finally able to close the policy with them altogether and asked for proof of NCD for my new insurer...and there were three years rather than thirteen.  I was pissed, and they had it all there in black and white and agreed it shouldn't have happened...but bugger all we could do about it.

Swore I'd never touch them again.  Which is hard as they seem to trade under about 10 different names and own half the industry now.

Edit: My grump for the day - Windows has handled the move of the drive it lives on to a new PC precisely as gracefully as I expected it to.  Not at all.  So I guess I need to reinstall it.  My give-a-damn levels aren't nearly high enough to even consider tackling that right now.  I only really use it for a couple of games anyway (which I've not had time to touch in months) so it's hardly mission critical.

Strange. My van is insured commercial with hastings. Was £550 last year this years premium was £450. No idea why. I didn't bother looking elsewhere. My last hobby car was the a4 cab that I sold to splitpin that went up from £550 to £1100.

Which is the reason I don't have any shite anymore.

The cost of my insurance with Adrian Flux has dropped by about 70% or so over the last 5 years and that wasn't from an uncompetitive beginning.

I've found them OK over the last 14 years although I've never made a claim.

Hit a pothole hidden in a puddle in the dark on the way home last night. Didn't fancy putting the spare on in the rain and dark so opted to go out in the C15 only to discover that full beam has left the chat.

In remarkable feat of planning* and foresight* the MOT on the Nissan is due on 5th Feb and the C15 on 12th Feb. Tyre for the Nissan will hopefully arrive Tuesday to be fitted Wednesday ready for MoT Thursday. Hoping rain will stop for long enough to sort C15‘s headlights at some point.

Lot of hoping going on.

Got about a mile from home this morning and noticed the steering was pulling to the left. Pulled over to check and sure enough my spare had been punctured and was going down rapidly. Walked home, jump started the C15 and made it to work for just after 9am.

My lunch hour was spent driving back to the stricken electric van to get the now knackered spare and drop it off a tyre place to have a budget fitted. Hate leaving a vehicle unattended on an axel stand at the side of the road but had no choice. Picked it up on the way home and got the wheel back on lit by the C15's headlights.

MK1 son is with flux, they've been ok, even when he hit a tractor and wrote his Range Rover off, it was 3rd party at the time, but we didn't have any issues.

They insure the range rover of too many wheels, mainly because most insurance companies don't actually know what it is, let alone how to insure it!

Reading from other people's experiences, it seems that the problem ms arise when you actually try to leave....🙄

Yeah, but at least you have the knowledge & ability to sort it yourself, as would I and most of us here.  Many don't, though.

Mine went down by £15 a month and I added 500 miles of business and national RAC drag you home eventually cover. Not awful I think considering I drive a car that statistically will have been involved in many expensive fully at fault accidents as a number in a database field 😂

I have been mildly fucked over by a client today. Worked for them a few times already, usually been a pretty pleasant experience. Standard job for them involves getting one video file and a folder of images, along with the script for the video with annotations for pretty much exactly which edits need done where, I can knock it out in two six hour days of hyperfocus. The pay is shit, but I don't really care because it's a youtuber I enjoy watching and it feels good to be doing work that feels like it's making the world slightly less shit.

Anyway, the friday before last I get the message from his manager telling me there will be a project and to expect the files by Tuesday/Wednesday, deadline the 5th, so block out some time. Absolutely fine. Gets to wednesday, message from the creator himself telling me it's taking longer than expected to finish up the writing and filming, so files by Friday night, deadline still the 5th. Again, mostly fine if a bit annoying. Wake up on Saturday morning to a couple of Google drive emails telling me the files had been shared with me. Flipped through the script, and it's relatively short, doesn't call for too many fiddly edits. Make the executive decision to leave it til Monday because I like to keep my weekends clear when I can. Now, this next part is probably my fault... Wake up entirely later than intended on Monday, and stupidly decide to fiddle around with some dayjob stuff because I'm confident that I can block out Tuesday/Wednesday for this project and it work out fine, I've completed one of these edits in one 16 hour marathon before after all.

Fast forward to Tuesday morning (today) and I am getting the files ready to start work. Open the folder that would generally contain the images... oh, there's no images...

I look at the annotated script again, and realise that instead of the usual filenames referring to the needed images there's descriptions, with the unsaid implication that I have to find them myself. BOLLOCKS.

I can do it, obviously, but ffs it would have been nice to have been forewarned!

When I submit the work I'm going to politely tell him that I've done it for the usual price this time, but in future it'll be a (fairly substantial) upcharge for gathering any significant quantity of assets, because it is a pain in the tits.

And yes, I know I am not helping with the rapidly approaching deadline by typing all of this instead of just getting on with it.
