It's the car equivalent of a payday loan. People do it who really can't afford anything else and that risk means that that's the price.

 

Weekly payment as it's for people who think week-to-week, not month-to-month. Also they're more likely to be able to scrape together the weekly rate than the equivalent monthly rate. I guarantee someone will go for that. It's fairly lucrative stuff
