That's a very crabby Moggie!

Eyewateringly expensive, but a brilliant toolbox design. I especially love the comfy seat and vodka bottle holders for those moments when you shear a stubborn bolt and have to sit down in dispair.

Actually summoned the energy to clean out the car today. Vacuumed, dressed the plastics, gave it a squirt of air freshener  even got my fancy little brushes out and cleaned the air vents 😄

This guy should play the lottery too.

I have a slime gel blob to do that ( and other crevices like trays and cubby holes). Great really if weird to hold.

Yes, many are.

Yes, the vast majority are. Electric ones dearer to run, even though 3-phase.

This genuinely made me grin. My other half thinks I'm mad but I really like them.  In great nick, too with a youngish chap at the wheel:

MOT checker suggests it was taken off the road (after a passed MOT) sometime in 2006/7 and then sat until November 2018.  Totally clean MOT history on it and around 1,000 miles every year since it was recommissioned.

This was in Spain. Pipped natural gas is not always available. Price structures are different.

4 new tyres on my Company Wip this morning, ATS we’re the guys with the tools and they hooked me up with 4x Michelin Premacy 4s. As a keen Driver and a fat bastard I can appreciate the combination of handling and ride comfort they offer

Good point, presumably not piped either! I'd originally thought the origin of the fire was self-combusting laundry but the door opens and some spills out before ignition can be seen. The fire seems to start in the upper left area of the dryer, so it's not combustion of lint in the bottom compartment. I don't know that particular make of dryer, but the heating element or gas burner is in the top section of all the designs of dryers I've seen, and hot air is drawn down through the perforated drum by a fan in the bottom compartment.

Edit: I've (well Google) just translated the text: The explosion of a dryer due to a lighter recharger causes the destruction of a laundry

Taxed the cheap MX5 I bought, I'd forgotten what a laugh they are to drive, it's stood for 9 months, started 1st time, didn't even turn over , the tyres are all shot, cracked all over so I'm getting 4 new ones tomorrow

I'm hoping the hood is OK under that hard top 20230220_104414_006.thumb.jpg.881a1ff62cd19ca1c80c39ec3100b8ab.jpg

Is there any greater satisfaction than successful parts sleuthing?

Window switch for a Suzuki Vitara..

Called up the stealer, £109 + VAT sir..

Did a bit of research and managed to find an identical switch online listed for a Daihatsu. Less than £10 including delivery!

Crazy, just goes to show it's always worthwhile trying on these sort of things.

No, especially when you find a solution where others have failed.

All the factors just went "computer says no" . eBay to the rescue..

One even refused to look it up when I said window switch for a [20 year old] Vitara.. "NAH WONT HAVE ONE OF THOSE" he just barked at me!

Parts advisors; I'm sure you're a lovely bunch but some of you can be the bane of our existence sometimes!

So was it the gas that caused the slight bang

I think the 'lighter recharger' exploded (due to the expansion of its contents in the hot dryer). It might have also created a spark. From the scale of the explosion I think it must have been a gas-heated dryer, the gas line ruptured by the initial explosion, perhaps.

First commute of the year in the Laurel yesterday. Something very pleasing about the balance between the maroon paintwork, green verges and bright blue sky.

Stopped for fuel at the good garage (not the annoying BP/M&S up the road) and they'd got one of their toys out:

Got chatting to one of guys, he said the rod (which seems to be a rebodied Burlington kit car with a Rover V8) was up for sale as they'd bought several other things. I got ushered in to see one of them:

Purchased as they had fond memories of a couple run as garage hacks back in the day. He mentioned about bringing it along to one of the ECR meets down at Shotley, would be great to see it out and about.

Also popped into the garden centre, young lad working there saw me with the Laurel and was quite excited to see it.

My mate has being fags from a reputable source for a while now, all was going well until Saturday when the latest batch didn't smell or burn as well as they should. Got him to pass me one for examination, and not kidding this was the quality* of the snides...

A lad who I used to work with got dodgy fags off his mum, the best ones were called "Email reds"

Richard Gottfried on Twitter: "email cigarettes!? #email ...

They tasted nice (supposedly) but smelled like dog muck.

How can anyone smoke that, you have no idea what's in it, it's not like it doesn't fuck you up when they're legit but to risk smoking that to save a few quid seems mad to me
