andrew e
That Stingray’s just lovely! Came home to a cracking parcel from Richard Morris - would heartily recommend 👍 bunglebus, Shite Ron and Datsuncog
Split_Pin
Who did it worse/better: Corgi Whizzwheels on the left, Superkings on the right. The Whizzwheels is from that weird era that the blue Mercedes is also from (which I have). There's a lot of detail on it and it looks fun to play with. Opening doors and there is a strapped down spare tyre in the boot. The Superkings is also odd as it's also not much bigger than 1/43 scale. I think the Capri MK2 was a similar size, before they moved closer to 1/36 scale such as the 1979 Volvo 240. Its got a bonnet that pops open using a catch underneath. It also has good detail and looks equally fun to play with. My opinion is that the Corgi has the edge on looks and has play value too. andrew e
It shows you just how big the toy market was in the US for matchbox and corgi as the Z cars were huge sellers there. Both are really nice toys as well. The rear badges cast into the Superking body are so delicate too. Split_Pin
Split_Pin
Quite a few Superkings had lovely badge detail such as the Plymouth Gran Fury. andrew e

I have a few different versions, the Superkings comes with either the more common white, or black base. Still have my black base original from the set with the Volvo estate, would love to find a really minty one eventually. As well as the red, I have this version of the Corgi Split_Pin and andrew e

bunglebus
I've heard noises that Tesco won't be selling Hot Wheels and Matchbox - might mean we get a better choice of places to find the later

Cue probably 18 months of farting about then agree a painfully slow deal with some obscure retailer like Edinburgh Woollen Mills. Isopon
Bought this lot from the charity shop today: Vauxhall still has its tailgate: Total cost? 10p each. Couldn't he happier, also picked up some other (later) diecasts for the same price but these are by far my favourites. Absolutely not going to sell them. Split_Pin
My local Tesco are running their HW and MBX stock right down, not that they ever had much anyway. Other places like Smyths have cases that are way old and the Entertainer is a bit hit and miss. bunglebus

Cost more than than when new. My Maserati 4CLT My Ford Corsair with added rust. I think there used to be a small boat with this car. My Iso Grifo. What was I thinking when I painted this? I also had the Zodiac and GF40s Which have been lost over time. It makes you think what kind of business runs like this? ‘Choosing’ one retailer to sell your products through. Selling items like that it’s about maximum exposure where they’ll be picked up and seen. Split_Pin

I think HW and MBX are probably sold in big stores in the US such as Target, Wal Mart and maybe Canadian Tyre North of the border.

Perhaps you might be right and they’ll give up with the european market. Split_Pin

bunglebus
Up fairly early to enjoy the smell of cheap burgers and Vicks Vap-o-rub at the boot sale. As ever, you can buy everything but the... ...oh OK. A suprising number of people selling toilets and parts of too. First, bigger sale didn't turn up much of interest, I saw a plastic Buddy L for too much the other week but found this one for 30p, not quite the same one as this has working lights I'll give that a clean up and test this afternoon. Bought these two for £1 each, shame about the cracked screen on the Merc but I do have donor cars. I can't see how it's happened either, almost looks like it happened at the factory Moving on to the 10am start sale, found a couple of sellers with lots of cars all at 50p or less. Don't often pick up moden Hot Wheels as I have so many but these either caught my eye or will be engine/wheel donors I have a handful of these Happy Meal ones with lights to get working again Blackwall color changer a few Matchbox, Corgi and Majorettes Bigger stuff, scored all these for 50p each. Especially Happy with the SD1 Amishtat, andrew e, Tenmil Socket and 6 others
