I always enjoy reading this thread, may your problems continue to be minor ones*, have you actually done anything to the other cars?

    *Hope I haven't jinxed it.

I did fix a small issue I was having with the Jag prior to parking it up. The air conditioning compressor electric clutch used to cut out occasionally due to some questionable wiring. I had bought a new connector for it but promptly put it in a very safe place which I finally found again, so it was finally fitted, removing the dodgy connector and some non standard spade connectors in the process.

In terms of actually getting it back on the road, I was just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

  2. Time for an overdue update:

The Corolla has started to develop a random miss fire that would come and go, eventually it died completely on the way home from work. Handily it managed to FTP near a friends house who came to my rescue and we determined that there was no spark. A new coil was purchased and fitted (old one appeared to be the original) which got it going again, but the spark was still poor. Further research found that the ignition control module in the distributor was the likely cause of the problem, so that was replaced and all was well again.

All the vacuum lines have been replaced as one had fallen off due to the hose perishing, so the whole lot got done. All seven million of them.

A filing cabinet was stuck in the boot for about a week, not recommended as it rattled like a bastard but it did look like I was running a budget hearse service.

And plenty of more kilometres have been covered, now 60,000km since purchase.

I do usually get flu every year, and I get told every year that I'm too young to get the flu jab which seems a bit daft if I'm susceptible to it.  I'll just wait until I'm whatever age you have to be for the jab, can't be long now, and at least this year I didn't get bronchitis or pnuemonia afterwards as I have some years.

I’ve never heard of someone being to young for the flu jab, I’ve had it every year since I was 20.

  4. The Second/Third Year Apprentice:

Male, around 20 years old, pathetic moustache/beard, awful haircut that cost far to much, wears one of those sleeveless T-shirts with massive arm holes.

Drives a new Toyota Hilux or Ford Ranger, purchased on finance, massive mud terrain tyres, two inch lift kit, multiple LED light bars, obnoxious exhaust, oversized eBay Chinese turbo with blow off valve, tray full of massive toolboxes.

Often seen making illegal overtaking manoeuvres on blind corners and crests, interior smells of watermelon vape, seen commonly in groups of likeminded apprentices parked on the nature strip outside the local dodgy night club attempting to pick up some skanky tart half full of vodka and red bull.

When driving to the job site during the week the vehicle will be heavily laden with timber and building supplies, usually unrestrained in the back or gaffer taped to the roof bars. Said supplies are near impossible to retrieve from the roof bars given the lift kit and mud tyres that have never seen a speck of mud in their lives.

Weekends will find this individual driving to a cash in hand job whilst still processing the drink from last night. Cash job taken on to help pay off the loan on the truck, and the accessories, and the tools, and the drink, and the money owed to the folks.

This is how it looked until the grill was removed broken.

I like the Magna TS. I wonder is Verada KS lights would fit and not have the same corrosion problems?

I just need a grill that fits with which ever lights I get.

All the light/grill combinations should be cross compatible.

Magna TS grill with Verada KS lights would be my combination too.

@Talbot has been looking into them and thinks Australian headlights will need a grill to match. I am happy to do that partially as my grill is broken anyway and as soon as we can find good useable parts I am ready to buy them.

It would surprise me if that was the case as the estates were all built in Australia, so in theory the headlamps should be the same.
This may also explain the build date/registration date confusion as it may have been some time between the car being built in Australia and it being shipped to the UK for sale. Being a presumably expensive when new car, given the trim level, that was only imported in small numbers making it very rare from new would explain it sitting in the dealership for some time before being sold.

If you are looking at getting a replacement grill, there are 4 different designs.

Im very glad to see that the Sigma estate has been saved! We had one as a family car when I was a child and I have quite the soft spot for them, especially the estates.

When looking in Australia for parts, keep in mind that is was called the Mitsubishi Magna in the home market, specifically it is a TS Magna (1994-1996) but the TR Magna (1991-1993) is essentially the same.

If you need any assistance in Australia sourcing spares, drop me a line.

I should also mention that as yours looks to be a posh spec one, the Magna was also sold in a more luxurious version called the Mitsubishi Verada (KR/KS).

If it’s headlamps you are looking for, may I recommend a set of Verada lamps as they look a bit nicer than the Magna lamps with the smoked look and gingercators.
