How many miles did you cover in 2024?

As we draw to a close, totted up the mileage in the fleet.

Focus - 4757miles (the vast majority of which is local journeys to/from the station, shops, etc. A couple of long trips when the Mondeo was out of use).

Mondeo - 5298miles (not bad for a car that I can't drive locally without paying the ULEZ; most of the miles done outside of town in consequence).

Capri has done about 100m on its own wheels, but that will change very early in 2025...

How far have you been in the fleet?

More serious fiesta and the z4 just do car stuff. Maybe 8000 between them. A40 done maybe 2500 but 1200 of them was in one weekend going from Burnley to Scotland and round then back. Would've done more but keep breaking gearboxes currently.

10,000 miles in the Rover 600.

2000 miles in the Hampshire

1100 in the Mayflower

1000 in the Princess

Posted

1500 in the Clio 182

2000 in the e320

1200 in the s124

10400 in the Zoë

13000 in the duster

110 in the Mégane (not taxed it yet or it'd be more, that is all to and fro pre-booked MOTs. )

2600 in the express.

Zoë is saving a fortune.

Civic: 10k (mostly by my wife commuting or if we are going somewhere that I need to know 100% there will be zero issue - I prefer my 330i otherwise if I'm in the car)

330i: ~5k (my main daily driver)

Z4: ~2.5k (when the weather is nice or fancy a change from the 330i)

Cayman: 1k (mostly in a couple of big trips)

Spitfire: ~80 (feel bad for barely using it this year)

MG Midget: 0

Dolomite Sprint: 0

No longer own but used this year

Golf Mk5 GTi: iirc 400

E320: iirc 1000

quite low for me actually, and pleasingly i expect next year to be even lower

15k or so in the XM

1k ish in the grandparents Picasso to keep it healthy with their excessive short trips

i'm hoping to manage less than 10k in 2025

Not a lot,

6000 in the B6 Passat

1000 in the Captur

1500 in the Ateca

I’m having to travel more through work now so I’ll likely do 10k in next year.

I don’t really enjoy driving much these days tbh.

Traction Avant: 8500 miles

DS: not sure, maybe 2000 miles

Chrysler New Yorker: almost zero

Herald: absolutely zero 😕

It isn't over yet, may add another dozen miles before the whistle blows.

Exposure innit. I literally never have to drive unless it's out in the truck or van for work. I reckon because of that I still get a childish joy even out of using the forklift. I can imagine if you have to drive a good distance to work day in day out that could get wearing quite quick.

For the last few years I've driven feck all miles as have worked exclusively at home.

So last year I sold my 16yr old 'modern' and bought a shite old Volvo as with the miles I do it'll not matter.

So I obviously got a new job where I need to go into the orifice again. 😂

Still only managed just over 2k on it though but most of this is August to November.

Focus about 10k

.Miss C has done about 8k in her Corsa and I've done about 50.

Breaker 405 about 300 collecting it and running around for a week before the MOT ran out.

About 3 on the motorbike on a private (ish) road.

Probably 3k in work vans and cars

5 in my friends VW Up because I wanted to drive a vehicle beginning with U to complete the alphabet.

Not many, probably about 4-5000.
I live in a big city, work three miles from home and all my mates and what little family I have left all live within 20-odd miles of me. A nice day out run in the summer is usually less than 100 miles. For that reason I DGAF about fuel consumption and I keep eyeing up V8 Range Rovers...

Somehow I've managed to drive about 2000 in the Jag since putting in on the the road 2 months ago.

Not entirely sure how I managed that

Can we see more Hampshire please? ( The Austin not the county)

15,000 in a Citroen XM. Impressive.

Mine:

Toyota Landcruiser - 0 parked all year.

Citroen C15 van - about 3500 and every mile great fun.

1985 Nissan Cedric - about 300.

And...

Decathlon cycle - about 1000.

Hyundai i10: Not sure what the mileage was at the beginning of the year...maybe 43,000 (based on the mileage quoted in a post I made on 26 February). Currently on 47,412 miles so around 4,412 miles.

It's just an A to B car.

C180K: about 12000

Dyane: around 2500

DS3: couple of hundred or so keeping it running while Domestic Management was unable to drive

Blingo: for the first time ever, a BIG FAT ZERO, though it has covered some miles on @worldofceri's trailer and on the A-frame behind @Talbot's Swabian Battlecruiser...

Honda Accord covered just under 9000 miles and my Subaru did about 2500 miles.

Probably covered a few hundred miles in my better halves Vitara.

The Rover 827 has covered about 50 feet moving between the drive and the garage and back again and again and back again.

None of the others have really moved.

approx 14 miles added to the mileometer.

For me:  E300 has done it's usual 30-ish-k per year.  Might be slightly less this year as I've not got an exact figure from this time last year.  C250 has done a thousand or so.

Absolutely no idea.

Speedo doesn't work properly in the range rover of too many wheels, and I use the satnav as a Speedo.

Escort is on restricted mileage, but out of MOT since August.

Cortina estate, same as Rrc 😁

Bought the Rexton in April and about 8000.At least 2000 in the Zafira before I part exchanged it.MrsDs Korando does just under 10000 between MOTs and I do a few hundred in the Renault 25 and a few in my cousins Astra when I coaxed it through its MOT.

Cars - 3000 miles

Bicycles - 8000 miles

Trains - probably a lot more

I live in biblical congestion land so driving is rarely an enjoyable or productive experience. Human or public transport power tends to win the day.
