Ghosty
Any combination remotely close to my name or birthday is out, and I don't have a middle initial either, which makes plates hard for me. That and my habit of driving early 90s cars. I've had a couple of cars with private plates on them but they'd been on the cars so long they wouldn't go on to retention without sending the logbook off so I didn't bother keeping them - H14 DGK on a ropey MX5, and A10 CLP on that shitheap Accord Aerodeck I bought purely for lols. gm
as the Exo had sneaked ever so slightly* over budget, it seemed churlish not to chuck another £250 at it for a fancy plate the first (and probably only) time i’ve bought a private plate, i’m quite proud of how old my mx5 is so happy to keep its original plate and my daily changes so often it would bankrupt me swapping plates every few months and anything with my initials MJB costs silly money LightBulbFun, MiniMinorMk3, Split_Pin and 3 others

Metal Guru
I once had a car with A234NKP. Just changed my name by deed poll to Norman Keith Parkinson. Cheaper than a plate with my real initials on!

How did you get those plates with the Scottish flag Tam? I only asked for a Devon flag on some plates a few months ago and was flatly refused “as it’s not legal blah blah blah bollocks” Very cool ‘ private’ number by the way! Sham
You can have country flags, anything else isn't allowed unless you buy show plates and use them illegally. https://www.gov.uk/displaying-number-plates/flags-identifiers-and-stickers

Jerzy Woking
Plate bought for £249. Sold the van with it on, although the buyer said I could keep it, as she was putting her grandfather's plate on it. No such thing as personal plates here in Spain, so you get whatever comes on the vehicle. AnnoyingPentium and Dave_Q
Robin
Not yet on the car, but since I now have 7 MK1 espaces in my possession I figured I should accept my inevitable demise into lunacy and speed up the process somewhat with a surprisingly expensive number plate.
