If mince pies are so nice(they're not IMO), why don't we have them all year round?

Type 2 diabetes?  Fat and sugar content, especially if warmed up and served with double cream, would kill you quicker if it were all year around.

Ah, just remembered I forgot to give a dog some attention earlier and now I can't stop thinking about it.

I walked past him at our friendly MOT station, he's a labrador and gave me that look that they do when they want to say hello.

Made a mental note that I'll quickly drop the keys in as the car might be in the way then I'll go back to say hello

Except I forgot.

I can't help but think he must have wondered why I walked past him. Twice.

I know it's silly. But it's just one of those things that nag away 😅

Next time, take him a nice biscuit and explain how the biscuit shop he saw you going to earlier didn't have any nice biscuits so you had to go to the other biscuit shop to fetch him a nice biscuit so you weren't empty handed when you visited him. He's a good boy, he''ll understand. 🐶

You know the film "The quiet earth" where Bruno Lawrence wakes up and every other person on the planet has disappeared? they make it out to be post-apocalyptic in the film, he's dead sad driving around the place trying to find some other people etc (and he scuttles that pretty ginger lass eventually), but lately I'm quite frequently wishing that it'd happen to me. Mainly the people disappearing part, but I wouldn't say no to 1980s Alison Routledge.

One of the reasons I moved here - some days I see nobody, other days just the postman. I love it. Many others hate it.

Anywhere in West or Mid Wales that's North of Carmarthen, South of Snowdonia and not on the coast. So most of Powys and Ceredigion  - also creeps over the border into England - parts of West Shropshire/Herefordshire.
Back home - South & East Ayrshire in places, Galloway and Borders also in places.
Anyplace (I'd suggest) that's more than 2 or 3 hours from an airport (we're about 3 from Birmingham/Manchester/Cardiff).

I'm very much thinking I need to rethink my life. Working 6/7 days a week to afford to live in the peak district. It's beautiful but it just gets so busy (because it's accessible) and house prices are stupid, because it's accessible. I'm autistic and being around people drains me so much.

Most of my work is done by post. I should really split the business in half, get someone else to run the more industrial stuff then scale down and work out of a garage on my own in the middle of nowhere.

I sneezed yesterday and it has absolutely fucked my back to the point where it looks like I have shat myself when I walk. I've reached middle age at 23, and I haven't even owned anything beige yet. Suppose I'll be up a few times in the night for a piss now too.

I emailed the MD of the company named on the labels, they had sold the goods to someone who had a burglary on-site and nicked all the copper and dumped these empty boxes, so not their fault. But they did send a man in a van who cleared everything up within an hour of me emailing them. What a fantastic response. One for the happy thread, I guess :)

I'm sure you already have, but make sure to put out the word on Twitter as to the good job they've done sorting out something that wasn't their fault :)

Done already, I even went to the location with my gloves to help tidy up, and took some cold beers as a thank you, but they'd gone. I've had a nice email exchange with the MD, too. Thanks.

That's not 'middle age' at your time of life - that's 'talk to your GP and get it sorted'...

I moved like this almost 9 years ago  from  overcrowded area to the middle of nowhere and  it is the best decision of my life. So can be recommended.

Bridvegas had this huge outrun 2 in an arcade.

It was 4 cars, full movement, the bomb. It also ate pound coins all day long.

It's gone. There's one of these poxy vr games instead.

Things I've noticed. These things are everywhere. They're also 3 quid a go. They're either broken, or nobody is playing them.

Who actually wants them? Feel like a solution to a problem that isn't there. I vaguely get the earlier ones where you had a bloke operating it. But punter controlled? Strap yourself in and cover your eyes for the robbery of your life...

Me and my wife are going to retire in China in about 10 years. Personally I can't bloody wait. I know it may be hard but we have an apartment in a small town near Guangzhou. I can't wait to leave this country and the ' rat race' . If we can go sooner we will. A colleague at work has just been diagnosed with brain cancer, he had been getting a bit confused on occasion, this gives me more determination. Life is to short, do what you need to do to be happy chap, you won't regret it.

Our village has an old disused red phone box that during Lockdown was changed into a "give and take" for books, games etc kitted out with shelves.
The number of people that donate books and put them in with the spine facing the back is unreal. Surely it's not too difficult to place them with the spines facing the front.

Spent weekend-before-last heaving engines, toolboxes and other heavy stuff around.  No problems at all.  Straight-back lift for anything heavy, and all was good.

last weekend I throw my back out.  Lifting a bag of cat litter.

Every year the RAC renew my full whistles and bells breakdown cover for free.

Recently I have informed them of my change of address and now they have emailed me back saying my complimentary staff membership has been cancelled as it appears I am no longer employed by the RAC.

How very dare they. I quit in 2018 so it's only taken them five years to bloody realise...

Just tried to book my HGV course.

Unfortunately the company cannot get a test that week - trying to get annual leave is like trying to push blancmange up a chimney with a fishing rod - I booked that particular week to get it done.

Arses.

They mentioned a split week but that is dependant on when I can do the second part and if a test slot is available.

Well I thought that but they did recover a freshly purchased Hiace from Bodmin to Kent.

And they didn't skimp i got the full RAC experience as they broke the ignition key in the door lock and lost the van for 24 hours at a contractors yard in Southampton.

Is that so passing peeps can see the  spine info from outside rather than having to go in a smoll space and contort their  spines to read spines ?

I have never seen as many spiders as I have this year.

I don't mind them but they seem to be spinning webs everywhere - even the doorway to the shit house.
