@LightBulbFunI was looking up some other Fiat stuff and thought of this, and the final drive ratio for the 1967 Fiat 500F  is 5.125:1.  There may of course be variations, but probably only slight. HTH.

Has the Berlingo got two radios?!  There’s one at the top of the dash and presumably one in the usual space under the big flap halfway down the centre console?

As far as my understanding goes. The original radio lives there for... well, originality's sake. The aftermarket one hides behind the wee flap hingy and is the one that gets used.

There are around 8 YT videos on this project. There are other social media platforms he published about this on too. I noticed in a period of 20 hours  nobody could be bothered to answer  question. Maybe that is a clue.

I don’t have the time to sit through 8 videos to find a simple answer to a question.  I thought someone here would know the answer and help me out!  Thankfully @AnnoyingPentiumwas that person!

I watch a lot of Hubnut content, and enjoy it a lot.  I don’t however have the time or the inclination to watch every minute of every video!

It's not only me then, that prefers to read up to an A4 of text than to sit through a 2.5 minute+ video.

That, and the radio he fitted, the Amazon reviews for it said the clock display was very bright and there was no way to dim it, so he decided to hide it behind the flap so if it was annoying he could just close it to hide the display, i.e for night driving.

@dollywobbler I was just watching the latest Q&A video (which I have time stamped for anyone wondering WTF im on about LOL)

and you mentioned you have enough bits to buildup a second 2CV for the Hublets to learn to drive in, and that one of them even wants to specifically learn in a 2CV, but you then mooted that idea in favour of a regular City C1 type car

PLEASE dont moot the 2CV idea!

as someone who has fairly recently learnt to drive and is also an old car enthusiast, like the Hublets seem to be

my experience driving a 2CV was the best and most confidence boosting to my driving ability

and I think you, Miss Dollywobbler and the Hublets all building the 2CV up together, would be a great family bonding exercise (it would also probably make for good video content should ya wish to record it)

 

certainly I wish I had such opportunities when I was growing up and If there was a driving school that specifically used a 2CV they probably would of had all of my money LOL

 

you get so much more road feel and knowing of what the vehicle is doing in a 2CV, then you do in a modern car, so it just boosts confidence massively as you actually feel like your in direct control when your in a 2CV, which you are!

Sorry folks. Have been cruising across The Netherlands in the Berlingo. Which is BLOODY AWESOME. Drove 333 miles in it yesterday.

I love the look of the original radio, so left it where it is. Hate the look of modern stereos, so great to hide it below the flap. 

2CV build definitely not off the cards. 2024 is the deadline...

You could purchase a CantaLX. They are not cheap.

The reason why they are so narrow is so they can use the cycle-lanes. They do not need a APK (MOT) and no licnce is required to drive them. Did you notice the pulley is poking below the front?

According to records the Mercedes-Benz T2 was registered on 7 Nov 1976. Naturally (for the Dutch)  it runs on LPG. It has a 90hp 2.3L engine.

I think any car used for a driving test has to be fitted with a head restraint on the front passenger seat for the examiner. 

Can you imagine the examiner asking the Show And Tell question of where do you top up the coolant?

Is a 2cv capable of 100kph?

How many examiners are familiar with A Series Citroens? Most would think you're pulling off in second!

indeed! in a couple threads I have tried to work out what the shitest vehicle one can take a full Category B  driving test in

so far the best I can think of is a Trabant, which bar the MPH speedo (which would not be hard to solve with an insert) ticks all the requirement boxes 

 

and yeah as you say some of the show and tell my questions could be quite amusing  

"When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you’d set the rear demister?"

*bursts out laughing* 

or

"When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you wash and clean the front windscreen?"

a 602cc 2CV will do 70Mph eventually!, and I know Dollywobbler got Elly, 652cc equipped, up to 80 on the Autobahn!

Second hand London taxis tend to be cheap because the mileage is usually massive , often 300 000 + miles . There’s one on autotrader with 485 000.

Just watched the Astra video. When i had comapny cars I also had to have one o f these too. Again a white Merit but diesel powered (non Turbo). You did not mention diesel in the video. The acceleration was as slow as a sea turtle when it moves up the beach. It was affected by the air turbulence from lorries when over taking them. It really shook. It was however better than the Escort (Mk5) as far as handling goes, as you rightly pointed out. If I remember correctly the interior materials were better on the Escort. I think I had an LX so it also had a sunroof.

Are Daewoo Nexia counted in those production figures quoted?

It was getting lower, then it went bang. It's something they do, even when they're not overloaded. At 175,000 miles, with an engine hoist in the back and a folding camper, I guess I pushed the ageing components too far. Seriously, if your Berlingo/Partner is starting to sag, get the axle swapped! I'm just very glad it went at very slow speed in a car park.

Festival of the Unexceptional this weekend, and the Berlingo clearly isn't going to make it. Now hastily trying to acquire parts to convert the Fairmont to UK tow ball and wiring...
