Is this the same one you had in Rugeley, Keef?

This is a filthy deisel with keep fit gearbox :(

I'm not sure grin is the right word but if you want to watch the most powerful , moving and thought provoking programme that's been on TV in years

Watch Chernobyl, it's definitely one not to miss

On sky / now TV

Which is already bringing out the

"why are they no people of colour cast in the show" whining from various US individuals.....

To be fair, it wouldn't make the story any less real.

In the same way that if a story were set before 1981 and the hero was run over by a facelift mk2 cavailer.

My grin is accidentally fixing the heated rear window in the Corolla. I went to turn it on today, remembered it didn’t work, then angrily flicked the switch in frustration when suddenly the tell-tale light came on after about a dozen flicks. Success!
On the downside, there is a dead element right in the middle of the screen.

After many years, tonight & unexpectedly, I met the local mechanic, who had a bad stroke eight years ago.  He has tentatively started driving again, in a wonderfully-pogweasled Peugeot 106 Diesel.

Ah, it's not that exciting... it's just that Mrs_SA will only really stay on sites where's there's mains etc. So, I read The Manual, and the  distribution panel on our van allows for connection of a solar charge controller. Those two folding panels provide 200W, so should be able to keep our leisure battery going in more remote locations, I've bought all the bits and pieces needed to install them; might write it up in the caravan thread.

Took the kids into tavistock today. Walking round the market and my little lad ,in his loud voice shouts. "Why is everyone here so old". Never mind be back oop north tomorrow. Where when you speak to a stranger they don't look at you in a mad way and scurry off. There was also a glimmering hope for shitefest visit on Saturday.  Social worker rang me to say the little cherub who was coming Friday seems to be helping police with some enquiries. Woo , thought I.  No need to go back. This was short-lived has another young person is coming to stay permanently.

This post on the 'one single thing that makes you think knob' thread on Pistonheads:

Quote

Small dead end street with terraced houses each side. I park up and just about to get out of the van when the resident of the house I've parked outside storms outside.

'Did you not see the sign?!'
'What sign?'
'RESIDENTS ONLY!!'
'Oh no, sorry, I'm just..'
'I don't care! Move your van! I don't want to look at it through my window!'
'But I'm...'
'GET YOUR VAN OFF MY STREET'

30 minutes later I get a phone call...

'Hello mate, just wondering when you're going to be turning up, my internet still isn't working and you said you'd be here at 11'
'Yes I turned up but you told me to get off your street, so I did'
'Sorry mate, I didn't mean it. Can you come back?'
'No'. Hung up and rejected his next two attempts to call.

Nice one!

I believe it would originally have graced the flanks of one of these beasts...

Mebbe if I bury it in the border and water it, a new Datsun Bluebird will grow...

the family of 9 went on to cross the busy two lane roundabout where the red and white van is - must be a regular occurrence as the birds were totally confident in the traffic :)

when I lived in Australia I drove one of those about. It was my cousins car and didn't it go!

It left streaks of rubber, didn't shake about like Escorts, yet (to me in my Blighty Blinkered era) I expected it to be so Grandad. I was blinkered, growing up in the eighties when these cars were still laughed at. It was eye opening, after the Marina.

I bought some pizza delivery juice from Tesco.

It actually represents quite a good saving, and I swear MavisNotMavis gains a bit of power on it!

Edited to add: small grump in that now I have 10 empty 3L bottles to dispose of.

Maybe 100% isn't the way to go then. Took a lot of cranking and it smoked like that on the throttle until it was hot. A haze developed around the yard while a slightly lumpy idle coughed out chip shop smoke. I think it's funny, but not hugely practical.

On the subject of private regs, a colleague has KA51ER K.

His name is Kaiser (K is the surname)

I now call him Kasier.

It's a BMW.

With a dyslexic private reg.

BEARD, obvs! If he got this one, and another one with the reg 'B3 ARD' and parked the avensis on the right and the '83ARD' car on the right and then it'd be really funny for about 200 weird people on the internet for like 18 seconds?
