You've soiled your gusset.

Rags for high speed cars. They arrive with skid marks.

Could have been worse. At least there's more there to wipe your hands on than there would have been with a g-string.

Slightly better.

Have I mentioned I bloody hate having to park 50% of the cars by trees?

I was planning on cleaning the van too as it's also turning green, but the pressure washer just exploded so that's the end of that plan for now.  Hopefully I can reattach the bit which decided to eject itself.

Ah, I wondered where they'd gone. If I PM you my address can you send them back please? They're my favourite pair.

This is an odd one, I'm not sure what's caused it.  Heard an unravelling noise inside the welder and found the wire seems to have burned out inside the plastic wire guide.  I'm guessing it's worn through the guide tube and shorted on the casing, basically welding itself in place.  Can't get the bit of wire out, so I also can't thread fresh wire in.  Happened mid-weld too and the welder has been behaving really well today, laying down some lovely welds.  Puts the brakes on progress somewhat until I can figure out what I need to get to fix the welder, hopefully I can just get a spare part and don't have to replace the whole machine.

What's extra annoying is it meant I couldn't finish the inner arch repair which had been going really rather well today.

Using your own old pants as an oil rag is normal, using a strangers is just urghhh.

I just rang up the garage to book Billy in for an MOT.

Chap says, 'Oh, it's you again, you twat'. Much to my chagrin, I heard him yell across to his mates, 'It's that soft fuck on the phone again'.

And do you know, he hung up on me!

I would pop down and ask him to book me in for an MOT in person and ask him to say it again to my face. I'd take "Danny"* to film him.  If he repeats it, I'd pass the film on to VOSA who won't be happy.

Danny being a generic stereo typical hard man that doesn't like his weird friends abused verbally or otherwise.

That's just pants.

My brother always had a deal with the local church jumble sale that he would give them a few quid for anything left over to use as rags for the workshop. Unfortunately this often ended up with the mechanics dressing up my sister's dog with stuff. (it could have been worse, they could have been dressing each other up)

It was not unusual to see the dog wandering around wearing a dress. Somewhere I have a photo of her out at the petrol pumps wearing a vest and shorts (they did cut a hole for her tail)

Your rag supplier didn't own @cms206's Council Estate once did they?

Put the Bini up for sale on a R53 Facebook group for £675... Wish me luck!

Turns out FB messenger has a Spam folder and I've missed a whole load of people messaged me. Who knew 🤷

Anyway got someone coming tomorrow morning to view it. Four other people after it, including one that is a breaker. Rather it didn't go to a breaker but cash is cash. It's straight and clean but not exactly a super rare car.

Spotted this quality front door yesterday…

I bet the letterbox and lock are hydraulic and the door can still open normally at speeds of up to 40mph if you detach one of the 4 hinges.

Oh no, which bit suicided itself on it?

LHS rear lower arm was the reason it was cheap.

I've just discovered that Gabriela Irimia is now a sales executive at Minstergate Hyundai in York, whilst her twin sister Monica Taylor is employed in a similar position at Read Hyundai in Boston, Lincs. Gigs have apparently been a bit thin on the ground recently...

Someone in Hyundai UK HR clearly thought this was a PR coup.

Sold the Bini. Local guy in his 40s who used to have a lot of classic Alfas but sold them off and has got into R53s. He tried to knock me down but I had a whole line of people waiting. Knocked off a bit and I accepted as everyone likes a deal. Had it up for £675 and sold for £650. £300 loss over what I paid and about £400 off what it owes me. But annoying as I don't like loosing money however for cars, it is chicken feed sort of loss really.

Then went down to Devon to pick up the Boxster after it's new window fitted. Done a very good job and was only £222 all in. Only irritation is the window has two line of stiches now which hacks me off a bit. Given the other option was to spend £770 on a new hood, this was a much cheaper option and I get to keep an original Porsche hood rather than an aftermarket replacement.

As I was down Devon, I visited here as I've never been. Last week this year it's open until next year. He did mention he opens some Sundays in the winter though. I'll do another post later with all the pictures I took.
