DVee8 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 No change for myself, MrsV8 or @BJHR. N02 son replaced the R50 Mini one, with a E93 320i, One owner from 6 months old with only 59k miles when we got it. This in itself has caused problems as for the last 5-7 years it only did 3000 miles a year around the doors, as the school run and gym. But the roof is off every chance he gets. calebaaront Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 So I started the year with A 2010 Renault Clio Estate Also a 1963 Rover P4 110 Out went the P4 and in came the 1996 Daimler Hearse Then the Clio ended up going as I need something bigger so the 1996 Toyota Lucida joined the fleet. Then in August I acquired the Silver Shadow, Out went the Lucida as we needed a “modern car” as we’re due another little sprog. So in came the 2001 Audi A4 Avant Around 2 weeks later the Rolls left the fleet and my 2006 Audi A6 Avant joined. The A4 left about 2 weeks later when I acquired a 2000 Skoda Octavia, this lasted a few days before I sold it. Now onto the last car I bought this year, the hearse was sold to my Dad when I bought another P4! So that’s 7 new cars in and 7 out! Mudster, High Jetter, grogee and 11 others 14
Dyslexic Viking Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 There is a month left in the year, but as long as I don't crash the Hyundai, nothing is likely to change. So for the second year in a row, there is no car purchases. So staying. Hyundai i10 which does a fine job as a winter beater and sensible transport and the 1963 Mercedes Benz 190DC which just keeps going, over 1400 km on this in this year's season, which was done without any problems and was totally reliable. Not bad for a 60+ year old high mileage ex taxi. And out Opel Vivaro. Mudster, DVee8, Wibble and 17 others 20
83C Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Started the year with: Range Rover - still in fleet. Vauxhall VXR8 - still in fleet. Bentley Arnage - still in fleet. Triumph Tiger - out. Peugeot 106 - out. Kia Rio - out. During the year there were a few purchases: Skoda Fabia - in and out. Honda Firestorm - in and out. Land Rover Discovery - in and out. Mini Clubman - in and out. Seat Ibiza - in. BMW E61 525d - in. Subaru Sambar - in. Honda Super Blackbird - in. I’m putting myself on a bit of a buying ban for a while and I do need to reduce the fleet further, so the Sambar and probably the 5-series will be for sale soon. straightSix, brownnova, MrGTI6 and 15 others 18

catsinthewelder Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 I'm almost definitely not buying anything and the cars I've been meaning to sell/scrap have been in that state for years so; One in. None out. 8 non movers (some of them literally). The purchase was supposed to have left by now. I bought it as an engine donor for my 405 but then found whats wrong with mine and it doesn't need a whole engine. I could use the windscreen but that's something I can't change myself. It's very worn out and rusty after 320k but I'm still struggling to rip it apart. The other 405 is still here and runs, really should just swap bits onto it and get it MOTed. Also here is my daily Focus and Miss Cat's Corsa, the Dacia that still won't start, the Keeway I should have MOTed and sold over the summer. The Rover 200 collection of sheds really need to leave (xbollox 220, ex Dollywobbler Disco 200tdi and Freightrover 200 camper). Marshall2810, Six-cylinder, Supernaut and 6 others 9

The Old Bloke Next Door Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Unusually I have only bought one vehicle this year, a very late registered MG ZS, which was advertised for sale on here, only done around 500 miles in it since August, so far so good, no problems. My Renault van has completed a trouble free year, possibly will be selling in the spring as I am downsizing accommodation and may have nowhere off road to park it. Another years use out my Freelander, two new tyres, alternator and battery. And subject to inspection, sold the Fiorinio. Six-cylinder, Popsicle, loserone and 2 others 5
Zelandeth Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Pretty quiet year really. IN. [] 2007 Volvo V70 D5 SE. Immensely practical, immensely comfy and slightly alarmingly quick car that does everything. OUT: [] 2006 Peugeot Partner 1.6HDi Escapade. Will definitely miss this one. Was just rendered somewhat redundant with the arrival of the Volvo and I didn't have room for both. Non-Movers. [] 1988 Renault 25 Monaco. Though this will need to move on in the new year. I just don't have the patience or time needed to deal with the spares situation. I love the car but finding parts is just such a giant pain. [] 1984 Sinclair C5. Literally hasn't been out of the shed this year. [] 1984 Trabant P601S. Currently broken, but will be getting sorted soon. [] 1975 Rover P6 3500. Probably moving on in the new year. Have enjoyed it, but haven't gelled with it as much as I'd expected. MGB I think is going to be next on the list. Not saying it wouldn't be another P4 either, the one I had last year has definitely left both an impression and something of a void. [] 1973 AC Model 70. Not been out nearly enough this year, really need to do more next year. Really need to reduce numbers by at least one this coming year. CaptainBoom, Split_Pin, Popsicle and 6 others 9

RoverFolkUs Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 This year turned from a rather boring pair of utterly reliable cars to an MG/Rover rescue centre! Carried forward: 2006 Citroen Xsara picasso, Been here nearly 3 years and hasn't put a foot wrong once. I can't find a single photo of it 😂 - it's currently on around 46/47k miles and all I've done to it is replace a leaking power steering pressure switch for the MOT earlier this year and serviced it a couple of months ago. Fully expect this not to go anywhere unless something catastrophic goes wrong with it! It's simply so useful to keep around as a load lugger/practical family pool car. 2006 Ford Focus Been here for over 5 years now! Currently parked up surplus to requirements, has done about 4k miles this year as a runabout, the replacement engine still going strong, hasn't skipped a beat once. MOT is due soon although it shouldn't need anything. Off memory all I've had to do this year is replace the gear change cables and a set of wipers! Not sure what the future has in store for this one and whether it will still be here next year. It's a toss up between this and the Citroen but I think the Citroen is more useful than this. It's a well sorted "an car" which I don't want to sell for peanuts. I'd rather keep it as a spare car or until someone I know needs a reliable set of wheels. In: 2005 MG ZR105 Trophy SE Very much an impulse purchase, bought for scrap money in need of some TLC. I've spent quite a bit of time getting it well sorted having done a top end rebuild to rectify the OMGHGF, sorting the cosmetics and mechanicals, welding marathon currently in progress. Having got it running sweet I'm using this as a runaround at the moment mainly to put some miles on it and ensure all is ok. It's quite a bit of fun but doesn't serve a purpose on fleet so it will go very soon. 1997 Rover 620ti Freshly rescued from the jaws of the crusher! Having heard the death knell at @fatharris towers I absolutely could not resist giving it a second chance so had it trailered up here for it to see the road again! Immediate plans are to get it through the MOT and go through it and address what it needs to give it the best chance. It doesn't look like it needs much in this department as fatharris has done a great job of doing so to date, although I will endeavour to put a fresh cambelt kit on ASAP. I've already got a set of 4 tyres to go on along with some repair panels to help with the welding. Not sure what the future holds for this car but so far I have sensed it combines the practicality of the Focus and the fun of the MG so I think it may stay for a little while. Out - ....nothing! That's the Autoshite spirit, right?! Plans for 2025? Most likely will involve moving the MG on, quite possibly the Focus too. The Rover is likely to stay, and so is the Citroen. I *still* have not scratched the Rover 75/MG ZT/ZT-T itch. Maybe once I've got space I'll find a nice one to rescue as the next project. MG ZS180 is also very much on the bucket list! dozeydustman Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 In: 2011 Hyundai i30 diesel estate. Purchased this morning. The 205 phase 1 of a few shiters. Reliving my late teens and early 20s at the ripe age of 46. Would prefer a 3-door but I’m a sucker for a suitcase engine. Non moving: Stepdaughter’s Kia Rio Son in law’s Saab 9-3 OG Going this week: My 9-3 wagon. Been a great workhorse for a just under 3 years but time to move it on as a WBOD to another shiter. Awaiting sale: The C2. Great little car and a real hoot to throw around, but with grandchild on the way we need something that is nondescript and a bit more practical for the wife and stepdaughter to use, as I know there will be lots of days out for monkey with nana and grandad dustbin coming up, and the travel system won’t fit in the boot of the C2. Had I not bought the 205 I would daily this myself but I can’t afford the tax and insurance on 3 cars. Popsicle and Six-cylinder 2

Schaefft Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Consults Excel document... Out: 523i E39 Touring - bought to avoid having to rent a car while back home, now sold to local enthusiast. In and out: The forum bike Audi A8 Sport - fantastic car, sold because thought I'd move into new house soon, still hasn't happened! Would take back immediately. X300 Jaguar XJ Sport - given on here as free car, unfortunately too far gone so parted out and sold to local enthusiast to be possibly saved. Made me realize that I need an XJR in this fantastic color! In: X300 Jag XJ6 manual - Bought from @horriblemercedes as I felt that manual XJs for sensible money don't come along very often. Visited Shedfest on the same day where Tom Lenthall himself was impressed with my purchase. He also encouraged me to swap an XJR6 engine into it so that'll happen eventually. Improved lots since. Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon JTD 20V - Bought from @HMC while on holidays in Sicily, hugely impressed by the torque and sound of the 5-cylinder engine, so fun! Waiting in line for an MOT. Maserati Coupe manual - When you have the chance to buy a manual-equipped Maserati 4200 from a shiter you don't wait around. Also previously owned by @horriblemercedes, might finally have an MOT next week! Mazda Xedos 9 Millercycle - I always loved Mazdas of the early 90s but haven't owned one since my Xedos 6 12 years ago. When the owner of this rare supercharged Xedos 9 reached out to me I couldn't say no. Currently at my mate's in Norfolk, hence no update. X300 Jaguar XJR- People on here know by now who will sooner or later buy their car as long as the price is right and the engine big enough. And so I ended up with @320touring's moon-mileage XJR. Now with an MOT, needs a few things but should be fun to smoke around in. BMW E39 528i - Bought locally as its an ideal breaker for my manual 528i in the same color. Serious engine issues and auto unfortunately prevent this one from returning to the road. Renault VelSatis 3.5 V6 Collected yesterday and hopefully the last purchase of the year. Bought from @blackbart, really like it so far. Stay: The list is now so long that I can't be bothered to post them all. See last year's post for images and description. Only noteworthy additions for this year: - Olds Aurora abandoned in Germany is now abandoned at my parents instead of seller's yard - Buick Riviera finally received a little attention, needs a fuel pump - Opel Senator received quite a bit of attention, steering column replaced, should really get it registered and MOT'd - Toyota Celsior returned on the road this year after a decade off the road, major achievement, will receive more attention in the new year - W140 500SEL front suspension rebuild is almost completed - Cadillac Deville travelled to Paris Olympics - BMW Z3 completed NC500 - S500 Coupe had OMGHGF diagnosed after finally running Takeaways: Again more cars bought than sold! This year the majoity of cars were acquired on the forum. I blame everyone on here. Edit: Knew it was too early, another one in! wesacosa, Coprolalia, straightSix and 16 others 19
straightSix Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Quiet one for me as well. Not had much mojo for car related stuff this year and can't see me doing anything before Jan. Out: Alfa sold on here. Still in the fold I believe. Also a Honda cbf125 swapped for a CB500. No photos of either. Cb500 came to me as a project and is staying as a project In: BMW E83 X3. Rough as fuck but getting the job done Jaguar xjr. Technically I've owned this a few years but was at a garage all last year Non-movers: Still got my Trev. Found the chassis is crusty so it's currently off the road awaiting rebuild Vfr750. Needs oil cooler pipes as they're pissing over the exhaust. Volksy Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 No movement here. To be honest I'm far more smitten with the big old lummox than I should be. It got a clean pass on the MOT back in April, so unless anything catastrophic happens (which I sincerely hope doesn't) it'll be staying indefinitely. grogee, Six-cylinder, worldofceri and 6 others 9
Tommyboy12 Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Busy one for me this year. In First in was the Rover 25 GTi communal bike won on the very forum. Here it is in it's only outing for the year... Next up was the Austin Cambridge again from this forum. I really enjoyed using this throughout the summer. It was great fun and I enjoyed fixing all the little things like the horns and Speedo. Next up to arrive was this beast. I've been thoroughly enjoying it since it's arrival. Lastly this year is probably the biggest heap I've bought in a long time... It has literally needed everything mechanical. Out First out was the Bug in January. Sold when I was trying to sell my Mégane Second out shortly after was the aforementioned Megane. This was sold to a forum member who updated me of its second trip to the Nurburgring in the summer this year! The 25 GTi didn't last long as I blew a hole in the piston... Thankfully @sharley17194 put a new bottom end in it and it's still bombing it's way about somewhere After the GTi was another MG Rover product. This time with a rag top. My advice to anyone buying one of these is don't bother with the weird Steptronic gearbox. Or just bother at all with one of these... Also out was the Cambridge. Off for a life of film apparently. Or that could have been bull and it went round the oval. I've no idea really. Non-Movers I will never sell this. It puts a smile on my face constantly. It's had a lot more use and love this year and hasn't been tucked away for winter quite yet. I've enjoyed multiple road trips in this one too this year. It's been to Wales a couple of times as well as loads of car shows I probably need to finish this one... But I've made really solid progress on the rust this year! Also a Non-Mover in the literal sense... This has been broken for the best part of 18 months and I really need to retrieve it and fix it Datsuncog, IronStar, Matty and 12 others 15
