Tayna batteries....

Being lazy I assumed I'd get the same next day experience as last time I ordered. Evidently they've changed hands and are now a shit show.

Day 4 and no battery despatched. I'm off to ECP now as we need the car back.

Told Tayna to cancel, apparently I cant because its 'picked and packed' (but still not despatched). That really means "theres a fuck off pile of batteries in the wharehouse an I cant be assed to go and find yours"

Apparently I have to send it back when it eventually arrives or refuse delivery. Seems a massive waste of everyones time.

Shame to see a previously good company in such a state but I'd recommend to avoid.

I didn't know that had happened.  Real shame as they used to be second to none.

The final straw.

Microsoft have gone too far... Me and Xbox are done.

Retailer black list update:

Argos - Made numerous faffs and messed up orders including a complete failure of a home delivery of poor qwality products.

Mcdonalds - Always getting the order incorrect and short. (never over is it?) Even bashing my card once for 90 quid.

Microsoft Xbox - Not being as clear as they should be, complicated to use with my kids, and inflating prices... continuously.

All fast food delivery services, Deliveroo was the only decent one left, and now that's in the list - Poorly produced and presented food, at ever inflating prices

I ordered one from them on Saturday afternoon last week and it arrived on Monday so I was super impressed! Maybe I got lucky!

I know a lot of people who have  cancelled their Game Passes as the pricing has just gone ridiculous.....

It was openly racist. It was perfectly legal for boarding houses to have signs saying “no blacks or Irish”.

Absolutely incorrect.

That purchase of TB was done in 2023. https://wolk-aftersales.com/tayna-limited-acquired-by-alliance-automotive-group-uk/

Probably taken them since then to lay off all the experienced staff and full it with a load of incompetence..🙄

It may be that the business was only maginally profitable and they've had to lay staff off due to the ever increasing costs of employing them.

I've certainly found them very good in the past so it's a shame if they've come to this.

Don't worry, someone will be along to say "enshittification" in a moment.

Just tell them you’re Catholic, they then leave sharpish.

True.  Equally effective is answering the door with a feather duster in one hand and saying to the religious type, 'I don't know, I'm only the cleaner'.

I've also managed to get rid of them by saying that the creation of Heaven on Earth is more than possible if we, collectively, begin to follow the teachings of Karl Marx.

I got rid of one lot by telling them that I was in fact Jesus and I was very cross with them.

I used to know someone who's mum was a complete religious nut, and used to argue with them on the doorstep.

She was Catholic, I think they were quite glad to get away eventually 🤣

My sister had a friend who’s Dad was a vicar. She used to start religious discussions with them and it was the Jehovahs who wanted away in the end.

I used to know someone who used to get into religious arguments deliberately keeping them there.

Tell them you’ve recently been released from Prison/custody, I guarantee they and their colleagues will never come back ever again

So... Dogs been escaping the garden, jumping straight over the wall and onto someone's shed roof on the allotment.

We didn't realise.. but she must have been doing it for yonks and just letting herself back in. She chased a cockerel up the road the other morning so today I set about fixing the gaps where she's getting out. Spent two hours in the pissing rain going round the perimeter and bodging all sorts of mesh in the various holes.

Here's a picture I took once it was done, after slapping the mesh and saying to myself "she's going nowhere".

image.jpeg.49959c01f13cabcf86b6765a13ad7add.jpeg

I turned my back for a few seconds and walked back up to the house. Turned back round and she was nowhere to be found!

Thank fuck she's got a GPS tracker on -  she was already nearly half a mile away, she'd jumped 5 or 6 more dry stone walls and had fucked off, presumably chasing all the dopey pheasants round the fields

Our house is bottom left on the map.

I pelted down the lane and she came straight to me when I shouted her from a few fields away, but I just don't know what we're going to do with this bloody dog. I walk her two hours every day, play games with her, and she's got nearly an acre of garden to roam around but it's just not enough...

One of my gsd's is like that @cobblers, fortunately after he's got over an 8 foot gate he's happy to break into the conservatory and eat all the catfood, before knocking on the internal door until someone lets him into the main house, where he looks really pleased with himself...🙄

If they are good at escaping it can take months to find all the gaps. One of ours had me running around for ages finding holes in the fence, and finally, on one of his little excursions he had quite a bad accident that wrecked one of his hind legs for life. I presume he got knocked down by a car.

The roads near us aren't too busy, but she's quite road smart but that all goes out of the window when she's after a bird. I'm very concerned she'll get hurt!

We're surrounded by fields full of sheep, too. She's fairly unbothered by them, but she's only young and if something runs, she sometimes can't help but chase it... She's a Collie cross GSD cross mongrel.

She can jump incredibly high if she's got something to land on, the gap she was casually getting out of is just shy of 6 feet up,  and she's only a small 12kg dog. Most of the fencing round the garden is 4 foot stock/cattle fencing, or wobbly dry stone walls with posts and mesh extending it a bit higher - unfortunately she's worked out she can force her way up between the two and climb out of there, too.

I thought she'd got bored of escaping, but she's got such a prey drive for pheasants that are all around us, now that she's got a nose for them as soon as your bad is turned she's off out!

I've a guy coming next week to quote to replace all the fencing with 1.8m tall "bull spec" stuff, but I've got a feeling it'll end up being a very expensive affair, there's ~200m of boundary.

I bought secondhand chain link fence, and stock fence, and have gone round that back of my house and yard, but fortunately half of it is laurel and tall/dense, so it was really just filling the gaps.

He still gets out if he really puts his mind to it, but he's obsessed with me, so fortunately he's normally looking for me and not so bothered about leaving altogether.

I still worry he'll hurt himself going over stuff tho

people who cant understand wifi , other half is going to the caravan , but the wifi was broke , so they put in a new  wifi box with new name and password ... so nowt works now , it all needs connecting to the new wifi box ..

ok , I can run up a access point with the old name and password on it , it just needs plugging in ,mains plug and network lead ,  thats tooo ttechnical for her indoors ..

so I rung up about repair progress to be told the new wifi  box name and password , now I can rename the access point so her phone could learn the new

login name and password for the new wifi box  , fingers crossed that works , and the phone will work ....

but just in case ....

now rename the access point back to the name and password used by the old faulty wifi  box , so the access point  can be plugged into the new wifi box by someone usefull  and it will impersonate the old wifi box and the TV , phone , etc will work , just like that ...

got that ?

I see a days driving in my future just to sort out a bloody wifi log in ....

Bloody microshaft and Xbox. Stopped using my Xbox about 2 years ago. Cancelled the pass. No effect, tried again, same… tried again. They kept taking the bloody money out. Contacted the bank and explained, they have blocked payments.

“Fuck off “ works  as well.

I had an early morning  door buzzer alarm call once. Almost 20 years ago.

Can't be sure who it was- sounded like an older person- I told them I was up until 0400 having worked a late shift, and that I didn't appreciate inconsiderate cunts ringing the fucking buzzer at eight.

That did the trick! 😇

What a nice country the UK has become.

That's now the standard response to anything you don't like.

It's amazing that Britain used to be renowned as a haven of tolerance and good manners.

1) Nice? As a proud misanthrope, I don't do nice. Unless I want something.

2) Fuck off is my default setting; sometimes  'cunt' or 'cunts' is added for good measure.

3) Tolerance and good manners? Perhaps superficially; more like a thin veneer.

Wife is an emotional wreck after what I can only describe as 5 months of trauma.

Started in May (although the signs have been there for a few years i think) with severe indigestion*

A trip to the out of hours GP in June resulted in a trip to A&E which after discharge resulted in a scan with resulted in a scan which suggested a tumour. But a week or so later.  Then resulted in a blockage which resulted in blue lights to A&E and a 2 week stay in Southport hospital with zero fucks given about a patient that they weren't going to treat. She lost a stone. On discharge and whilst waiting for an operation in Liverpool and a scan in London she lost another stone. Was admitted via A&E in Liverpool onto the right ward to put her on an NG tube to feed her.. but eventually a weekend consultant decide that was stupid and they brought forward surgery.

Which removed 3 Neuroendocrine tumours and 7 lymph nodes three of which had cancer.  1/3 of bowel, appendix and a few metres of intestine removed.  Very ill after surgery and very weak.  She's now been home 8 weeks. Theres been lots of pain, diarrhoea, worry about what she can and can't eat. And stress... I would suggest Post Traumatic Stress. Gradually getting stronger.

But fuck me, I feel like an emotional punch bag. On a daily basis there is criticism about any little thing. If she were your boss , you'd go and see HR... I made the mistake on Saturday of actually saying "I think you are being unreasonable" and guess what... world war three is unleashed.

PTSD is why ex service men who have seen conflict end up single and homeless right? Because its cancer and shes a woman its to be expected.

Not sure how much more I can take.  But I'm telling myself. She's in pain and not sleeping so what do you expect ?  An apology has never been forthcoming from any woman... and I hate to sound like a misogynist... not any that I know at least. Instead it will be recorded in her brain as another example as why I'm a cruel heartless twat.

Anyway got to get up to go to work soon...

TBF I do think she has rather a lot on her plate and perhaps kid gloves from your side would be a more correct approach.

Reading comments New pod has made over the years, it's just more of the same, just worse. I appreciate she's ill, but why do it to yourself. Life is too short to put up with being treated like crap for years on end
