Markeh
My work situation is somewhat problematic at the moment (getting tons of shit flung our way and being expected to deal with it with a smile). While I greatly appreciate being invited out this evening with a number of friends, one of whom is a manager (not mine) who is happy to have honest and helpful conversations about how to progress despite all this crap, where I'm going wrong and where I'm doing things right, I'd rather have those discussions in work or just after work - not at a time when I'm trying to bloody forget work and then proceed to keep thinking about it all bloody night - if that didn't completely kill the mood and make me want to go home, stumbling over a kerb and twisting my ankle certainly did! sheffcortinacentre
Why do knob jockies think it's hilarious to nearly have an accident???? Had one today reverse out of their drive looking forward causing me to brake & swerve then when they realise what's just happened just look at me & burst out laughing???? Wish I still had the F-350 at times like this.

GrumpiusMaximus
What's this? A flat tyre? Bugger. Good thing that last time I got my tyres replaced, I asked if they could put one of the worn ones on the spare rim as it still had some life in it. Even better, I still get exactly the same tyres: Even better, when I took it to my normal tyre place (Invicta Tyres in Wincheap, Canterbury) they said they could repair it as it was just a screw through the tread. £16 and a few minutes later, it's back on the car. So grump to grin, really. Plus the VW hand jack is an actually decent design - which makes it all a lot easier getting the spare on in the first place. myglaren, MiniMinorMk3, chaseracer and 3 others

jakebullet
The Mrs's uncle died. Are we going to the funeral? No! Nobody has invited* me. It's Friday 2:30pm, they've put it on bookface. Still not going, I've not been invited. Ok, your call. Turns out that it could have been the best plan. His daughter decided to milk it for likes* Photos of hearse. MikeR
The fix on the dlna router went again , it was not searching the required drive for media ,which brought up the next issue , luci could not be installed in order to do tweaks , seems the latest mt300n update is causing some memory issues , then the aerial amp went off , looked at it , took the lid off , poked it and it worked again , possible dry joint again , the 2nd in 30 years , dam junk 😉 New POD
motorpunk
Are all garages shit? Are they? Is there one that doesn't just plug in a code reader, charge you for a related part and cross their fingers that it'll go away? Have people forgotten how to actually diagnose, test to be sure they're right, and fit a part that isn't off some crash damaged junk or Chinese eBay cack? I don't mind paying! sdkrc, Remspoor and MikeR

Friend or family member happens to mention in conversation something that happened a few weeks ago, and when I act surprised that I didn't know they say "Oh didn't you see when I put it on Facebook?" No I fucking didn't, because I don't have time to sit reading people's fucking Facebook statuses all day. They even do it when they have good news that I might be interested in - if you have something you want to share with me, then tell me it or pick the phone up, don't just stick it online on the off chance I might read it. Reading the last couple of pages of this thread...I definitely agree with having completely lost all enjoyment of life. I distinctly remember saying to a friend at the beginning of 2020 that I'd finally got my mind into a decent place and was actually ready to try and have a proper social life and make an effort with others....and in response the world bans everyone from socialising or enjoying anything, making everyone live like I had for the past 34 years. I think the feeling of not being allowed to enjoy life has never gone away for everyone - it certainly hasn't for me. Even doing my job (commentating on motorsport) doesn't hold any interest or enjoyment for me any more, and in general in life I feel almost like my mind is shutting down completely. Another grump while I'm at it - I've just got back from a work trip to Germany, and one thing that struck me while I was over there is that not only was everyone I encountered very friendly and positive, but everywhere I went was neat, clean and looked after, and clearly everyone takes pride in everything there just as I have seen in other countries. In the UK it seems sometimes as if no-one takes any pride in anything any more and an increasingly large area of the country looks completely neglected and dirty, the vast majority of people cannot be bothered to do anything properly, the only thing we are renowned for any more is incompetence, and an increasing number of people don't seem to want to work and the only thing they want to do is make TikTok videos. Is it only me who sees it this way, or has this country become so downtrodden that everyone has given up? adw1977
Had a minor bump in my modern a few days ago. Reported it esure online. The only contact I had in the first 24 hours was a text message saying "As the Coronavirus situation continues to develop we've started to experience some disruption which is impacting on the service we can provide in our contact centres and it may take us longer than usual to respond to you." As if it's still 2020! And twice now they have texted me inviting me to call their solicitors to make a claim for injury when I don't have any. As for when they might arrange to get my car fixed, sod all, naturally. Remspoor and myglaren

outlaw118
Well, I'm back - a reason for some of you to be grumpy, probably, but DEAL WITH IT BITCHES Main grumpage is technology, on a number of levels. Last year my PC shat itself again. As it's old an clunky, I thought, fuck it, it can stay borked, no real urgency, as I was working in the office at least one day a week, and could - and did - post from there; and SWMBO has a tablet I can use, and I've got a Smart*phone, for other internetty stuff. Work's system has been upgraded with some kind of security / big brother monitoring type system, and it didn't take long for AS to be flagged up (and I get a bollocking) for being an "unsuitable or inappropriate site". So it got blocked. Fast forward to the other week, SWMBO got a laptop type thing with her new mobile contract, and graciously offered it to me. Why is it so complicated? Why hasn't it got a mouse? Why does it need the wifi signal to be at least 89.3% before it'll work. WHY IS IT BEEPING???? Fucker is now back in the box, and on top of her wardrobe, and that's where it'll stay. I bit the bullet in the end and got the PC looked at by my mate Chubby. (Not that one). He started saying something about driving or summat, and then went on about 8 windows and i need new ones.... I have no fucking clue what he's on about. Still, he took the big box thing apart, took something out, sprayed it with something, and put it back together, drank 2 bottles of cider, and disappeared into the night. It now works; for now, but for how long? We'll see..... GrumpiusMaximus, inconsistant, fairkens and 6 others
