Wife and kids are off down there this morning for a few days. Pray for them (and indeed London) 🤣

Not sure if this is the right place to post so apologises if I get it wrong!

The last few weeks me and a few mates have spent some time working on my dear mate's beloved C280

Bless it its previous owner turned it into a blacked out clapped out debadged cruiser with LEDs everywhere which wouldn't do

So over the past few weeks we've slowly been changing bulbs back to how they should be and fixing trims and overall bringing the car back to how it was meant to be and here is where we stand:

It's looking far better now, annoyingly the SAM module (we expect) has gone wrong as the indicators don't and the reverse lights etc aren't either, also all the windows drop when you open the door so it thinks its a CLS 😂 We did clean up the module to the best of our ability but to no avail (the wipers and auto lights did wake up yesterday though, partial result?)

Also had its boot badge refitted!

A specialist is having a look at the module on Wednesday, hopefully should be 100% soon, as despite the issues it drives and runs like a absolute dream!

Tesco fuel station in Inverness this lunchtime. The guy in front gets out, looks blankly at the Pay at Pump screen, does something with the keypad.  Pump in front of him becomes free, so I squeeze past and fill up with 30 odd litres, go into kiosk, pay and come back out. The guy is still pushing buttons, putting cards in the machine and scanning his Clubcard when I drive off. 😄😄

Black wheels do tend to look shite on most cars - it's much smarter with the silver alloys.

Sitting in the restaurant next the Premier Inn I'm staying and a 3 generation family are on the next table. Granny is talking to the grandkids about Eric Clapton, Ozzy, Led Zep etc. Wish my granny had been as cool.

At my local* tesco if your not filling up one way or another within 45 seconds they scream over the tannoy at you 😂 with the mic in their socks of course so you cant understand anything.

I like the prefill buttons on the tesco pumps

They're a good idea, except that they slow the fuelling right down towards the end so takes a bit longer than doing it yourself - but does avoid going a penny over which is good if you only have a fixed amount of cash on you.

Recent classic rock shows in and around MK, Ultimate classic rock show, Guitar heros and Americana review, at 60 we still appear to be amongst the youngest in the audience.   I guess the post war kids are still into they’re presley, beatles and the stones…..

At the station near work, the woman on the decks is a right battleaxe! I can never remember the pin code for my works card, so I have it stored in my phone.

But if she sees you with your phone in your hand at the pump she'll go absolutely ballistic and disable the pump and won't turn it on til you go in and she can give you a lecture about how "you're going to blow the place up and kill us all"

Yesterday, I dropped a work colleague/mate to a Luton Airport yesterday and decided to bimble on over to @Imhotep (via Toddington village) and check out his S-Type.

This is the first time I've ever driven an S-Type (from memory, I may have driven one already) and I absolutely loved it. It did feel a tad tired but then it is an old car, but the V6 sound sounded amazing and it did move when it needed to.

It hasn't helped me not want one. I love my Vectra and have no plans to move it on, but if I ever do need another 'an' car, it's going to be an S-Type.

The mad thing we discovered, is that my Jag, was registered in Worcestershire but for some reason, came from Stratstone Jaguar in Staffordshire, but come back to live in Worcestershire with me. @Imhotep's S-Type was a Castle Bromwich built Jag, registered in Reading, but come back to live right near to where it was built, literally a couple of miles away!

bike ins is due and theyve quoted roughly same as last year (cnuts)

so money supermarket

3 quotes - all cheaper cheapest one is a third cheaper the other two one was inbetween that and the renewal the 3rd one is existing insurer and 3 quid cheaper than renewal (WTF)

so sent them message to say please do not auto renew (this happened with green flag for breakdown and they were surprised they couldnt as the card details changed)

got a letter off them saying yes we've changed the auto renew (excellent)

but we wwould like to know why youre leaving - if you contact us within a week we guarantee to beat your renewal - too late ive already bought another

is it really that hard for them to work out ffs :D
