Due to relationship issues I'm a bit stressed. I'm struggling to find any reason to not be in bed, but can't sleep, due to head spinning with negative internal dialogue.

I used to struggle with that on quite a frequent basis. Different things used to help at different times, radio 4, music, taking a decision (even if you don't stick to it) on what you are thinking about, hot bath before bed time.

Not much help I know.

They're not welcome in Ireland either..

They were welcomed into one of our former local pit villages once. We'll, the locals welcomed them and promptly robbed them overnight.

Haven't been back for some reason.

Arranged a work event in Cambridge today.  15 advisers coming along for it so got my boss involved.  He’s a busy chap and doesn’t like being dragged out unecessarily but 15 advisers was worthwhile.

Seven of the fuckers didn’t turn up.  Three emailed me with lame excuses but four others who told me yesterday they were 100% definitely coming didn’t even call or notify me making me look like a complete chump.  Not fucking happy, and nor is the boss who wants a word tomorrow about wasting his time.  Whoopee fucking do.

Horrible head cold, meaning that felt like I had been eating sandpaper this morning, ear infection and also a sprained ankle.

Feel like I am falling apart. Start of the year has been pretty shit really. Can only get better.

Turned 50 yesterday. Mrs Roobarb and Roobarb jnr made me nice cards, had a Winston Churchill bulldog picture (like our bulldog Winnie) and some cupcakes.

No, that’s not a mirror you cheeky b*$t@rd.

Went for an MRI scan today as I buggered up a knee snowboarding three weeks ago. Apparently I have a crushed piece of cartilage and a fracture, through the arthritis affected bone. Arthritis! Bloody Arthritis!!!

No more boarding or long runs for me. Bugger, old age just came on fast. :(

You have an anti-tailgater weapon?  Awesome!  :D

I wish that was the case and it was operated by a switch. The worrying thing is that it happened in a built up area doing 30mph. I thought they only regenerated the dpf at high speeds or on the motorway.

As the man says IR35 and confusion by agencies and thier clients as to what the forthcoming changes mean.  If you were already on PAYE with the agency, there was no need for agency or client to do anything.
It's only people operating through there own LTD companies like Killtox and me and some others I assume, who risk being taxed as PAYE which won't  be financially kind.
I stand to loose £200 a week in extra taxation if the review in February and my subsequent appeal goes the wrong way.
TBF it's about time this loophole was plugged, we all know it's a tax ruse. If you're working at the same place day in, day out you are to all intents an employee.
If you work for 5 different firms doing specialist work for them then you're a contractor!

They’re locking nuts, the tyre fitter normally has a hard job getting them off

You didn't waste his 'precious' time.  The wankers who committed then reneged did that.

You did your job.

I've worked at 9 places in 10.5 years.  All of them between 70 and 220 miles from home.  I have been lucky enough to have had only 3 occassions without work, and the longest was 10 weeks waiting for defence nuclear security clearance. It averages 2 weeks a year.

I have had 2 contracts cut short due to lack of funding with 1 weeks notice.

I've only ever worked at one place at a time, and there's always been more work than I can do. If there were 4 of me, I could have serviced 4 clients at once, but there isn't.

It has been abused by many agencies and clients, but most contractors are trying to be self employed and do not work the same way as permies.

Just seen the Lincoln in the eBay thread, I really like them and would possibly (maybe) have bought it. Never had an American car, not once, it is a failing I would like to rectify. It doesn't help that I am addicted to 'Hoovies garage' on youtube and he buys a proper variety f chod and some really nice stuff as well. He bought one of those lLincolns for $500 and I really, REALLY liked it, so ugly, so cool.

I've got a stinker of a cold. I went to work yesterday, but wasnt in work, as i went to do MiDAS [driving a minibus for an hour doesnt even count as work imho). Phoned in sick this morning, it's parent's evening, which means ill have to call all the parents who made appointments and do the follow-up. Colds are a fucking ball-ache.

That's a proper AS virus if they've had to name it after a 70s Toyota!

Finding a job is a fucking bastard these days.

My current job is due to end tomorrow. Despite applying for a similar non-customer service position with similar pay I didn't get it because they didn't feel I was "the right person for job". I am once again looking at oblivion, as per fucking usual.

Boss at my last job is being an arsehole refusing to provide me with a reference for an possible new job starting on Monday despite being asked 5 times by my current agency. I fancy just turning up and smacking him one, but of course, as everyone says, 'it won't solve anything' maybe not, but it'll bloody make me feel great and him like the arsehole he is. The evil Lord Sterling is starting to be real.

Not sure how long I can weather this arsehole of not having a permanent job/struggling/financial issues etc.... Someone is gonna hurt real soon.

So as correctly predicted, on Monday, I am facing the dole queue again.

Also, I noticed someone robbed the aerial off the Vectra. New one is on order and the threads will get some loctite before it goes back on.

So. To add to this...

1. Registered at another agency looking for immidiate start work. Because I speak French I was told that there was a job for me, except on the day, I was beaten to the job by someone who fitted thier description more. Not heard back since so I guess I've been dropped. I do have a job interview on Monday though for something else.

2. I may be losing my storage again.  Just been contacted by the new owner who asked if I had been contacted about the change in onwership of the yard. Contacted former owner and apparently the yard has been sold out from under him due to a long-standing family dispute.  I am trying to broker a deal with new owner, if not, I have until the 21st of February to find somewhere else.

I ended up here because of a similar situation some years ago when I lost my under cover storage in a different place.

Also, new aerial for Vectra arrived, doesn't fit, thread is too small. I mean seriously man. Fuck. Off.

Excelsior. Fucking excelsior.

Sounds like heaven. I drove a bin lorry years ago some of the crews were interesting. And the bloody truck got stuck on Cannock landfill constantly.

Fair play bud

If it is a form of the Chinese coronavirus, then setting your affairs in order and calling an undertaker to set up a funeral plan might be a prudent step. Just in case, like....
