I remain torn between wanting to be an influencer and yet being an 'activist' sounds so much more dynamic.

 

Activists get to smash stuff up in front of their mates but influencers are always surrounded by tits 'n flange. They have the best phones an' all. Difficult choices.

Went to the local car auctions last night, had a really good laugh with a couple of other guys who turned up as well.

 

There were three budget-y bits of shite going through last night, a Mk6 Fiesta 1.4 LX which went for £500 (one owner car too...)

 

 

A Mk5 Fiesta 1.25 which I think went for about £300..

 

 

And this wonderful 52,000 mile Corolla...

 

 

That went for just under £200 but on a provo.

 

Why the grump do you ask? I took those pictures about an hour before the auction started. As I was looking at the Corolla, a young lad came up to me and said “that’s only gonna go another 20 miles then I’m gonna banger it”

 

Me and my mates went back to have another look at them just before they went round the ring. I was horrified when I saw EVERY PANEL on the passenger side of the Corolla had been scratched to fuck in an attempt to make it worthless. The green Fiesta also had a scratch on the passenger door and the rear quarter, again done deliberately.

 

What the fuck is wrong with people? I just cant understand why someone would do that. It really pissed me off all night after that.

Wouldn't even say goodnight, and starting to hint that it might be a good idea for us to leave at 10pm. Not the first time either. Might very well be the last time though. Why on earth would I want to put money behind the bar when some of it goes to that useless muppet?

 

That place used to be the heart of the community. It's feeling pretty desolate here right now. Thankfully, a pub a short drive away has been more welcoming.

The flashing headlights to let people out regardless of right of way, safety  and other road users  is spreading .  Seems to have started in Norfolk/Suffolk  where all the retirees from London go , and is spreading west.

Kindness to your fellow man  on the roads has its place of course, but WTF is all the flashing people out of a side road/driveway straight  into the path of cyclists, motorcyclists, lorries et al.

I see too many drivers waving and smiling  thanks to the buffoon on their right  for letting them out, while the 40 tonner/motorcyclist/car driver is about to hit them from the left. Possibly dying in the event of a motorcyclist.

Why cant they just  Stick. To. The. Rules ...

Shame, the people that used to run it were top folks and the fella even came out in his Jeep (with various tow ropes) to try and retrieve Mike's Spitfire when he crashed it. No winch so he attempted to use a handy telegraph pole as a snatch block!!! It didn't work because the ropes kept breaking, but full marks for effort.
