Trump.

Just watched an episode of West Wing, dramatic, moving , emotional etc etc .

Then I remembered what that position means in real life now...

The West Wing is to blame for Trump.

Was a bit shocked to see that Lidl's 8-pack of yoghurts had gone up from £1.29 to £1.89 a week or two ago. That's a fair old hike. A lot of Tesco and Sainsburys long-term 99p items went up to £1.10 after the summer, and have stayed there. We've had to cut back a bit; the weeklyish shop definitely seems to be costing a fair whack more. And neither of us are earning any more, that's for damn sure.

I don't seem to have a problem dodging the trolleys, but then I tend to go pretty late at night to avoid the click n' collect zombies.

That's properly fucked fuck, m8. I know exactly how you feel.

We have reached a dangerous age for men.

I don't how I survived my 20's, fast bikes, booze, funny cigarettes and Citroen CX's should have done me in.

Somehow I've made it to my 50's...

Crematorium tomorrow to see my mate off, say good buy and carry on with life.

Has alcyonecorporation deleted himself from the forum? His recent posts have disappeared from this thread. It'll make me grumpy if he's gone.

They still seem to be there. I think he has deleted one today (which was probably a good idea to be honest) but he's still here.

I'm still here. And yes, I was brutally pissed off earlier; luckily others on here are more level-headed than I am.

I didn't think anyone gave a shit. Appreciated.

Just watching Bottom the stage show and having a right old laugh. Then realising the other clips are for tributes to Rik Mayall. He died in 2014. I'd utterly forgotten and now feel very sad all over again. Fuck, that's weird...... and very shit. :(

SODDING WINDOWS. Have been wondering if my utterly shit broadband speed was related to the telegraph pole replacement project currently taking over our village. Nope. Up pops a 'when would you like to reboot?' window. PISS OFF! I absolutely hate that you cannot turn updates off, you can't pause a download (which you don't know is happening) and you can't personally smash your elbow into the face of whichever utter pillock gave all this the go-ahead.

Is it time to dust off Linux again?

Win 10 on home machines sucks foot long donkey cock.

In a corp setting where group policy brings some sanity to the windows updates and app bullshit is turned off, I find it actually causes less issues than 7. The stupid tablet style control panel replacement "settings" app is a pile though.

I refuse to fix it on friends/family's computers  - I feel like an arse saying it but life's too short to deal with settings that change themselves back, totally useless error messages and non optional Windows updates.

Linux is easier to sysadmin nowadays. Total arrogance on Microsoft's part when they think they can treat their users how they want while Google, Apple et al nibble away bit by bit...

Not to mention how M$ sneaks in a bunch of additional software and changes all your preferences to making their shit the default choice.

Right now I'm thoroughly pissed with XS Training. Trying to do my portfolio for an NVQ and it's shit. I've uploaded over 200 pictures in 3 weeks and had zero feedback. Over almost a year I've had two emails; both were from asking for some feedback on what I've been uploading. Just tonight I had to cross London to sit a written exam, a "bridging unit" covering environmental and customer relations-ish. I'm pretty sure I've failed it as the preparation material was fucking shit and I was basically guessing almost every question. I've paid these fuckers £2000 and all I'm getting is indifference and shit. THIS WAS ONLY SUPPOSED TO TAKE 6 MONTHS!!

I have this shit but I just wear what I like and to hell with it.

Middle youngling thestag doesnt like either his mum nor me asking his teachers any questions, he just goes beetroot and gets cross with us. This is mainly because mrs thestag asks such utterly ridiculous questions and then tries to engage debate on the answer.

Just last week she interrupted another parent teacher discussion to ask maths teacher is A/S levels for maths still existed. It doesnt! Mrs Thestag didnt like this and went into a quick fire question routine "but you told me it did!" etc

I honestly reckon Mrs thestag vs Paxman he would be sobbing within 5 minutes

My Physics teacher was ace.... He'd stop you in a corridor  , grin , and quickfire   "What's  Boyles Law , boy?"

And when i meet my daughters teachers ( who are only older children.. ) I do similar as my opening line !! ...History   :  " What year  did James the 1st  become King? "     Blank look from teacher..... :-D

Science.   A point to the chest and .. "What's  Newtons second law of motion ? "   blank look too...

Last night,  the Art teacher ...with a hairy face ..  "Man alive, that's a fine beard you have !! "  he laughed and agreed . Alright he was !   :-D  :-D  I knew he was an art teacher  as he'd coloured himself in  down his arm, with tattoos

English teacher I thought was a old  cock , hanging on for a silver state pension ,going by the book ..no enthusiasm or ability to fire a kid up.... :-(

Green Star Energy

Do not use these useless fuckers for any of your energy needs regardless how cheap they appear to be.

3 months after closing my account they are still holding on to a >£250 credit balance and resolutely refusing to communicate.

Sigh............ Small Claims court is looking more and more likely.

Got my first parent teacher do at the munchkins new school next week....... at 7 he's already informed me it'll be a waste of time because I'll just be told what a great, helpful and nice young man he is!!!!!

I'll make sure to prepare as above and show him up - it's the best reason for being a parent by a long way :-)

EDIT - grump is having to put up with the ex blaming me for any and all things that could possibly be negative...... even though she probably won't understand most of the conversation as it'll all be in French....... could prove tad tedious.

*none grump - his teacher is fantastically hot!

I really like Christmas dinner and stuffing my face with chocolate, sweets, crisps and all the other bad but tasty grub. The rest of it can all just fuck off though.

This.

But also the pissing up.

Flloyds no longer do the fabulous " set the level yourself" text alerts unless your bal drops below £50. So I shall remove my millions and leave £51 in there.

I could put it all in nationwide, but their website has been playing up for days now and call centre training is dire. ...

The mattress is looking like a real good option for the family fortune.

Fucking work again. Ended up in Milton Keynes and have to go to Corby by public transport for my next job. It cost me £6 to get to Luton and now the bastard train wants nigh-on £25 to do 4 stops and a 50 minute ride. Really? Not worth it. I want to go home now but work seemed determined that i pick up this bastard van and take it to Southampton.

I know that you can usually buy a cheaper ticket online etc... but often we only get jobs the same day or as in this case, I took my money out as I was running very low on funds.

I need to get out of this job and find something that pays the same but costs less to run.

We've just sacked off Lloyds in favour a natwest basic account for Amy, and a First Direct basic account for the joint account.

Lloyds wouldn't downgrade our account to the free one without lots of arsing about so fuck them, bye bye!

Get £130 for switching to First too, so that's cool!

So much cash stuffed under the bed there's no room for communists?

I think the older members will get the joke?
