Aye, mental tiredness is more important than physical tiredness for good sleep. So something that uses your brain is a better plan to help.

Drinking too much caffeine?

my early dart from work was met with a flat battery , an hours wait for a jump start , why dont battery makers improve the shite date code into something that can be read !!!

Listening to lectures via youtube etc sends me off to sleep

My friends wife committed suicide yesterday by driving at speed into a bridge support. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.

My grump is that stuff like this happens. There's no explaining or justifying it, it's just horribly unfair on everyone involved (not least the poor person desperate enough to end their own life).

It does really put all the other trivial nonsense into perspective.

I think that also, reading a good story leaves your brain mulling over the storyline, which distracts it from stressful aspects of real life. I'm sleeping badly at the moment (keep waking up at 4am) so maybe I need to read my own medicine...

Popped down to farnborough first thing as I wanted to go to decathlon there to ask about my noisy headset on the new bike. Dozy guy was a little clueless to be honest, took me several attempts to convince him I had a rockrider 580 not a 560, and I think if I do need to take the bike in I'll drive to reading instead.

Anyway, I also had to pay in a chq at NatWest and so headed off to fine one. I've not been to farnborough before and to be honest won't try a second attempt. It makes Bracknell look cosmopolitan and sophisticated, which is not something anyone who has been to Bracknell would think possible.

Getting back to the car I noticed something on the side window. Turned out to be a business card from "Simons vehicle sales " buying and selling all makes.....https://www.autotrader.co.uk/services/car-dealers/uk/south-east/hampshire/aldershot/simons-vehicle-sales-aldershot-dpp-702822

The one positive was a nice lady in an older scenic who stopped while I was queueing at the machine to give me her old pay and display ticket with 50mins left.

Went to sainsburys at Westwood in Broadstairs this morning. On the way I detoured to Ramsgate railway staition to pick up a new season ticket.

Pretty normal Sunday really especially with the nice weather and all.

Anyhoo, on the journey I and other vehicles were forced into beaking rather sharply at the approach to a mini roundabout as what I can only describe as an honest to god zombie decided to shuffle across the centre of the roundabout without a care in the world.

After the demented mollusc had crossed over I and the other drivers spent about ten seconds staring at each other trying to process what we had seen........

It may not have been an actual zombie but it sure looked like one.

@PBK - hard man, that's hard.

Apparently there's a shitty storm heading our way tomorrow...

I'm on sodding standby tomorrow night!

Hope it doesn't cause too much power related issues in my area. Fingers crossed it'll miss the south coast.

I think you are okay Dan. It appears to be heading for the North west.

Reading in bed doesn't help, I bough an Escort manual, only got to page 4 of 'readers wives' and I'm more awake than ever.

Thank god! For a moment there I was scared I'd have to actually do some work!

Sucks for those oop north though.

I feel ya, going through the same myself and I think the stress has knocked at least a decade off my life expectancy! Wish it was all over.

Back on the coach. Driven 900 miles this weekend + 240 on coaches. Loving life.

Estate agents are arseholes - I’m currently looking to buy and some of them really do nothing to help their vendor shift anything.

We were trying to sell our house in flint about 10 years ago and the short time it was on the market we only had one viewing who said, to our faces, that they weren't buying but just looking to see if it was nice!!

I took it off the market when the estate agent rang me to arrange a viewing for..... I kid you not.....

A fucking blind man.

Totally not shitting you.

Ended up being repossessed in the end due to a cancer shit storm.

Yeah, because obviously if someone is blind they have no right to go and visit a property to get an idea of the layout, access and general feel (excuse expression) of the place. ‘Fucking’ blind people, ay? :(

I saw an episode of LocationX3 with a blind person - they were just as able to evaluate a property

Estate agents can make life stressful along with solicitors when selling a house, when a buyer and seller have agreed on the price and they seem to fuck around for 12 weeks when both parties want to move quickly.

Life gets very stressful for a while but is soon forgotten once the move is completed, unless Pickfords cant get their truck up your new drive because the sales guy wasnt interested when you tell them access is bad.

Also trying to sell at the moment (as well as getting married, applying for jobs, writing academic work and studying for an exam).

Estate agent tried to include some extra % clauses in the contract which we swiftly got removed.

Just feels like the housing market has died as soon as we want to sell.

Also we completely renovated the house, and people coming in saying they want to rip all the walls out and "wouldn't this look good with chalk paint" is fucking infuriating.

Feet first as usual.

Sorry for any offence caused.

Nosey, overbearing arrogant neighbours....... (of my mate). I recently got hold of the barge SD1 V8 manual (my nirvana) project.... cheap and pretty solid, so all good. Garage/Barn has a major roof issue so on mates drive...... all tidy and it's a presnetable motor, needing a couple of running gear things sorted before I throw it in for the test. No plates of course....... you get them from the gov bods with test and insurance.... so I need to get the work done first. Obviously that will take a bit of time unfortunately as I have a life!

Mates neighbour strolls over to him - (in dodgy belgian french accent please)

You cannot leeeeve zat ere......

Why not? It's my drive/parking on my land.

It eeez in view of the hy-way.......

So

No plates - in view of zee hy-way.... is ileeegal. I tell polieez.

I've checked - it's bloody true. Although on private land, it can 'be seen' from the road - so MUST be tested, taxed etc.... fuggin nightmare!

I pointed out that every single car dealer has unplated motors in plain view and all fall foul of this law, so they could FRO.

Awaiting response...... or disappearance of car! Arrogant pricks........

Thought I'd found a nice car on gumtree earlier, then did a search on Facebook to see if it had been for sale there at all.

It had, and had a running issue too. So new owner looking to flip it without being honest.

Facebook market place is useful for something then!

Oh also someone on the CCC page trying to sell (an admittedly nice spec) Xantia for £1000. I know they won it for £300 on eBay.
