The electric grid in my area has done an FTP. Absolutely fucking marvellous!

Not like I was using a shitty space heater to stay warm while I wait for heating oil or anything, is it?

Need parts, willing to pay..... But can't collect Saturdays as they are NEVER open. To restore your classic car you either have to be unemployed or retired ffs.

The postage charge is a f*cling rip off too - I work for RMG and the package is never 60+quid you thieving wankers.

Looks like I'll be getting an extra reaming for the Yuletide if I want to make progress on the project then

Insert chain of expletives here......

Which supplier? Rimming brothers?

Every time I've phoned Hagerty from home they've answered within 30 seconds.

Of course today I need them to push the button on a vehicle change while I'm out...and I've been waiting 30 minutes and counting now.  Go figure.

Sitting outside the seller's house twiddling my thumbs.  Hopefully soon...

Whoppee fuckin' do

Woke up thinking 'Yay - new R50 radiator arrives today, it's not raining, grrrreat'
Then realised that I've send the radiator mounting bushes back (still attached) to the defective radiator that went yesterday.  :-)

Monday I was looking forward to going home after 15 days away on a 10 day job.
Yesterday I booked a flight, taxi and arranged to drink coffee with my mate when picking up my car around 2100

So why is this a grump? I am writing this in Bergen airport on my way to Stavanger and joining another boat tomorrow. All my weekend plans have been scuppered and it will be another “7 to 10 days” before I get to see my home again. Perfect run up to Christmas 😀

And people wonder why I want to give it up 😎

And you just know that they’re gutted to only be getting the fiver rather than the £70 fine for if you forget to pay online once you’re home.

Thankfully not.  I opted for their callback option and after about another ten minutes got a call back from a very apologetic gent.  Apparently it had been an absolute insanely busy morning for some reason.  They had me sorted in less than five minutes from then.

Today's grump:

Removing standing water from a car is significantly more difficult when it's in solid form because it got down to -5C last night.

Wish I still had my dessicant dehumidifier - as it also worked as a 600/900W fan heater it was perfect for jobs like this.

Pour hot water into it, drill brush then extract? Would make the carpets spotless at the same time 👌

*I say this having been outside once at 09.30 then not again so have no idea how cold it really is out there...

Last night I had to shuffle some cars around and the Dolomite and Volvo were as icy inside as out...

I ordered a new air-powered rattle gun off eBay.  It was delivered today.  Opened the box and it's fucking 3/8" drive when all my sockets are 1/2".  Guess who didn't read the listing properly?  Twat.

Glad I read the leaflet in the new asthma medication I was prescribed a couple of weeks ago and finally actually got today.

Specifically states, in capital letters, do not take with two other meds I'm on.

Guess who's going to spend the next several afternoons bashing his head against the nearest wall trying to get any sense out of his GP (they of course have cancelled the repeat of the one I've been on before - for the last 26 years when prescribing the new one).

Thankfully I've got enough left to see me through a week or so - but it takes at least a week for them to actually issue a script once I've managed to get them to actually acknowledge my existence.

It takes eight to ten weeks to get an appointment with them (in theory), but they insist on chasing me every six months for an asthma review...in which nothing has changed in the slightest since I was 12.  Could that poor nurse not be allowed to spend their time doing something more useful?

Taking bets on how long I wind up being sans an inhaler I can use?  I'm betting 3 weeks.

Go back to.the pharmacist and explain your concern first. They are duty bound to spot this sort of problem, and contact the GP before they dispense it.

Note  daughter has worked in community pharmacy, and spent alot of time, ringing doctors to say, "You can't prescribe C, to this patient, because you have also prescribed A, B and D, maybe you could change D, to.E and then replace C with F"

But now works in a hospital where most of her conversations with doctors, are along the same lines, and she frequently stops stupid mistakes by doctors,  although in ITU where she was recently it was more a case of if you give them A it won't work and they Will die because of B. If you don't give B, they will die. Actually it would be a less painful death if you gave them A and C but they will still die.

You may be able to buy the one you need and reclaim the cost.

I had to go to a local chemist when mine ran out at work, bought one and they told me about recovering the cost.  Never bothered as it was only six quid.

I did try and buy a different one for my daughter when it wasn't included on her prescription but wasn't able to with that one, prescription only.

We've still got one! Fully serviced, in daily use. It was installed in 2001 so modern (!), think installation of new gas back boilers was outlawed in 2003.

I have watched the exhumation and moving of dead ww2 German soldiers on youtube and the injuries people get in war are absolutely horrible, on some there are only pieces left.

This was from the Eastern Front and became extra special to me as one of these could have been my great grandfather who died on the Eastern Front and has never been found.

War is shit.

Can’t compete with the above but last night broke my record for the highest price I’ve paid for a pint in the U.K. £6.75, though I’m sure anyone in London could beat that by a mile.

( I know I’m old but the first pint I bought myself (illegally at 16), was 25p.)

Would have to check the receipt to be certain but I think I paid slightly more than that for a pint of Guinness at the Chesford Grange hotel in Kenilworth a couple of weekends ago.  The room also cost a bomb and I have to admit really wasn't worth what I paid (was there as I'd been given a ticket to an awards party).

Soft or non alcoholic drinks are even worse because they charge similar prices to alcoholic ones but have much less tax to pay. In fact at the same venue I was charged £3.30 for a tiny (250ml?) bottle of Coke and £5.80 for two (200ml) Fever Tree  sodas and  a splash of line cordial.

More than £10 for a pint of Guinness ! My PB is about £9 for a pint of generic lager at a hotel nr  Oslo airport in 2019.

I've bought a four pack of this;

At £1.45 or 35p a pint what could possibly go wrong? I appreciate that it's just 2%, but it might be like a cold shandy from the fridge, or it  could taste like piss! I'll let you know when I've drunk enough real beer to give it a go.

Shoppers. If you knock something off a shelf please pick it up. Pick it up even if you didn't rather than the item being trodden on.
