Have you tried opening one up to see if it's fixable? Can be fiddly, but I've had success in the past on other vehicles.

They're the sort that push fit into the radiator so I don't really know how I'd seal it up again after reliably given the temperature changes.  It'll just be a bimetallic switch inside the brass casing, built as cheaply as they can get away with, like condensers.

Just had a email from Bath council. They are proposing to introduce various charges for their car parks in Bath depending how polluting* (old) your car is. Standard charge for 2 hours is currently £3.40. under the new proposal my 75 would cost £4.50 for the same time, because it is a dirty diesel😡😡 only cars with CO² of less than 130 would be exempt from an increase of variable degrees. Cars before 2001 would see a charge based on the engine capacity.

Makes my piss boil, the stealth taxing cnuts😡😡

Some absolute cock in work has handed over my contact details (including my personal number) to some salesteam who has then passed it across to about 10 other (that I know off) dodgy sales fuckers (I've been registered with TPS for years to cut this shit out). They phone my work landline, work mobile and personal mobile about 3 or 4 times a day and never leave a message. I answer and I can hardly understand a word they are saying as their accent is like pea soup (which is hilariously pointless if they are trying to flog me something or scam me).

I tell them to get fucked (I'm no longer being polite about it!), block them and it's like wack-a-mole. A new number appears a few days later. It's doing my nut in. I'm at the stage I'm going to have to change all my numbers (I've had my mobile number for over 20 years) because these cunts won't fuck off and leave me alone!

There's some sort of energy company that's been pestering the workshop phone for a couple of months now, it's always the same question, something about gas and electricity supply. Numerous times they've been politely fucked off, but the other day was different

He phoned up the first time on that day, same script, same guy, I interrupted him and said that I've already told him before it does not apply and that we're not interested, so please stop calling this number with immediate effect and remove us from their system, as it is wasting our time and holding up the phone line from genuine callers. He hung up. 

An hour later, it rings again, different number, exactly the same fucking bloke reading the same script again. I loudly shouted "fuck off" down the phone and hung up, funnily enough they haven't called back since 🤣🤣

It's never gone this long without a repeat phone call so hopefully that was the last

Similar to your case, it's always been a different number each time and even a mobile number so we have know way of knowing so that we can ignore it

As will Glasgow no doubt. Lots of places we often visit and now can’t as my current car is not compliant. It’s not just an extra charge of £10 or £12 pounds either, it’ £60 for the first time and keeps doubling, as far as I can see. 
 

As for public transport, the last time I got a train out of Glasgow central, I sat down to discover someone had pissed on the seat and I had to sit in it and then sit on a plastic bag in the car home. Won’t be doing that again!

Boss asked yesterday if we’d be going out for day trips when we’re up and I told him, many places we’d like to visit we can’t, because of the car being non compliant. Maybe he’ll think again about replacing it now, especially as I’d just told him about Mrs W’s latest health news🤞

I went to a trade show a couple of months ago and as part of that, when you visited booths manned by the reps they would scan your entrance lanyard.  This passed on your details to them and made their figures look good.

Spoke to one company in particular and had a demo.  Was genuinely interested in their system and thought it might be a good fit for our business but we decided to renew the contract with our current supplier.

I got bombarded by emails and phone calls for over a week by them.  Every day, at least two phone calls and at least two emails.  After nearly two weeks I finally lost my cool when they phoned my work number (to this point they'd been phoning my mobile number) which is a call group with three others.  I lost my rag and told the rep that they had been aggressively bombarding me and as a result was no longer interested.  He tried to carry on and I bluntly told him to 'back off'.

An hour later I got an email from them trying to justify their 'professional persistence'.  Blocked permanently on all systems now.  I was about a second from telling them to fuck off on the phone but all of our calls are recorded...

To any sales people on this board, if an opportunity doesn't respond to your multiple messages a day you can probably close that opportunity on the CRM, otherwise you just look like a prick.

Trouble is Bath LEZ is free for any private car, no matter if it's compliant or not. I think they realise they made a mistake just because they didn't want to piss off the commuters that come from outside the city ( read, to gain electoral votes). So the emissions in the city haven't really dropped at all. Hence charging now for parking. It will kill Bath because the park and ride is £3 a person so a family of 4 will need to pay £12 to go shopping or stump up at least £ 5for 2 hours parking, more if you want to ' make a day of it'. People, me included, will go elsewhere. I bloody love* living in ripoff Britain.

Fantastic, I've just noticed a dental filling which I received a couple of weeks ago has gone loose 

I thought something wasn't quite right as this particular one felt quite sensitive when none of the others I received on the same day did

I was quite concerned because the dental nurse/assistant was clearly inept, as the dentist was trying to give him instructions on what to do, and it sounded like he was messing things up, while she was doing the fillings..

They reattached the tooth,(it's only one) to its neighbour, the dentist got me to close my jaw to check the bite, whereupon it fell straight off. The second attempt felt ok, but fell off within a week. Luckily, the third attempt with the normal assistant has lasted the best part of a year.

Have to say I fully support any people qualifying to join the dental industry, but I don't think he was quite ready to be working with a real patient.

Luckily being a filling it wasn't a particularly crucial procedure but it's probably prone to infection now...

Stupid idiot had been pissing blood since Wed and never told anyone.

Just had to drive his car home from Monklands without insurance and was shitting myself the whole way home 🤣

Had to do similar in 2021 with My Dad's Picanto; He drove himself to his GP surgery whilst having a heart attack,

Got away with it thankfully and he made a decent recovery, I'm now a named driver on his policy which he (unusually) agreed to without debate.

Hope Dad makes a full recovery, we had a few dark days but mine is back to his old self and still lives independently in his own home today.

Hope he’s ok, my dad went in with the same problem and died.
