£30 is not a huge amount of money .....

.Are you expected to spend hours of your own time trawling the scrapyards

Oh yes it is!  To be fair, if I told him that was the only way to get one, he probably would, but he does skimp by nature.  Kevin (the other driver) and I have to lay the law down a bit to get stuff done.  And yes, you're probably right, that does mean I need a new boss.  But he's no different to anyone else I've ever worked for so I just remind myself that I've only got him for a few hours each day.

And yes, I certainly am expected to trawl the local scrappies, but on his time at least.  I don't mind that, in fact I enjoy it.

Oh well, being paid to trawl scrapyards sounds like the ideal job for me.

But the savings won't be huge when the part is only £30 and your wages will have to be paid for the time you spend doing it.Your boss isn't very bright,is he?

Time is money no?! Jesus Christ - even an eejit surely sees that spending days to save £20 is poor economics.

If I was breaking one, I’d want to sell them as a pair - and £20/30 doesn’t seem beyond the realms of reasonableness.

WANTED - nearside headlamp 190E Bosch flavour.   Anybody got one?

WANTED: 405 suitable petrol engine, or donor car.

Bought a 405 estate from Bramz last year, but in the process of trying to sort out the blowing exhaust manifold gasket, the block is now a goner.

Finding a suitable replacement seems to be a challenge, but Mr OldCortina has kindly suggested that he'll have a go at fitting something else from a PSA, ideally 1.8 -> 2.0.  Pez essential.

Alternatively, anyone want to make an offer on a not-at-all rotten 405 estate? Aftermarket cruise, <100k on the clock, could do with a new drivers door locking mechanism and an engine which doesn't have the remains of a head bolt stuck in the block.  Just-fitted clutch and comes with a bunch of spares (lights, filters, brakes, cambelt kit, head gasket) and several piles of car magazines which AutoFive has been storing in there since last summer..

Would anyone have a N/S front foglight for a mk3 Astra kicking around their shed?

I could also use a front bumper for a 2013 Berlingo car preferably in white,  offside panels too if cheap enough.

Wanted 90s lexus/Toyota petrol cap (screw in type) prefer locking type but either will do.

Thanks

I have a collection of parts salvaged from a 1996 Jaguar X300 4.0, which unfortunately are little good to me now as an XJ40 owner (sigh).

Exhaust manifolds (front and back, no cracks that I can see), £35 each

Exhaust heatshield (chrome is in good condition), £18

Heater water pump (tested with 12 volts, spins), £20

Heater matrix valve (tested with 12 volts, does stuff), £20

Dash veneer (one small scratch, otherwise good), £15

Air bellows and MAF sensor (untested sensor), £30

Postage should be fine at the buyer's expense or collection from York or East Riding area. I'm gutted the exhaust manifolds don't fit the XJ40, I could use one.

I can also do a swap for some XJ40 parts I'm on the lookout for (PM for details).

Does anyone have any idea where I might find a nearside rear quarter panel for an 87 Porsche 944S?

Dealers seem to be telling me that they can only find one for the other side...

And scrap/cuts seem to be exactly that, just as rotten as the one I'm replacing.

Thanks in anticipation folks.

I got ‘unavailable’ sills from a company in Germany for mine. Only problem is I can’t remember their name for the life of me. I will try and dredge it out, I also remember they did loads of stuff for old fords, capris, Taurus etc (but wasn’t motormobil). Sadly the 944 has been gone a few years so I can’t check the receipts. I ordered by phone using a card and they arrived in something stupid like two days.

Do you need the complete panel or can you get away with the sill and lower repair panel?

http://clubautosport.co.uk/Old_Site/porsche_944_repair_sills_and_low.htm

I could get away with a lower repair panel, but I need a panel bigger than the ones that Club Autosport do.

They appear to do the exact panel that I need, but it's in fibreglass or kevlar and I'd really like to keep it steel.

I've got a white front bumper for a BX which I once kind of needed but then didn't.

Free to anyone who wants it. It's not mint but it's pretty good I think.

Can drop off to you if I'm nearby at some point too. Otherwise it's in Reading.

I may no longer need an engine for a 405; we'll see!

I'm offering for the sum of £1 including postage this Vauxhall Owners club badge as I'm not fit to wear it. Still wrapped, beautiful, don't miss it, I certainly won't.

Seriously, I'd love to keep it but I just haven't got the room.

Bugger, that went quick, knew I should have asked £1.50.

Go on then! This will be for my wife who would rather have another E46 cabrio than the Astra Twintop she currently owns.

More high quality tat emerges from years of hiding, todays offerings are a single port vw inlet manifold as fitted to bugs, splitties and early bays, so must be worth eleventy million pineapple points, yours for £10

Somewhat more specialised- a headlamp bowl and switch panel for a James J15 cadet, may also fit later cadets and other Js such as the captain (but not certain), a bit of surface rust inside the switch panel but amazing good condition for its age £20 to a shiter. Pair of villiers timing cases for same but will fit a million bikes £5 and a fuel cap/ mixer in good condition £10 or £25 the lot.

I also have a mini camshaft, think it’s a 1275 one but can check if anyone is interested in it.
