Had my insurance renewal for the MX5 through today... £21 cheaper than last year. I'm amazed, I was preparing for a price hike and consequent shopping around.

I'm not saying I'm particularly lacking in the brain cell department after a 2 day festival (even with only the first day spent on the booze), but after driving for about 20 minutes tonight and thinking that the street lights in Rotherham and Sheffield were particularly dim, it suddenly dawned on me that I was still wearing my sunglasses.

The undersea tunnel network that could transform Shetland's fortunes

This according to the BBC.

When did Shetland start driving on the right then? 🤣

(Yes I know it's a Library pic, just made me laugh)

Another Scottish government project that will be twenty times over budget but I suppose under sea is a proper use of a tunnel rather than protecting 5 bats.

We had part of a railway viaduct, on the outskirts of king's Lynn, which was fenced off and protected, because bats.

Then one day it was mysteriously gone, funny that there's a load of development work going on near it.

Then it was a case of 'Bats?? Err, um, they've moved out!'

Yeah of course they did, you've knocked their bloody home down, those that survived 🙄

Looking for a tape measure at work and found this in a drawer. Which marketing genius decided that a tape measure was a good way to promote a school of nursing and midwifery?

I got this one at a careers fair.

A metal tape measure is an odd choice but this soft plastic one is useful for measuring wounds and the arm span of a bed bound patient to work out their height.

Recently I had to bust open a sterile wound pack just to get a paper tape measure to measure a patient for compression stockings.

They need to spread them around a bit.

Daughter took MK2 grandson to the continence team, he's four, but autistic and nonverbal, completely in his own world.

They were meant to be fitting him with nappies, he's a bit big for off the shelf stuff now.

"Do you know what size he'd need? We don't have tape measures"

Really?

More relief than a grin.

Trying to sell the 307SW. Not much interest until last Thursday. Messaging back and forth, for 2 days. Then it went quiet. Read last night the Police have arrested a group of crims for fraudulently  "purchasing" cars with the real reason of collecting personal data of the seller.

Coincidence?

Doesn't always stop us though!

Although I wouldn't travel to the end of the street for a 307 and I like Peugeot's.

To be honest the 307 SW is a much better all round everyday car than the phase 1a 3008 I purchased ... that was done to help the wife. She prefers electric handbrakes and did not want a larger car like a 508.  I did not want 3 cylinder or adblue engine.

Had a chuckle today when I was out in the wilds of Argyllshire and saw a queue of cars coming towards me led by one of the most unlikely vehicles to dawdle that I could imagine. Holding up all the pick up trucks, Transit vans and everything else was a 74 plate Ford Mustang. A real one mind, not one of the battery buggies.

Not car related but listening to BBC Radio 6 Music. Radcliffe and Maconie played "Young Americans" by Bowie and then "Never Too Much" by Luther Vandross (RIP both). Nice segway - Luther sang backing vocals on Young Americans.

We bought it home and cleaned it up and it's quite nice, don't know how old it truly is though, probably not very 😂
