Something I heard today whilst on-site made me laugh,

“sometimes it’s just better to give a prospective customer 5 grand and tell them to fuck off rather than piss about sorting their Quote, as in the long run it’s less hassle and you’ll lose less money”

😂

A two-time customer of ours has just featured in private eye today. Seems that despite having multi-million profits from ppe contracts they can’t afford to pay my companies’ multi -hundred point bill from 2020.

I’ll be writing to them ( yet again) tomorrow with a copy of the item, and to private eye just to let the squalid rag know what sort of fly by night shifty lot they are.

Not sure what I've been googling recently to get these targeted ads 🤔

A couple of months ago I nabbed the Chevy spark that was for sale here - today we have success! New brake lines will be done in the coming weeks / months.

I'm really glad it's up and running, minus the missfire now!, as the Honda has been taken of the road while it waits it's turn in the garage for  new clutch, flywheel, full cat back stainless steel exhaust, new rear callipers and anything else they find wrong with it.

HMRC have refunded money into my business account. I can now pay them corporation tax and take the rest* Tax free.

And close the account and wind up the company.  After 12 plus years.

*Not alot. But it will pay for a new roof.

The rest is subject to income tax surely?

Keep the company going for another year running at a loss ( just do nothing except pay yourself something to make a loss), and you can claim a good chunk of the corporation tax back.

Something about entrepreneurs investment relief.  Like capital gains tax.

The problem with running at a loss for a year is that the actual saving in tax would be eaten up in accounting fees.

Ready made sure the profit was as low as possible by paying a shit load into pension.

I'm going to Leeds on Friday and Ma says can you drop idiot sister at the MOT place on the way? OK I suppose. I'm attempting conversation and Idiot says it's expensive here, I've had a full service and it was £180!!! Er, what did they do in this full service?

Dunno really. Full service. Probably new spark plugs, not just changed the oil but changed the oil filter as well.

Must have been a deluxe service if they did the filter as well as the oil. And it's very important to fit new spark plugs on your diesel renault van.......

*************

Think she may have noticed I was taking the piss, 'cos she's left the invoice here for me to look at. Invoice says "full engine service @ 138575 miles. All filters changed and oil changed using 5w40 C3 oil £150+vat"

Bargain! £15 of filters n £40 of oil?

Seems fair, it will have tied up a lift and tech for at least half hour. Garages have to make money too y'know?

Think that was covered by the MOT done at the same time for £50. Forgot to mention garage is owned by someone on same donkey yard so at m8's rates.

They don't remove wheels or undertrays on an MOT
