Went over to FIL's Merc camper today, built many years ago inside an 814 body on an L plate, started first turn of the key after not being run since September. Needs a good wash mind!

An invisible repair I think you'll agree,

I find looking at it from the other side of the van whilst staring at the front wheel it's hardly even noticeable.

Managed to get someone sensible at the DVLA. I sent all my paperwork in for the Solex moped just before Christmas. One of the idiots obviously didn't want to do any work that day and sent it back to me saying they needed a registration document from the country of origin or a dating certificate, which I had sent. I sent it all back with a note saying I think you will find that the paperwork was correct and today I got this.

Whoever dealt with it this time obviously knew what they were doing. All it required to register was a dating cert and insurance, no need for mot so that was a result

Went to the clothes bank to dump. 4 bags of clothes and found half of a dyson DC41 dumped there.

Grin? I need the small tools for one of mine and this has them, so £15 saved there! Plus loads of spare parts

So far, two people have demonstrated a troubling inability to operate an actual door-handle when getting off, as opposed to spamming a push-button. What new-fangled devilry will they force on us next? Also, a fellow passenger whose train was cancelled after it hit a person, "doesn't know why these idiots can't just go home and take an overdose instead". Normally this would arouse my ire, but based on her facial appearance, I suspect that she has personally experienced at least one forcible collision with a train-shaped object, so it was a fair assessment for her to make.

Citroen C5 came in for test this morning. The presenter drops the front wheels in the RBT  and we test his service brake. The look of utter confusion on his face was priceless when I asked him to try the handbrake on the front wheels. To be fair he's only had the car since September.

Nothing to do with cars (although I did drive there in the recently fixed Honda Accord, which I fixed all by myself)

Work.

Have today replaced a consumer unit (fuse box) and done all the electrical testing in a customers flat for my new employer.

The reason for the grin is that I have been out of the industry for over ten years and was nervous as fook.

It went well. Happy. My confidence is restored.

If it was a Turbo Volvo with an electric tailgate they could turn the chipper round on the trailer and automate the process, tailgate up, boot it , shred

In the midst of the sadness linked to my little ginger kitty a small positive event occurred.

In the loft I found my old German army shirt, last worn around 1994 maybe. I put it on and it was like wearing a sodding tent.

I'll bloody well find a way of wearing it somehow.

Went to a tram/bus museum in Oslo today and they let you sit on all of them, which was neat. Not usually my thing but for 50KR (about £4.70) it was ace.

I've been told I'm allowed to go to Mulhouse around my birthday too. Home of the largest car museum in Europe.

Ace!

Started my PhD on Monday. Day three of lectures and fuck my mind is blown.

The challenge to everything that I took for granted is a really eye opening event. It's not often that you get time to actively challenge the underpinning thoughts behind mainstream ideology.

It's all very NSFAS as dealing with political underpinnings to most ideas including rationality.

The washing machine started not draining and making funny noises, so the magic number was called, and a nice man came and tipped it onto its back

And found the 2 key blades for fv51fyp!
