That Airfix Panhard would be great but someone lost the chassis.

Yesterday I fitted new stereo to MX5. Which works.

Today I drove it 110 miles to Derby (The last 25 with the top down)

Then I filled up with super unleaded, and jet washed it.

Then I decided that it looked shit, so I polished it, and now it is raining.

But not too close up that you can tell how amateur they are.

Does anyone know what this is ?  My mum gave it me, about 15 years ago when she was sorting out the effects of a recently demised great great uncle.

Spotted in a hospital car park today, the guy jumped out and looked like he was off to visit his auntie Nellie or something. Wanted to ask him if this is his normal daily!

The MG GS is truly baffling. They've got Bumpercar Caravanpark advertising it or something. Or it's the new series of Sherlock. Or some sort of Chinese knock-off James Bond thing.

Not when you realise they love him and Sherlock out there! Kinda of a bonus for them, someone who is well known in 2 of their markets - possibly more as it's been exported worldwide.

That Discovery is just the sort of thing to trade in against a lovely green XJ40.

Don't you think, Skizzer?

I do.

Ha! I do love your green '40, but I would be so dead when Mrs S discovered we had three Jags.

I'll bring it over at some point in the next couple of months and change your mind. Some things are worth dying for.

Doubt it, that's Manchester.

edit: no, it isn't. Googling 'autoshite 2300' reveals AD's car and it's N reg.

I'll have to keep an eye out for that FE.

It better bloody not be, the ex-AngryDicky one is supposed to be in my shed (and is GJV538N).

It's a new one on me - it's not Dippy's either, nor the one that's been for sale for £10k for (unsurprisingly) a very long time, nor Vauxhall's own that Dollywobbler reviewed.

Edit: Duff info, because I am an idiot.  Sorry.  See below for people who know what they're talking about.

Is it not the one 'the doctor' sold to that chap who now uses it as a daily driver...

Any minute now my telephone is going to ring with "Your Mercedes is ready to collect, Sir" and my arsehole is going to start twitching like a bunny rabbit's nose.

From what I can gather: It's had...

  • Another head gasket kit fitted
  • Refurbished set of valves
  • BNIB genuine duplex timing chain and associated sprockets
  • Camshaft (previously enjoyed)
  • Rocker Cover
  • Few hoses (that were brand new but incorrect for a car with A/C)
  • Heater unblocked thanks to some unhelpful twat using K-seal (that'd be me)

When I spoke to the guy on Wednesday he said "Well it's 10 hours labour" and that was 5 days ago.  Seeing as they've not called to say it's ready, I'm bloody terrified.  More of my wife's reaction than to actually paying it you understand...

124's not bad either.

They are literally 10 a penny here...

Most towns are like driving through the late 80's/early 90's.......

Mended the Combo as my son suggested looking under the bonnet at the linkage. The plastic rod had come off, so I pushed it back on and cable tied it and it seems fine now!

Where is here?

Mihaltsi, Pavlikeni province in Bulgaria.

Every town and village has a central square where the old communist party had a monument.

Most are old artillery pieces or some piece of mining equipment depending on what the local "speciality " was....

The meriva did that. I bought a fancy uprated metal linkage off ebay that sorted it!

Amy got quite adept at loosing gears stopping, popping the bonnet, pushing the bar on, dropping the bonnet and carrying on in the week it took to arrive! Even the police were impressed* when they happened upon her doing it once

I think that's Dippy.

I mean the aforementioned ( by Skizzer)member of this fine organisation, not as in the Right Said Fred ditty meaning slightly mentally ill.

The red light district must be worth a look...

An impromptu trip made to Milton Keynes last night. We're not too sure how but it dropped it's driver window that day despite not moving an inch for three weeks. Strangely we discovered the screwdriver (aka petrol cap key) had vanished from its hidden little spot. The doors were still locked?

Looking a little less stylish now! Haha!

Yes, NLS 192P does indeed belong to Dippy of this parish who uses it daily. He did buy it from the Doctor.

The picture of the sierra looked right from the early 90s after some scrote had smashed the drivers window to steal the grundig tape player

9-5 brushed off the mot man's glares and prods today and ended the 45 minute bout with a pass and the advisory box clear. Ideas have been going around in the wee small hours to change it for a 4x4, but it's getting under my skin now. I like Saab's me.
