dome Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Busy year for me... Started the year with the w210 Merc and the recently purchased e46 330D MSport tourer. Still here BMW was bought from a friend, initially to sell on but it's more suited to my needs so the Merc was sold This tiny bundle of terror fun arrived early in the year and funnily enough I've not had enough of it yet so it's still here. A free Freelander was acquired, fettled and swapped. for this Which was sold for OMGprofitz Which I wisely* invested in this which is still here waiting a cambelt. Oh, and then I won this which is still here too. Started the year with 2 cars, ended it with 4. DVee8, Tickman, Jim Bell and 6 others 9

ruffgeezer Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 I would but I cannot fucking remember. I did buy the V70 this year, but I don't know if I sold the truck this year or last. I shall have to have a rummage on my phone and see what dates things came and went.

CreepingJesus Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Started the year with a 98 V70, 76 CZ125, 84 GPz750 and 89 765, out of which only the latter remains. It's been rechristened Emo Brick after its' numerous attempts to top itself this year. Mind you, we started the year with a 2 bedroom house next to psycho twats, and ended it with a 3 bed next to nice people, so not all bad.Probably nothing will change in the next six weeks, I'm quite a slow moving object mostly. dome 1

RobT Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Metro and Cavalier are keepers, so in/out chod listed below. -Phase 1 Safrane. Dec '16 to July (I think). More or less broke even, lovely car still on the forum with Brodders. Would own again.-Jag X300. Nov '16, scrapped early 2017. A lemon, I barely got 300 miles out of the fucker before the diff went, and during those 300 other stuff caused issue too. A 90s French luxomatic proved much more reliable, who'd have thought it. Lost £600ish.-S3 Rover 214. February-March. 8 valve loveliness, great fun to drive. Roffled off, broke even.-Mk3 Astra GM dizzler. March-September. Great old plodder, took on a trip to Holland, 800 miles later ran out of dizzle 4 miles from home, I IZ A TWAT. Roffled off with Cavcraft the rightful winner, broke even.-Jag XJ40. August-September. Suspension fucked but cheap with long MoT and it drove well enough. Still lost money though as it sold for spares. -Mazda 626. October - current. I love it, despite the knackered door and various niggles. I want to keep it for a while, so when the inevitable itch starts again I'll just have to be a four car family and deal with all the skintness that entails. stripped fred 1
Ghosty Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 OUT: 2010 Bini Cooper. Mum's car (but my choice). PX'd when something else came up. Don't know where it is now as it's got a private plate on or something. OUT: 1996 Audi A4 2.6 quattro. I was given this to sell cause I didn't bloody want it, besides one of the diff mounts was fucked, and it was horrifically uncomfortable. Sold for £800 and it's still knocking about locally, and the new owner seems to have replaced the exhaust. IN AND OUT: 1994 Rover 216SLi. We all know the story of this, my first car, and the car that proved RELIABLE HONDA ENGINE to be a load of toss. Served me well for eight months but the front end was badly aligned, and it always wanted something new fixing. When something else came up, I realised it was time to move on and stop throwing money at it. It was a laugh to drive and I loved the engine and gearbox, but the package it was in just didn't bother me that much. I have a feeling I'll have another D-series car before too long, though, with the right badge on it.Sold for £400, which is probably about £150 loss (HGF and tyres cost a bit to fix). IN: 2009 (just, it's registered in January) Mini Cooper S auto. I'd been telling my mum to get an auto MCS for a while because while she liked her Bini but it had barely any options, and was the wrong colour. I found this on one of my regular searches of Auto Trader as she was keen on the idea - it's the highest spec one I've seen and it has everything my mum wanted and then some. The price lined up with what our newer Bini had depreciated to so it was PX'd, and with a minor cash adjustment we had a slightly older, but much nicer car that won't depreciate as much. After a few initial niggles including a cam chain tensioner and having the entire bonnet resprayed by BMW at their expense, the mother feels like it's her 'forever car' and tbh I hope it is as I'll end up with it. IN: 1987 Volvo 740 GLE estate. This came up locally in the right colour, at the right price, and just at the right time. It hardly wants for anything, and was exactly what I wanted from a car. This isn't going anywhere either, I'm just going to keep using it and occasionally tidying bits as permissible. The brakes need work and the handbrake needs adjusting so it actually does something for the MOT, but that's months away yet. I have plans for a second car in early 2018 if funds permit, and hopefully it won't be nearly as busy as the past couple of years have been carwise at chez Ghosty. RobT, dome and chodweaver 3

Citroen ZX Aura-uber rusty rocket.Peugeot 405 GL- Sold to make room for something else. Citroen BX19 TXD- part exchanges for something else after a large and unexpected MOT failCitroen Xantia D- scrapped after it kept breaking down. Shabby POS.Citroen Xantia TD-Great daily but bored. Citroen AX Forte-super car but M4 commute was a bit hairy in it. Citroen ZX-Not bad but dull and reinforced my hatred of the interior. Renault Safrane-a really gutting sale as it was immense to drive. Peugeot 405 Exec- lovely car but not in my future car plans. Current fleet-1997 Peugeot 406. Super drive and unbelievable handling on all types of road. Hopefully won't FTP.1991 Citroen AX TZX. Tight feeling, lovely ride and a really old school French aura to it. It will never leave me.1991 Fiat Tipo DGT. random impulse gumtree purchase, low mileage and one previous owner. Already spent a fortune on it, now in dry storage with supercars. Also have another car but it's still a semi secret. It'll be a big project but it was that or the scrap heap. I'll add some photos later. RobT, Sigmund Fraud, clayts450 and 1 other 4
panhard65 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 I have been pretty good this year and only bought a couple of cars. I started with the Porsche, 806, 204, Saxo and the horrid Horizon. The Horizon soon found a new home and the only other car that came and went all year was a Silver Shadow which I didn't intend to buy. There was also a 304 bought as a breaker that donated it's alloy wheelsThe 204 has also moved on but replaced with another Peugeot the 202.A few bikes have been through as well but as I just buy them to cover the cost of my trips to France they don't really count. The year finishes with the Porsche, 806,Saxo and the 202. There is also a 806 breaker but you can't really count that. dome, RobT and Sigmund Fraud 3
BorniteIdentity Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 I was about to sit down and do a full EBITDA. Then realised there was a very good chance my wife would either see over my shoulder, or find my records. This idea was quickly forgotten. The way I look at it? I'm not hungry (evidently) we have everything we need and I've had a few laughs in 2017. More of the same for next year please. Exiled_Tat_Gatherer, clayts450, RobT and 2 others 5
