I had thoughts of buying R400 HHR and putting it on retention to spur me on in my mission to buy a decent Rover 400 in HH-R favour. Cos why not. Think it was £250.

Some cunt beat me to it. And put it on a fucking Rover 45

The TransSport came with…

Tempted to pick up another 10NNK plate to match it.

My recently depart Volvo had this one, but as it had been on since new I couldn’t bear to part them.

My Saab has its original Blackburn plate on it… but it’s the only car I’ve had anyone offer to buy the numberplate! And getting another RxxOCK plate is not easy

Oh and the TF has one for someone who’s initials are JC and surname is Wynne…

Anyone who matches that nomenclature and wants to buy it do get in touch!

If you do ever want to sell R96OCK... I was born in 96 and am a rock musician...

I’ve got 2. Not sorry.

I bought SUT 860R over 10 years ago for my Manta. I think I payed £480 for it. Probably worth a lot more now.

then when dads eyes started going bad he gave up his car and mum ferried him around everywhere. They went down to one car so he gave me his number plate. Conveniently 88 is the year I was born too.

Dad still holds on to N22, mum died last year so he sold the vw tiguan she had and bought this merc. He also has P66 on his motorhome, and brother Sutty had K44. He started it…..

I never bothered with initials on reg numbers. People know me as Sut or sutty, not SMS.

The other fella that offered to buy it was an ice cream man called Rocco. He wanted to put it on his ice cream van…

It helps to have a three-letter surname!  I have T3 on my RX (the seventh car I’ve had it on) and T80 on Management’s Shogun. I had H9 on our MoHo but this is now on retention, after we sold the van in the summer. All my plates were £250 each from DVLA.

Never had any while living on mainland UK. Was half tempted when I saw CRA2G offered for sale, but then I concluded it would just make me look like a twat who didn’t have enough money for CRA1G, especially if attached to one of the tatty old Fiestas I invariably owned at the time.

Oh yeah and me and my brother have this one. It bears no resemblance to us at all. Other than it came with the first disco 1 we had and it was covered in HAYA 4x4 stickers. Defunkt shortly before we bought it. It was a nail, no wonder. When we scrapped the d1 I put the plate on my d3 for a bit, but took it back off when T88 came along.

Had this for 40 years,it's been on umpteen different cars, vans and lorries. Obviously it's my initials and it must have cost me a fortune in transfer fees over the years!

This one I've had for years,I'd always wanted a 666 plate & TG are my initials. It cost £100 from my mate's sister & came from a Talbot Horizon20221219_210934.thumb.jpg.d829498ff64f5883fd4bcdaf3d0701c0.jpg

I got REV 4 SIR on mine...

(which really has always tickled me because being equipped with a CVT! the one thing it does not do is rev! its not until you go past 45 do the revs start to climb)

Having the first name Iain and surname Lindsay pretty much fucks me up for any meaningful vanity plate. I therefore went for LNS for 2 of my cars.

Not sure if these are Northern Ireland issue (not that it matters.) This is from National Numbers. Given there are so many you'd have thought there's room to negotiate.

X54 MOA was originally on a mk4 Golf. I kept the plate when we sold the car simply because 6-digit plates are getting uncommon now and I like the symmetry compared with 7-digit numbers. Also, I thought someone might offer me something for it one day as it could be spaced as X 54M OA or X 54MOA. Not that I condone such behaviour. Now on retention since the Sorento was scrapped and I didn’t have the chance to transfer to my Isuzu.

This disaster of a Mini came with the plate.  The car is long gone and I’m supposed to be selling the number as it’s technically my wife’s, but I’ve not made much effort in that regard.

V33 DJF I won in a roffle on here. Think it’s been on a couple of shiter-owned cars but I don’t recall the history.

I’m sure I’ve seen that XR3 on eBay ¿

I bought it at auction but it had previously been on eBay.

It's currently in storage for the winter then will probably be for sale Feb/March time although I like it better than I thought I would so it may get kept a bit longer.

I am also a vanity plate wanker, it was bought for me as a surprise by my family for my 30th 12 years ago and has been on a number of cars since, T is for Trigger, 80 for the year I was born and the last 3 being my initials.

I am clearly the winner of this thread since I've had this on for more than twenty years. I know it's twatty & I wouldn't do it now, but I've only been stopped for it three times. Twice it was 'change it & get this stamped at an MOT station' & the third time it was a £20 slap on the wrist.
