The grumpy thread

Job interview this morning, didn't get it.

I had one last Wednesday, got told today I didn't get it.  I suppose I should get around to signing-on... :-(

On the bright side, I've still got my current job. Just sick of it due to shit management.

On the same boat here, too.

I have a grump and perhaps it's because I'm getting old - music.

There's some quite good songs out there in the modern world so I'm far from saying all modern music is shit, but if I hear one more song where the bloke talks about a motherfucking nigga I think I'm going to have a nosebleed.  I get it, you can swear, ooooh, you're so dangerous, ooooh.  Am I supposed to be shocked?

I'm not shocked, my feelings are pity and boredom.  If you're going to make a song, y'know, music and lyrics, do you think you should spend a bit more time trying to find a word that rhymes with "key", other than "key"?  And while we're at it, stop telling me that you're so brilliant.  Confidence can be an attractive quality but arrogance, not so much.  And when you've been around for a while you know not to trust people who tell you what to think about them.  "I'm mad, me, LOL!" or "I'm a caring person".

And for people who tell you they're brilliant, it's like double points on the wanker-ometer.

I like listening to new music, there's a bit of my brain that says I have to so I can hear new, good stuff but honestly it's hard work sometimes.

The thing that pees me off with modern stuff, not all, is the woo woo baby baby , I miss you when you're gone, woe woe woo woo, la la fookin la.

My first question is. Why have they "gone" ? Coz you're a twat ? More than likely.  Or they've nipped down the shops ? or what ?  Pathetic.

Scottish Power cold calling me, I was very polite (especially after an afternoon clearing out a fucking rotten pigeon from the gutter and being fucked about by dreams beds - still waiting for the call back!) and said I didn't do cold calls. She then tried THREE more times to find out who I am with and then had the cheek to sarcastically say 'thanks for the warm response'. I still don't know why I didn't verbally rip her head off and shit down the hole. I must be going soft in my old age.

It was on my bloody mobile to add insult to injury, normally I wouldn't have answered but I thought it was the idiots from Dreams finally getting back to me.

Mo, a dead bird on the bonnet is better than a horses head in the bed. Possibly.

Lol! Never thought of that. Might a 'warning' from some very tiny gangsters. Someone said it was good luck? Or is that when plop on your windscreen?

Have you been involved with caribbean drug lords who look a bit like Yaphet Kotto? Perhaps it's a voodoo thing.

Just has one of my front teeth pulled and I'm now the *proud owner of a denture. I'm not allowed a drink, the denture is fucking uncomfortable and my mouth seems to think that the denture is a lovely glacier mint or similar and I am salivating heavily.

Nevermind I can save up for a bridge...

When you've saved for the bridge, do look into how cost of getting an implant in Europe compares. I've done many holidays this way.

As Des said - get yourself over to Poland and the like..... excellent work and a fraction of the cost. A mate here had over 10K worth of work done for about 25% of the quote(s) from UK and Belgium.

Just had to send the DVLA an email/form about not getting a tax refund for the ZX still, despite selling it nearly 8 weeks back. Had to pay for 6 months in one go due to the taxation class changing when I bought it.

Knew this would happen. Insert generic 'easier to take my money than give it back' drivel here

The DVLA are absolute dog shit on toast when it comes to refunding VED. Do everything DD, it really does save a lot of grief.

This x1000

When I've sold cars before, I've just cancelled the DD without even telling the DVLA, and sent off the V5.

I then get the little slip a couple of weeks later of confirmation I'm no longer the registered keeper. Never had any problems doing it that way.

I normally do DD but for some reason I didn't get that option in the PO when changing vehicle taxation class.

Annoying, but hopefully I'll be getting a cheque for £100 or so when they reply.

Cancelling it yourself (via your bank) is vital. Sold an X-Type a couple of years ago, did the V5 and whatnot and a few months later discovered I was still paying the sodding tax on the bastard, DVLA hadn't cancelled it themselves as they said they do.

Yep one of my workmates goes home to Romania for dental work, even for only fairly minor work pays for the trip, unbelievable.

I know a Polish lad who got his car LPG converted whilst back home for a holiday, 6 cyl conversion around £600 all in, roughly half the price of here.

It'll calm down once he's picked up whatever he dropped and is rolling around on the floor...!

FiL is an ex-NX coach driver, he reckons the auto boxes in these shitty coaches are wank in traffic unless you use manual mode - he's not wrong

Speaking as an ex coach driver autoboxes in coaches are just wank at any time.

In the terminal stages of a repair that has been languishing for 13 years now, needed a pin vice to hold a small drill - too small for a Dremel.

Bought a set of four that came with 20 minute drills .03mm~1.6mm.

Opened the box of drills, more from curiosity than necessity and poof!  little buggers all over the place.

Searched for ages, with a magnet to help, but only found 14.

had a van covered in driveway resurfacing stickers towing a caravan 3x it's size overtake me at 60 through the roadworks on the M6 today , the number plate fell off the caravan officer,

behind it was a new discovery sport , woman on the phone, got stuck in traffic so she pulled up the inside of the van and carried the conversation on in person with the occupants

The occupants being 2 girls of 5-6 years old stood on the passenger seat of the van, not strapped in at all while mum drove along in a multiple airbag equipped safety zone

I can hear the wailing now if something happens, are there no rules they will adhere to even if it's the one that stops their kids being thrown through the windscreen

Bloody Scomadi still not ready as they haven't sent the parts to the motorbike shop doing the warranty work. They can put it back together but there's a labour charge. It also means an extra 60 mile round trip to go back for a third time.

Posted

They deliberately disabled your bike before getting the parts for warranty work - and they want paying to put it back together after their failure?

FRO.
