I've got an auto with PAS you could have, but it ain't cheap.  Not least because, against all the odds (FWD, 4-pot, too young for free tax) I actually like it!

The focus for mot may need a wheel bearing and may need number plates. Apart from the damage on bumper its a great car. Thanks for offer though but i couldnt take on the laguna. Have ypu seen my luck lately?!

Well I do hope that you feel better and recover soon.

Hey, it's been lucky so far. Maybe it's potential bad luck and your bad luck will balance out! If the shit carries on flinging round the fan it's an auto and the offer is there

Attention all motorists. If you drive your car at me on a pedestrian crossing and try to mow me down I may just call you a "fucking stupid bitch" and try to rip your mirror off. Waving your finger at me will only result in me shoving said finger up your arse if I get hold of you.

I sold my '05 focus mk2 in Feb to another manager at work, its now shit its engine 4000 miles later and he's not happy, I suspect he's been ragging it to death and has never checked the oil in the time he's had it, it was perfect when I sold it and I had spent loads on preventative maintenance, I even replaced the wishbones the day before he collected it at £200 because there was a small knock and I wanted it to be right for him, on a £1000 car!

I broke my rule of not selling a vehicle to anyone I know or work with, I won't be doing that again, I've told him to fuck off and its his problem, makes work a bit difficult mind as he does all my HR stuff.

Just had to send the DVLA an email/form about not getting a tax refund for the ZX still, despite selling it nearly 8 weeks back. Had to pay for 6 months in one go due to the taxation class changing when I bought it.

Knew this would happen. Insert generic 'easier to take my money than give it back' drivel here

Got a reply today saying they did send a cheque, but they will send another now. Odd. Wonder if a disgruntled ex housemate binned it?

^^this is why we've got that guarantee that no matter what happens it'll be fixed or replaced.

We've had all the motor and belts for the dryer and a total new washer for nothing so far.

This is why I wish my Mrs would let me have a Hoovermatic. My Hoover Junior?1958.My Phillips tumble dryer? 1976. Guess what, they both still work AND I can still get parts for them! #householdshite

I don't normally read this thread, but had to have a grump after Sunday afternoon.

We were out driving in my wife's (diesel) car, and stopped to fill up. Being truly awful weather I offered to fill it up for her so she could remain in the dry. 43 litres later, I replaced the unleaded nozzle, and promptly shouted "FUUUUCCCCCKKKK!"

Fortunately didn't try and start it, so got a recovery back home (apparently now the most common breakdown they see, but we were the first to get recovery back home rather than to a garage!) First thought was to siphon from the filler neck, but there appeared to be baffles present solely to piss me off.

Next step was to disconnect the pipe from the tank pickup, and siphon from there. That went well, albeit slowly due to the size of the pipe. Until the tank level got lower - as there is a 'hump' in the centre of the tank to clear the exhaust/propshaft and the fuel is transferred to the pickup side via a pump. This was not enough to keep up with the rate I was siphoning off, so the flow kept drying up. Followed by lots of sucking, and mouthfuls of petrol as the bubbles formed and the fuel shot up the pipe :-(

So followed a minute or so of draining, with several minutes with my finger over the pipe to block the flow. This worked until the car decided the level was too low for the in-tank pump to run, but by reckoning there was still another gallon in there. So removed the pickup/level sender assembly, and bent a length of copper tube to go in the top, over the hump and down the other side.

57 litres later it was dry, and filled with 25 litres (all I had) of diesel. I've put in more today, and all seems fine but it's a waste of 6 hours. Plenty of dieselly petrol (~20% mix) which I reckon will be OK to put in the Stellar. Maybe a bit smoky but hopefully not too bad?

Only one reply to that - you silly daft sod!

Shit!

Someone at work did it the other day so don't feel too bad. He put a full tank of unleaded into a Sprinter!

Would the diesel and unleaded separate on their own if you leave it stood for a while?

Not a grump just a aren't people strange thing.

We were watching a programme that can only be described as bake off but with Lego on channel 4 (by sky plus) and one of the teams is a Farther and son.

They do an interview with his wife and she was saying along the lines of that people* think it's weird that her husband builds stuff with Lego.

Got us talking as to why? I mean if he was into some 'game' where 11 blokes kick a sack around a field and knew some very in depth details about the players and their lives no-one would say anything but, build really complicated and imaginative things from what's seen as a child toy and he's a nutter?

Made me think about here. Bloke pisses his pants over some 'super car', that's good, shows appreciation for a Maestro etc he's a cock?

No - if it did, then there would be no need for fractional distilation at oil refineries, and 2-stroke premix would separate out too.

Mat - don't stick the whole lot straight into the Stellar, it'll pink like buggery!

No but a low compression transit will slurp it down happily, mine if not yours ;)

I can confirm that an 03 Diesel HiAce will run quite happily on a tank of unleaded.

Amazingly, given the number of vehicles I've owned and how much of an absent-minded fuckwit I am most of the time, I've never managed to put the wrong fuel in a tank.  I do remember reading in the handbook for my old VW LT though that it would run happily on up to 1/3 petrol - assuming Mrs_the_cat's car is a bit more modern than that though?
