Yes, accurate ages. But she's always been nuts, I think a lot of current stuff is she's bored and trying to get attention, and doesn't realise if she keeps saying "He's violent" at some point he's going to be taken away.

I've had a rant at a Dr's receptionist. They cancelled a home visit to my wife as too busy. I took her to A +E and she passed on within a fortnight.

I get what's going on, from both sides. But I do have some sympathy for mad Jean.

If she was always slightly deranged this is bound to push her over the edge.

It's a rant, but a good one on some points.

Traffic calming has recently been installed on the main road through the villiage. A handful of those chicane things. Carnage tonight when a tractor, taking a new line to avoid the new hazard, smashed a man hole cover that no-one normally ever hits, followed almost immediately by a car driving into the low winter sun, hit the new calming obstruction and lost a wheel. Sadly, although they've built the obstructions, they haven't put any warning signs up yet.

Booked a blood test last week specifically to check my cholesterol level. Nurse took 2 phials of blood

Phoned the doctor to get the result this afternoon to be told they don't test for cholesterol level if the patient is on statins. So how am I meant to know if I need to increase my dosage? At least my fasting glucose level is OK although I didn't ask for it to be checked.

I have to go for blood tests on Monday, I'll ask if they do - if I remember of course.

Strange, I get a suite of blood tests done every year including cholesterol, and it gets done even though I'm on statins. How else can you prove they're working?

Someone's run in the back corner of my car whilst parked. Bumper and back panel out of alignment and a small ripple in the panel. So not like the sort of impact you wouldn't notice.

Whoever it was I hope your genitals turn black and fall off. And your partner runs off with the milk man.

Whilst not owning an electronic automobile,  I'd be well pissed off and needed to charge whilst this fuckwit parks in a slot, every day !!!!!! Never a lead seen

Been and had two new tyres fitted this morning, noticed the inside edge of the nearside rear on the Merc was down to the cords, rest of the tyre fine and front offside worn quite low on the inner edge.

Ordered two new Falkens from Protyre (part of Micheldever) and went down this morning.

Asked them to replace both and have a look at suspension tracking as something is clearly way off.

They've put two new all seasons on, one on the front right, one on the rear left and not looked at the tracking saying i never asked for it.

Would of expected them to ask if i wanted new ones on front or rear and swap them round.l, especially as new are all seasons and old are summer tyres.

Been using them for years but wont be going back!

Am i being overly picky?

To be fair, "all seasons" does include summer.

would love to meet the genius who decided to put the r53 (or r50 whatever teh fuck theyre called) mini's starter down below the fuckign exhaust manifold in the most inaccessible place possible where it has its own gash little heatshield that you cant fucking move and then the battery negative terminal nut decides to just spin and spin and then you give up bc even if you went through the pullaver of taking the fucking exhaust manifold off you can't jack the think up because the missus' driveway is so steep it might as well be a welsh mountain.

off to the garage you fuck. still, i got some shiny new tools so, woo?

i also have mega lack of skillz, which doesn't help but, rome wasn't built in a day and all that.

Could insomnia please fsck off and get in the sea.  Got a load of things I need to do tomorrow and I am WIDE awake now.  Like more than I have been in probably a week.  No chance in hell I'm getting to sleep any time soon.

I don't think I accidentally drank half a gallon of coffee with dinner...

Fucking Tuesdays. Some wanker has been at the wiring in the Lupo and buggered up the ISO connector, I can't get the individual connector out so now I've got to order a new one and chop it off then solder the wires. Why can't people leave shit alone if they don't know what they're doing?

Just to add insult to injury, I've just had a £90 fine land on the mat as I've inadvertently strayed into bastard Khan's ULEZ bullshit somehow.

To top it off I've just had to put about a litre of coolant in my Passat, and I've got the horrible feeling it's the heater matrix leaking. The new glovebox for it just turned up so when I fit that I'll pull the fan out and have a look, but I'm not in the mood now today, I just know I'll fuck something else up. Grrr

That is rotten luck.  I guess £90 is if you pay it now, rather than the full £180?

I do say to folks who live near London that it's worth setting up autopay for your car, even if you don't intend to go in the zone.  That way, if you do stray past a camera, it's £12.50 not £180.

It's worth challenging it.  Certainly with DART they will always wave the first fine if you contest it.  Perhaps ULEZ will be the same.

Good luck man.

Totally agree with setting up an autopay account, you also get the added 'bonus' of getting the odd freebie when the systems not picked you up.

Got 4 new tyres fitted to the company car yesterday Kwik Fit (lease company says we have to use them).  I was going go to remove the valve caps in case they forgot to replace them, but decided not to.

Got car back but didn't check till I got home, guess what - no caps. Managed to blag 4 from the Mercedes garage I was in this morning though.

Remember this leaky twat printer from the other week? It had one more trick up its sleeve. I bagged it up at the time and put in the outhouse while I decided whether to have a moan at Tesco about the cartridge. It was in the way so I put it in the recycling bin outside. Today I thought I'd do a nice simple job of picking up all the leaves Bert had deposited everywhere. Moved the bins to get the leaves out and thought WTF is all this black everywhere? Yep, ink, diluted just enough by the rain to fill the bin and leak out all over the path.

The fucker's in the main bin now, and the neighbours are twitching the curtains while I wash the tin cans on the lawn

Reminds me of the day many years ago when i was an IT hardware engineer and first call of the day was to a HP Deskjet, something like a 690 with registration issues, i took it off the desk in the middle of someones office and tipped it backwards resting it between the front lip of the desk and my knees whilst i was sat on the office chair, i'd been working on it for about 10 mins when i put it back on the desk and noticed a huge puddle of ink on the light coloured carpet, i then noticed my black trousers were wet.

Had to get bin bags on the car seat and go home for a bath, was scrubbing ink off my legs for weeks!

O HAPPY* DAYS!

I recall Mr Sims collecting a big HP printer from a school near Rugeley in one of the pool Scudos, then failing to strap it down hard enough to deal with the emergency stop he had to do on the A51...

I remember that..

Do you remember one of our team reversing the Bedford Midi down a flights of steps (by mistake) it was only a few days later it became evident he'd crushed the fuel tank.

Job Centre.

Suffice to say they cannot grasp the concept of a person who lives in a house share and pays for rent and bills inclusive and therefore has no utility bills in their name.  All this because my rent went up £25.  I should be able to use my driving license to prove ID but there's no way of uploading that properly (you need a check code too from a government site, for some reason) on the online system, so you have to do it a janky way where you upload the image file and then make a note separately in your Journal because apparently they can't read the check note you wrote down in the same image as the driving license.

It's just stressing me the fuck out.  I reported this change in October and all that keeps happening is they keep declining the documents I provide and then asking for the exact same documents, which they then decline.

About 20 years ago I bought one of those cartridge refill kits that used a syringe. It went very, very wrong. So I had to go to a wedding two days later with indelibly black fingers. I wasn't popular with my wife.

It's pretty clear their job is to find ways not to pay you if at all possible
