Terribly photographed Mister Two in Warwick for £1200. I had a Fun Time in one of these about two decades ago.

TTE style bar is worth £250 straight away, so the car would owe a new owner less than a bag of sand.

Cracking vans these, especially with the turbo engine.

Yep, great vans but nearly ended badly the one time I drove one. Our then lodger, now brother in law, was moving out and he was service manager for the local Hyundai dealer so borrowed one of these for the move. Last trip and he asked me to drive it so he could take his Honda CBR600 (I think, long time ago). I was used to Transits so thought nothing of it, until I approached him on the bike, stationary at the first junction and went to brake. Fuck!! Yanked the handbrake on before I punted his bike across the junction. The steering column is in the way between the accelerator and brake, like a 7.5 tonne and I’d not expected that. Close shave!

Proton Savvy - unable to get sprog interested as this is not 'cool'. 31K miles, I like the seller's attitude:

£1250. Open to offers but idiots will be ignored. Don’t ask ‘best price’ - make an offer. My best price is 1250 yours is the cheapest you can get. No, I won’t be taking your nan’s mobility scooter in part exchange.

That's amazing, probably the most desirable iteration of the E23, especially with the manual and LHD. Could probably make a healthy profit importing it to Germany.

Am I right in thinking the 745 was US market only?

I vaguely remember a C&SC article, probably by Martin Buckley, raving about the 745 and getting positively tumescent about it only having a 2.8 engine and forced induction.

Wonder if the 745i has a big old KKK turbocharger like its little brother the 2002 turbo. Massive turbo lag. For a 'rust free' car it appears to have a fair bit of rust though. Still a nice old thing.

I have always understood ‘rust free’ in a car advert to mean there is no additional charge for the rust.

I don't know how any of these survived, I thought they were vanishingly rare as a kid in the 80s.

Is that the same front end as the contemporary Celica? My 3rd year teacher had one in yellow, I thought it was proper cool.

Must admit I didn't know these existed as a LongRoof (TM). Calling it gold is a bit of a stretch though, looks like BL Nappy Stain to me.

3.2 litre straight six with Bosch L-Jetronic and a KKK Turbo. Only early cars were manual. Post 82 cars had a 3.4 litre engine.

There was also a South African built 745
