Save it!!

Looks like it's being broken for bits rather than being raced.

Thanks Wuv, yes saw earlier too.  It could be saved really. Sad times, but better than pure destruction.

You are too late to say that to @richykitchy 😉

Yes, but this is a twin-pack of potential pain. Would be ideal to see if conversion to RHD is possible.

I suspect this seller was asked when his car's belts were last changed...

What engine code would a 1993 240 have? B200E? Or the old carb one?

I do not know if the UK got other engines than we got. But here, the B230F was the most common engine in these here. There was also a B230FX that was common on police editions here but apart from that it is rare. I also think there was a B200F but it was never sold here so I think it is only these 3 on these later models and they are quite similar and have injection.

Edit

Have looked at the ad and see he has written 1986 cc so will then assume that it is a B200F but I can be wrong. But the cover for the timing belt should then be marked with the engine code.

There was a <2litre Volvo sold here for a short while right at the end of 240 production.Possibly only the wagon / estate. It was because of the tax rules for business vehicles. We had a very late 240 wagon where I worked, used as a pool vehicle. (Replacing an Escort van)  I borrowed it for a few months after crashing my BMW. It was very thirsty and very useful.

Oh I see we only got 2.3 liters here at the end. And that with fuel consumption I find strange. I owned a 1990 740 estate with the B230F engine and manual transmission and it was not bad on consumption. On a long trip with a load and a ski box on the roof, it was stable at 0.69 to 0.7 liters per 10 km, which is not bad, I think. And without the load and the box on the roof it would have been lower. V70 I had used more.

Trafalgar blue aka doom blue of the1960's

Image 1 - 1970 Morris Oxford Saloon Petrol Manual

£1,200 ono in Classic Car Weekly last week, genuine old boy selling it because he can't drive it anymore.

Classified ad price: £3,995 on ebay now! I wonder how much this chap bought it for?

For ultimate 'doom' spec it'd need to be fitted with the 1.5 litre B-series diesel and an automatic gearbox.

"It has the original Goodyear tyres and the Chelsea frame is in excellent condition"

Thank God; I bought a Delorean a few years ago and the Chelsea frame was in terrible condition

I keep looking at this and thinking I should buy it and make the world's only 4 wheel drive Renault 6...

and then donate the leftover chassis and body-shell to @dollywobbler to go with the Dyane he used to have
